I say screw Charlotte.
We're at 4, there is seemingly going to be at least 1 of 3 people there that will help us...
Keep #24. Make them make the decision on who to take...
We need Quality AND Quantity...

The only way I see us moving up to #2 is if we have one guy so much more highly rated than everyone else is the draft.
I can't see us giving up 24 to move to 2. I just don't see that much of a difference in players 2-5. If we could move to 1 and take Davis .... then yeah, in a heartbeat. However, we wouldn;t be moving up for him.

Heard the Cavs offered #4, 24, 33, 34 & Tristan Thompson to move up to #1. Cavs were rejected by the Hornets who opted to trade with the Washington Redskins.
"The medium for the bad news was ESPN, which figured. The network represents much of what is loud, obnoxious and empty in sports today."

That's not exactly true..
We offered #4, 24, and 33...
Then when NO told us they were trading with Washington we tried to add 34 and TT...

Yeah, but it's all good because Trent Richardson is going to look awesome throwing elbows and stiff arms in a cavs uni.

I bet that Trent could set a mean screen on the basketball court. He's short enough that he'd set his arms, and some big guy would run gut first into them ......

Something that always amazed me comparing Football and Basketball...
Joe Thomas is a very tall man. And at 6'6" he's about average height for an NFL Offensive lineman...
LeBron James is two inches taller than him. And almost a foot taller than Richardson.

I agree at 4, though wouldn't be against a combo of 24, 33, 34 to move up if the right opportunity were to come up. Plus if I am not mistaken with all of the outstanding trades - I believe the Cavs have Miami's first rounder next year (top 10 protected), Minnesota's 2nd rounder next year, and Orlando's 2nd rounder next year. Hard to keep track of all of that though. Regardless, Cleveland has many options if they want to move up from 24.

Oh I have no problem using 24 and the 2nd rounders to move up, I just want to come away with at least 2 people out of this draft.
We also have the option to switch Miami's pick with the Lakers, assuming the lakers is lower (which it likely will be)
I was hoping for an LA firesale this offseason...

To be honest, I've been throwing around some deals in my head to package this year's (not 4) picks plus part or all of next year's picks to move up and take either Zeller/Leonard and also Jeremy Lamb. MKG, either center, Lamb added to Kyrie and Thompson from last year would be risky, but potentially awesome.
Don't think it will happen, so I'll stick with my hope for MKG at 4, Melo at 24, Orlando Johnson at 33, and Wroten at 34. (Wroten and Melo I'm flexible about, would really like to get MKG and Johnson in Cavs unis)

We could have a total of 3 first rounders and 2 second rounders next year ..... We have Miami's, (or LA's) Our own, Sacramento's (Lottery protected) and our own 2nd, plus Orlando's 2nd. Now I doubt that Sacramento escapes the lottery next year ..... but if they do, we would almost have too many picks.

Isn't it only top 12 or 13 protected next year?

The Rockets are trying really hard to do something. They now own picks 12, 16, and 18. They are trying to get two top ten picks and then trade those two picks for Dwight Howard. Crazy. And if they get Howard I bet they try and get a sign-and-trade done with the Nets to get Deron Williams too.

Top 13 next year, top 12 the year after, and top 10 in 2015, 2016, and 2017. If the Cavaliers have not received a pick by 2017, then the Cavaliers get Sacramento's 2nd round 2017 pick ...... unless it's in the top 55. If Cleveland doesn't receive any of those picks under those multiple criteria, then they get nothing.

I should also add that in the case of the Heat picks, they have a number of years in which to take those picks. Some are lottery protected, but 2015 and 2017 are not.

Great idea.
And I wonder how serious Houston is, Howard is NOT going to re-sign there, are they ganna sell the farm for a 1 year rental? Crazy.
Howard should of just kept his mouth shut, declined his option, and he could be a free man right now...

Yep. Man, it seems like every other NBA trade under the sun is so complex that you have to read through it 3 or 4 times just to get what's what. The Clippers, for example, have traded their own 2015 second rounder to 2 teams ....bases on where the pick falls: 2015 second round draft pick to Houston The L.A. Clippers' own 2015 2nd round pick to Houston via Toronto (if pick is 51 - 55). If the L.A. Clippers' own 2015 2nd round pick is not among the 51st through 55th picks, then the L.A. Clippers' obligations to Houston shall be extinguished. [L.A. Clippers - Toronto, 1/7/2009 and then Houston - Toronto, 7/28/2010] 2015 second round draft pick to Denver The L.A. Clippers' own 2015 2nd round pick to Denver (top 55 protected in the 2015 Draft). If the L.A. Clippers' own 2015 2nd round pick is in the top 55 picks, then the L.A. Clippers' obligations to Denver shall be extinguished. [Denver - L.A. Clippers, 1/5/2009] http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed

That's stupid.
So could you technically trade the same pick to every other team, based on where it falls?

They traded their 2nd to one team only if it falls from 51-55. They they traded it to another team if the pick falls from 55 down.
So if it's in the 2nd round above 51, they they keep it.

Yeah, but what team is going trade you and take a 3% chance that they'll actually get your pick?

I can understand trying to move up for Davis but I see know reason to move up to #2. We are guaranteed to get MKG, Beal or Barnes. IF the top 3 picks happened to go Davis, Robinson, Drummond (I doubt it) then we would have our choice of any of those 3. In that scenario I don't know which guy I would pick. If they are that close why would you waste a pick to move up?
I am all for packaging #24 and another to move up a few spots and get a 2nd guy that we like.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Just throwing a name out there I've seen with the 4th pick
Dion Waiters, very explosive player. Everywhere I've read says he's like D-Wade

A lot has been said recently about OKCs drafts, when they took Harden and Westbrook, they were solid picks, but basically everyone said OKC reached...
And now with TT last year as a consensus "reach" a guy like Waiters wouldn't "surprise" me per say...
