The LeBron lovers will point out the fact that he had 30 last night, but here's what I saw ....

In the final 8 minutes of a pivotal Game 5, LeBron attempted 2 shots, scoring 2 points.

I kind of forget he was even on the team.

Exactly what Cowherd was saying.

Heck, I watched the game, and it was noticeable.

The most noticeable thing when he starts shrinking is the aggressiveness just vanishes, and he can't wait to get the ball out of his hands.

he also did setup Chalmers for 2 wide open 3pters (he went 1/2). but, then again, he was so laxadaisical with one of his 2 shots that Garnett had an incredibly easy block on it. not to mention his halfway effort on defense, etc.

my favorite though is when LeBron runs to the corner off the PnR w/ Wade. has Wade EVER passed to LeBron in the corner on that play?

I don't care what anyone says about KD vs LBJ but Kevin Durant looks hungry for a title and Lebron looks scared to lose.

Durant is scary good.

He's proving to be an efficient scorer as well ... not just a volume shooter.

I think people really underestimate how important that is. Jordan was a 50% FG shooter for his career. He may have put up a lot of shots, but he made 1 of every 2. That's HUGE. Kobe, otoh, just the opposite. Volume shooter, lots of points because of it. He also shoots his team out of most games they lose.

Durant really got his FG% up there this year.

Efficiency is something I really key on in games.

He actually did once last night in the 4th, one of his two shots, and he clanked it. I've never had confidence in him shooting from the corner.

He completely takes himself out of a game when he stands there. He's not a threat there and teams pretty much leave him be. It's his little cubby hole.

I think the guy is afraid to lose. Michael Jordan hated losing, but he wasn't afraid of it. He went through it.

The weirdest part was I don't think he was always like that. Maybe because he had that built-in excuse in Cleveland made up by the national media?

Yeah, this isn't the same Lebron from 2007, where he put the team on his back and willed them to victory against the Pistons in that 45-point game 2OT game. Even in 2008, when they lost against the Celtics he was still trying to be the go-to-guy in crunch time ... remember the monster dunk over Garnett? But that was against 3 all-stars in their prime, and he was understandably over his head. That summer he went to the Olympics, where Lebron looked to be the best player, but Kobe would take over in the 4th. It almost seemed to emasculate him, as he hasn't really been the same ever since. That was also the summer that him, Wade and Bosh conspired to join up in a few years, and were everyone learned to flop and whine to the officials. Maybe we should of held him out of the Olympics?

The reasons the Cavs teams were better was because LeBron had the ball all of the time. Now he has to share it with Wade, who is not as good. If I were the Heat I would just give LeBron the ball and tell everyone to get out of the way. That probably wouldn't go over too well with Wade though.

(Side note, if I were the Heat I would trade Wade for Dwight Howard. Never going to happen, but what deal would the Magic get that is better than that?)

I think I'd probably take the Bynum deal over the Wade one.

Also, I think Dwight going to Miami is the only possible way that team gets any more unlikable.

They would literally rival General Zod and his crew.

Wade only has 1 more year on his contract and then he would bolt Orlando.

Why is that any better than hanging onto Dwight?

The old men look young tonight, well Parker and Jackson at least.

15 points is a sizeable lead but doesn't feel like it's that big of a lead against OKC.

No lead is safe versus a elite team.

If I was a coach I would tell my team just stay calm and realize they will have a run. Just try to keep it even for the most part

Wow, Duncan is really killing the Spurs.

Playing so timid on offense.

Come on man, you're a HOFer. Play like you want this thing.

My most hated player of all time is Derek Fisher.

He was never any good, but rode the coattails of others to all his successes.

So when he just hit that bank shot and started shaking his head as if he was a badass it reminded me of how much I hate that guy.

And he is incredibly dirty as well.

It sucks he'll probably get another ring on the coattails of others.

Back to the game, you had to know that the first half was a mirage. No way the Spurs were winning tonite.

But they fought like champions. They just weren't as good.

Man, if the Celts come out of he east, I'd like to see that group get one more.

The Thunder are going to get multiple cracks at this thing.

Just don't know how they could beat this OKC team. Or how anyone can beat them right now.

Part of me would love to see Miami go to the Finals and just get absolutely spanked by Durant and the Thunder, a team that's done everything the right way. I'm quite content with them bowing out in six to Boston though.

Want to know the biggest difference between OKC and Miami?

Resiliency

OKC got punched in the mouth. Down 0-2 against a Spurs team on a 20 game win streak and looked invincible. However they fought and won 4 in a row.

If you punch Miami in the mouth they fold like cowards.

Completely agree.

However, I will say I cannot recall in all the years I've watched basketball a team as young and as talented as OKC with three guys who all believe they are the best player on the floor and at various times all three might be right.

Hell, did Durant and Westbrook even sit in this game?

Resilient, yes. Uber-talented, yes.

For them it was just a matter of when the switch was going to come on. Unfortunately for the Spurs it was 4 games ago.

Interesting point by Pops there...if OKC wins it all, their path to the championship will have gone through teams that have won 11 of the past 13 championships. All of them except for Detroit and whichever team loses the ECF.

I hate the Celtics and hope the Thunder humiliate them if the Celtics finish the Heat off. However I think Boston will probably put forth a good series but the Thunder are going to be favorited over whomever they play.

I just can't stand Garnett and Pierce, and obnoxious Boston fans. For all the talk about how Miami fans are bandwagon, nobody was showing up at the TD Garden before 2008. That's for sure.

What is it that people STILL don't get about Lebron leaving?

Here's what people don't get.......

Why? Why do people feel it helps to hang on to bitterness and hate? Why do they feel that in any way helps them or hurts LBJ to keep up this continual bashing?

I think the way he left with the announcement and everything was very classless! I lost a lot of respect for him as a person when he did that. I was very upset at the time!

But what's the point of just continuing to hang on to this? The guy is gone and has been gone for quite a while now. At what point do people just move on and let it go? I mean what bad things are left to be said about him that hasn't already been said a thousand times?

Some people get mad about things just as I did with his announcement. I wasn't happy he left. But I got that out of my system quite a while ago and moved on.

Some people hold grudges forever. But it isn't a healthy thing to do. And when one just can't let go of the past, it makes it very hard to look at the future. And I think it's far more sad for the people who continue to hold the grudges, than it does the ones they hold the grudges against.

You see, LBJ has a new fan base, a continued career and is doing very well. Those who hold the grudge are still bitter. So who really loses here? It's not LBJ. At what point in time does holding a grudge just make people look petty and bitter?

Did you ever think that maybe the reason some athletes in both the NFL and the NBA don't really want to play in Cleveland is because of the way the fan base holds these kinds of grudges and berade players for years after they leave?

The only people the fan base may be hurting by these kinds of actions is themselves IMO

And like I said, if you look at it big picture, Hillis quit on us and left too. But no big deal? I simply don't understand. Had Hillis played as much as he could with the same drive and determination he did the year before? We lost four or five games by 5 points or less. Yet no outcry from that one. I find that very puzzling.

Totally agree. I've moved on from LBJ. I chuckle at anyone who mentions his name in the same breath as Art Modell. I'll never get over that. I don't go out of my way to root that something bad happens to him, but I just don't like the guy.

Also agree on Hillis, looking back on last season, that was really embarassing, even as a fan, it has to be even worse as an employee of the team seeing a guy like that just flake out on everyone.

I don't root for Lebron, I don't root against him. We all had a good laugh whent hey blew it last year, but it was time to move on this year.

I still hate the Steelers and their fans a lot more than I ever did Lebron, true story.

Well after watching people hang on to a grudge well past it's prime and seem they have so much bitterness they just can't let go even to the point of spiting themselves, I thought it was time I did.

At some point, it seems so petty and silly, at what point do people just move on and let it go? All this hate and bitterness only hurt the people who hang onto it. It's certainly not hurting JBJ.

the CBA is the best deterrent to the Thunder. how crazy is it that a CBA constructed with protecting the smaller markets in mind may end up being the thing that blows up the best small market team in recent history?

(and before someone says the 2003 Spurs, I have mixed feelings about calling the 10th biggest city in the country with another large city in Austin being an hour away as a small market team)

My disdain comes from the championship celebration Miami had two years ago for the championship that they haven't won yet. That and the incessant media fawning.
