I noticed on a couple of threads that on the main page the title reads one way but when I open the forum the thread has adiffernt title. One is the thread where BPG's title was changed the was were my post with the link to the Tucker story was merged with another Tucker thread. It's not that big a deal but I was wondering if it would be an easy fix.

well, yes and no.... it's that way by design. Anyone can alter the title in any one of their posts, it's always been that way. Additionally, if someone responds to your post before you edit it, then their title defaults to whatever yours is prior to your edit. It could be changed so that all posts follow the original post, but that then kills anyone being able to change the title in their own post.

As for merged threads, it could easily be changed to adopt the title of the thread it's being merged into, but then you kinda lose that bit that let's you know it was merged in.... fine for the average person, perhaps not so fine for the people looking for their thread that was merged with another one.

I dunno, give me feedback folks.

You could change the title at any time on the old board....even if you were just responding to it. There were often different titles through the entire thread.

But was the main thread title different on the Main index and the forum index?

That's what I found confusing I saw I will never go back on the main index as the thread with the must recent response. Then when I opened the forum the thread on top said thread said I will go back.

In the case of the Tucker thread my thread title was Tucker and Kelley done for the season and it was merged into the What's up with Tucker thread. Since the Tucker thread wasn't at the top of the forum I saw ththe merge by opening the What's up with Tucker thread when I didn't see my thread there. So I don't know if it helps to let people know their thread has been merged or not.

Yes, I saw it many, many times.

No, it'd be DawgyLama's fault, she is the Ruiner!

DL~The titles are different (if I'm understanding your question correctly), because the title shown on the "new message" is what the author of that post made their title, but the overall thread will still have it's original title. Did that make sense??
