I think they ruined the draft day party. I liked it when it was kinda exclusive. The one year i went and you paid alot more, but you got breakfast with the players in the locker room, private autograph session. That year it was james jackson, cj jones, suggs, and andre davis. It was laid back and you got to mingle with the players. Even bonelady was there. But it was very limited in the people allowed in. Then you went on a tour of the stadium, then went to the office max suite and got to pick our seats an hour before anyone else was let in. Not to mention got a spiffy leather attache' case with the browns logo on it. It was an awesome experience. Next year i went and its stack 'em and pack em. Wait outside in the rain for 2 hours before they let you in. can't find a seat. Actually had to buy 2 of the stadium chairs just to have somewhere to sit. Did get interviewed by channel 3 tho. But all in all they need to bring back the old way. Wonder if its a logistics thing?

Wow that does sound like a good time. I don't know, the Browns seem like they scaled back a lot of stuff for the fans. (A comment like that always brings out the ole "The Browns don't owe us anything" crowd, but actually I think they do in ways, look at our record since 99 and then look at attendance)

My buddy Ken and me was at the first one at the Science Center when Tim Couch was selected first. Seemed like an allright party then...

yeah the one i was referring to was when we selected KWII, they even had alot of the current players sign autographs and interview with mike cairnes and channel 3 had a studio set up. then the next yeah they had all 3rd teamers and old farts that noone even cared to talk to anymore

*sigh*

This HAS to be the same weekend as John's return to racing after a nearly 10 year hiatus. Being the supportive wife that I am, I'll be at the race track, with my Sirius Radio tuned to the NFL Channel.

My wife and I made the 4 hour drive up last year to go to the Draft Day Party at CBS, and had a ball. Sure, it was crowded, but we had no problem finding a seat. The food was very reasonably priced, the players very gracious signing autographs, and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. I'd highly recommend going to any Browns fan.

Won't be there this year. Course I have not been there in a few years, apart from playing football there.

Sounds to me like they are getting cheaper and cheaper when they should be catering to and kissing the butts of their paying customers.

Not adult only. Number of people....no idea, but alot.

I will say though that I far more enjoyed the parties at Dave and Busters over the ones at CBS.

Of course, one of my fave Draft Parties was at the BW's in the Flats. There was about 10 of us, maybe. Not offiicially sanctioned by the Browns, just friends getting together.

It couldn't have been that important to him then.....have you ever take a 10 year hiatus from the Browns??

Very true. I'll tell him that!

But racing is a bit more costly. Heck, he'll have more in his driver's suit etc. than we will in season tickets.

(but that's mostly due to my insistence that he have all brand new, highly rated products, rather than purchasing used, that we'll have to replace in a couple years anyway)

jason,, somewhere along the line, the Browns lost thier sense of direction when it came to certain events..

They did the same thing with Dawg Talk Day at camp.. First year, I got the feeling I was someone special,, Policy leaves and Collins comes in and the whole attitude changed for the worse..

Fans actually became second class to them...I mean the ordinary fan.

Thus, you will never see me at an event like this.. If it's free, sure but otherwise,, Nope.

You think like me.

Some call it cutting corners. I call it "cheap is cheap" no matter how you cut it.

In previous years there were games for kids down in the "Barking Lot" area.

The party was only at Dave and Busters once and I din't like it much at all.

Of course the best year was the year Jim Bundren was there that was great.

They brought the VIP party back as well this year - http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/events/details.php?id=13

I'm guessing that's what you were looking for as I attended it in the past as well and it was a great time!! Only $150/ticket!

You're right, it was only at D&B's once...I've just gone to OTHER Browns events there (confuzzling myself - not that difficult to accomplish...).

My wife and I are going to the VIP draft day party this year. We went in 2005 and had a lot of fun.

It is kind of pricey at $150/ticket, but actually, you are able to write off a lot of it (I want to say $120) off your taxes because it goes to the Cleveland Browns foundation.

Yeah, for the Toys for Tots events I'd imagine D&B's was OK. For the draft it was hard to hear what was going on and the food lines and autograph lines were horrible. They crossed over each other making it hard to tell which line you were actually in.

It was not pretty to say the least...
Be prepared to wait in very long lines for food and autographs if you go!!!!

YES! It was for Toys for Tots. DId that a couple years, I believe.

As for the Draft Party...I'm not too much of an autograph seeker, but I did get Shaun O'Hara, and Brant Boyer's autographs that year on my "Babe" jersey. Food...I don't remember. I think it was more about the people and then heading back to blitz's for more party.
