Not sure what happened to the last Skyrim thread, but Dawnguard was just released. Anyone pick it up?

Can't, not out for me for another 30 days. It's cool though been playing other games, pretty much did all the main/guild quests in Skyrim. Didn't do every misc. quest nor did I find and clear every dungeon, but I'd figure I'd wait for the DLC to keep picking away at that stuff. I did all the Deadric quests, Civil war, all guilds and the main story line so there wasn't much left for me to do.

I've done every quest line except for finishing the thieves guild influence for the achievement. I only have misc quests let in my que, and most them are fairly standard. I think I'll pick up the DLC this weekend and give it a shot. Looks awesome and I'm pumped about the vampire skill tree and dragonbone weapons.

I picked it up, its pretty cool. Its worth the price as im not done with it yet.
Overall its been a good DLC.
I just wonder if we will get a real expansion like the Shivering Isles this time around?

I picked it up last night. Really liking it so far, I had over 900 MS pts on my account, so I only had to drop $10 on it. I really hope we get a shivering isles like expansion bc $20 for this seems a bit steep IMO. Granted I'm not done with it, but I've heard its about 10 hours of gameplay.
The crossbow is awesome, though little slow. Its just cool to use against vampires in a role playing, setting the mode sort of way. Also FINALLY dragon weapons. I'm loving my enchated dragon bone sword. Glad I have some use for my 100+ collection of dragon bones in my chest.
I'm going the route of becoming a vampire lord, which route are you going KoB?

Since my internet connection sucks (satellite), I need to know whether or not it can be played offline after downloading like Arkham City. I love playing Skyrim!

Yeah $20 is definitely a tad too expensive for this expansion. It's well made, but in comparison to other expansions (like the similarly priced 'Lost and the Damned' for GTA4), Dawnguard is lacking. I've finished the main quest, and I'm doing one of the larger side quests now.
I went the Dawnguard route, but I made a save right before I started the expansion and plan on becoming a vampire lord and doing that quest line.
I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

Heck even comparing it to Shivering Isles (which was the same price) it's definitely lacking a bit. Haven't had a chance to pick back up, hoping to get some time in tonight.
I'll let you know about needing internet service, with the storms I've lost internet access at home so I'll be attempting to play without it.

Sorry don't have internet at home ATM due to the storm, I was able to play just fine without the internet.

I have taken the Werewolf route. I completed all the Totem of Hircine quests from Aela and The Companions.
The toem of Fear gives you a fear roar.
Totem of the Hunt gives you detect life in a huge area.
Totem of Brotherhood allows you to summon two wolf spirits to fight for you.
They can all be accessed from the Underforge and changed whenever you want.
Anyways, the Werewolf Perk Tree in Dawnguard has a perk that makes the Totem of Brotherhood Howl summon two Werewolfs instead of regular wolfs....lets just say that it straight up eats face...i found out there Werewolfs you summon are only 1 level below your character...so they are very tough...and they can ragdoll and toss people just like yours can...its flat out sick.
Not to mention the Werewolf Perk tree has 4 levels of Beastial Strength(its Like the One-handed Arms perk that each one boosts your attack power by 25%), and Animal Vigor Boosts Health and Stamina by 100 points each....there are other perks i n the werewolf tree too that are cool.
overall on this character the Werewolf suits me better....however i do have a Cloth Mage that has a high pool of mana that i will be trying out the Vampire Lord with since the VL seems more focused on magic vs the werewolf mele...however both options just look awesome.

Played some more last night, still havent completed the vampire session. I always get side tracked!
Vampire perks can be pretty sweet, and I'm liking that I can change at will, unlike werewolves which is limited to once a day. I think tonight I'll focus leveling up my vampire to unlock new perks.
