Don hasn't recorded in nearly 20 years and is a recent inductee in to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
He had 17 #1 hits and I read somewhere that 40 of his 42 single releases made the top 10....pretty strong.
The vid below gives a hint of what is to come on this mans journey with music. I saw him maybe a month ago in concert, and let me tell you, at 73 years old, the guy is still a voice for the ages.
In the vid you'll hear people you know , country music fan or not, gush over the guy. When the CD is released in a few weeks, give the old guy a shot, it is a refreshing sound I know you will like, even if you are a head banger. Sometimes you need some mellow to balance things, and this guy is mellow.
Nobody is like the Gentle Giant. (He's maybe 6'7" or more)
Oh, he still has that corncob tasseled hat.....a way cool hat, at least to me. He's had that hat a long time. When it's all said and done, that thing needs to go to the HOF to hang on the wall.
Good news....Hearing Good old boys like me...Reminds me of my dad working in the garage, he use to play Don Williams greatest hits over & over...dad couldnt carry a note but thanks god that didnt stop him from singen loud, Don brings back great memories, along with being one of the best in country music..Gonna have to grab it when it comes out.
