They are interviewing Urban Meyer in the booth. Didn't realize what a big Reds fan he is. I knew I liked him.

Dang, the Reds are in 1st, all right! Now that I've looked at the standings, I'm good for another 3 months.

Yes, and he threw out the first pitch wearing his Reds jersey! Classy dude.

I believe Urban is throwing the first pitch at one of the games in Cleveland next week, any bets he wears an Indians jersey?

He may, he mentioned he likes the Indians. He has to be politically correct in an effort to keep fans all over the state, but he went on and on about how he grew up a HUGE Reds fan and how he could still tell you the rosters and batting averages for all the Reds teams while he was growing up. He made it clear he's a very big Reds fan. That's what I was talking about, not the jersey, people do that wherever they throw out the first pitch.

well, the Indians pitching keeps helping other teams get out of their hitting slumps.
only Boston/Minny are worse in the AL at runs against (Milwaukee, Houston and Colorado in the NL)
we bellyache about our hitting, but we actually plate some runs. our pitching has just let us down time and time again.

I agree , but you Damond/Duncan/ Cunningham playing left ( all hitting 200 ? ) You have a great glove , but a 200 hitter at first and Acta refuses to move Santana out of cleanup ?

Anybody catch Matt Cain's perfect game last night?? I was able to catch the last two innings. Amazing catch by his center fielder to keep the game alive in the 7th though. Fun thing to watch, as the atmosphere is as electric as a World Series game.

I know we have problems on that side too. we somehow manage to scratch out runs though. plus, I see easier solutions to those problems in the trade market (Houston wants to dump Carlos Lee, Cubs desperate to dump Soriano, etc.) more than our pitching issues (we need Masterson/Ubaldo to start pitching better - and no other way to do it really).

Two thoughts regarding this afternoons game:
1) This whole Lowe v. Baker tiff could make today kinda interesting. 2) Our bottom three are Cunningham / Marson / Tomlin. If Tomlin hit 7th instead, would it make a difference?
I hope Tomlin has it today, cause i'm not seeing more then 2 runs on 5 hits for the Tribe today.

Leake's a RHP with an ERA near 5.0
the Tribe does fine (even with the cruddy lineup that basically makes it a 6man lineup) against RHers.
I'd say we score 4 runs on the day (and hope we somehow giveup less. IBB Philips every friggin' time if that's what it takes - he kills us)

Nope, absolutely miserable.
Hopefully the good guys can win tonight and prevent the sweep.
And I also hope that we are as hospitable when the Reds come to Cleveland.

I hope that we crush the Reds today, but then help them out by sweeping the Pirates

Typical. Score 2, give up 3. Score 1, give up 2.
These pitchers have no ability to sustain any kind of momentum.

Next time I'm shoving it up my own backside. If the Reds want to use it they have to go in after it Congrats to the Reds fans on kicking out butts, now it's time for us to help yinz out again and put a hurting on Pittsburgh.
