I think, in last night's game at least, you can thank the ridiculously awful offense of the Pirates. The time is now for Huntington to make a trade - or seven. We had like six hitters last night hitting less than .235... in the middle of June... ridiculous.
Stupid hitting.

Speaking of sputtering offenses, the Indians LF trio (Damon, Duncan, Cunningham) are not exactly lighting it up. The A's released Manny Ramirez yesterday. I'm pretty sure Manny could hit .185 (Damon's avg) blindfolded, with the added benefit of being able to throw the ball to 2nd or 3rd from LF on the fly. He hit .302 with 14 RBI's in 17 games at AAA Tacoma.

This here tells a bit different story: Quote:
Manny Ramirez: “a gray-dreadlocked ineffective minor leaguer” Craig Calcaterra Jun 8, 2012, 2:02 PM EDT 15 Comments
Getty Images When is Manny Ramirez going to come to Oakland and help that offense? How about the 10th of never? Here’s Ann Killion:
Ramirez was presented as a changed soul, a man who wanted a second chance and a veteran who could be an important mentor to young players like Yoenis Cespedes.
Instead, he’s just been a gray-dreadlocked ineffective minor leaguer. He has hit just .243 with the River Cats, without any extra base hits and 10 strikeouts in 11 games. He hasn’t played a full game in over week, sidelined by a hamstring injury.
Harsh, but it may very well be true. Baseball doesn’t care if you’re colorful or cool or famous. If you can’t do it anymore, you can’t do it anymore. And soon it may be to the point where everyone has decided once and for all that Manny can’t do it anymore.
web page
Signing old, past their prime guys isn't going to do us anything. LaPorta's gonna get his shot once interleague is done until Hafner comes back. This is his last year to prove himself as he's out of options next year.
Bottom line: If they're available right now, they're not any better then what we have.

Glad to see Masterson did decent last night. I've been more disappointed in him than I was with Ubaldo. Hopefully we can remain close with the White Sox and catch fire.

I am so ticked off right now, just went out for a nice dinner and come home to settle in for the Reds game. It is blacked out on MLB, such a bummer! Guess I will see if I can get the Tribe game against the Pirates, going to be a boring night, I should have planned for a much better saturday night. Go Reds!

Check your local National Fox affiliate, not Fox Sports.
Edit - Nevermind, I see you're in Tampa you'll have the Rays and Marlins.

It's cool, I am listening...good enough for me right now. The Reds have a nice lead, that makes it all good.
Thanks man!

Pedro Alvarez - all he does is strike out, ground out to second or hit home runs. Dude hits about .150 for 3 weeks to a month and wants all of us Pirate fans wanting to ship him to Indy, then goes you-know-what crazy for about two weeks and we've found our third basemen for the next several years... looks like he's in another two week crazy spell.

Reds on a roll with 6 in a row. Side note: Billy Hamilton with 5 steals for Bakersfield, giving him 80 on the season.

The Reds take the lead once again in the 3rd. Not confident in Latos holding the lead though.

Looks like a pitcher's duel today ......

Man ... it wasn't easy .... but finally the good guys take one from the Reds. Hopefully it's the start of a trend ... returning the favor from last week.

The Reds have lost 5 in a row at Cleveland dating back to May 2010.
Time to break the streak.

Nope.
Good guys win again.
Cubs lead the White Sox in the 9th ...... if the Cubs win the Indians move back into 1st.
