I disagree. You have to try to maximize your projected points.

Point falloff between Foster/Rice/McCoy to Charles/Lynch/Murray
compared to
Point falloff between Rodgers/Brees/Brady to Stafford/Vick/EorP Manning

I still like those QB options where I'm really questioning those RB as my top slot guy.

If I can get one of those RBs, Stafford, and a Welker or J.Jones that's potentially a top5 guy at each position right off the bat. Or, if you like WR-depth enough, then you can go with one of those RBs as your 2nd RB and put more strain on the rest of the league there.

That's kinda what I was looking at. I can take Foster 287, Lynch 201.5 & Vick 322 based on projected points and that would be better than Rodgers 384 , Lynch 201.5 & Charles 200.

Again that's just going off Projected point values but that's 810.5 vs 785.5.

Take Foster. Like I pointed out before you can get a solid QB much later. The best fantasy RB in the league is worth the risk. Hell last year he was hurt and still managed to get 1200 yards and 10 TDs.

If you draft Foster you HAVE TO draft Ben Tate with your 6/7th round picks. He won't last until the 8/9 picks.

Write it down in bold on your draft cheatsheet and DON'T FORGET!

I don't think you did.

That's a legit solid team. Someone may come along and yell at you for taking Ridley (non running team) over Ben Tate (Foster Insurance)

But as long as Forte doesn't break, and Julio breaks OUT like everyone thinks he will, You should be pretty well off.

Should be a good team.

I probably snag Tate instead of Luck as Foster insurance.

i agree with the others. solid drafting. i'd make a few different choices, but we all have our favorites. no glaring mistakes (which is bigger than you think)

though you did take a Steeler and Raven back-to-back

LOL, I almost took AJ Green over Julio Jones but I'm worried about Dalton having a sophomore slump so I went with Jones. But your right if it falls like this in my real draft I'll take Greg Little in between.

@king

I pushed Tate back to far. I thought he was going to make it to me in the 12th. I needed a back up running back, I went with Ridley because he was the best available that didn't have the same bye week as my two starters. Then I wanted a back up QB, went with Luck because a few draft sites said that he should put up good fantasy numbers because they feel the Colts should be playing from behind alot and he will rack up plenty of Garbage time stats.

Went Tate got picked a few spots before me I new I pushed him down to far. Our real draft is on the 26th so I plan on doing a Mock every other night until then just to fine tune my sheet.

Nope, it was a Yahoo Mock Draft. 1st one I did since I knew which position I was going to be drafting from. Trying to fine tune my strategy and draft board.

We were going to draft this Sunday but one of the guys is going on Vacation, so we are drafting next Sunday. Probably better because we will get to see two more Preseason games and if there are any injuries we can plan accordingly.

In a real draft Ben Tate won't make it to your pick in round 8. Don't take Antonio brown there or you're going to regret it.

Thanks for the info, that's why I'm asking questions. This is my first time playing/drafting. Not to mention I'm playing with a bunch of Steeler fans and I want to beat their ass......Antonio Brown will probably be drafted in the 3rd round by one of them.

So I was in a snake draft, at #6. Ended up with McCoy... Because the top ten went...

Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Cam Newton
Chris Johnson
Arian Foster
LeSean McCoy
Ray Rice
Tom Brady
Darren McFadden
Maurice Jones-Drew

The dude at #5 was exstatic Foster fell to him...

And I about BLEW UP the chat log talking to the guy who took Cam "Freakin" Newton at NUMBER 3 OVERALL...

And then McFadden in the top 10?

if McFadden stays healthy, then he's a top3 back no doubt.

(no, McFadden cannot stay healthy)

Depends on the scoring system, I play in a couple odd scoring league where a guy like Cam could put up an insane amount of points.

But yeah I'm a take a RB guy in that spot and get the QB later.

Love Cam's game though, have him in both my keeper leagues.

my only concern with Cam would be what happens if Carolina decides to use one of their 4 RBs to get those rushing TDs?

That's a good point, but he's still young and rushing is big part of his game. Obviously he isn't going to run for 11 every year but I think you could pencil him in for 5-7 a year and feel pretty safe with that.

I'm lazy at looking up stats and I know he had a few 1 yard runs. But I would say that was probably half of his total, it seemed like most of his rushing scores came on big gains. But I could be wrong, last year is a blur.

They ran a lot of plays last year in the red zone where Cam would either pass or run based on the defensive read.

But adding Tolbert to the the current RB situation certainly isnt a good thing for his numbers. With Cam I wouldn't be as worried with the rushing statistics as I would be with his passing game, the last half of the season his passing numbers dipped as teams had more tape on him.

You guys don't like Brown? I'm thinking he's going to have a great season. I'm looking at getting him as my 3rd WR, I'd take him mid rounds, IMO.

I don't think anyone was denying that, they were just saying that you have to handcuff Tate if you take Foster. If I took Foster I would go as high as a 6th round on Tate.

In fact I already screwed a Foster owner by taking Tate in the 6th, yes I'm that guy.

Nice point (sorry just saw this)...

But Tolbert will also help in red zone passing, and I just think Cam is too good at running the ball not to get 5 or 6 td's at his age.

I don't expect a repeat of last year. The old cleche sophmore slump may happen, but I don't think it will be that bad of a slump. He's developed some nice chemistry with Steve Smith, and Smith is in a much better mood having a real arm delivering the ball to him. I think he'll be fine, not as good as last year, but he'll be fine leading the 2nd tier of qb.'s.

Thought about Tate, didn't pull it. SHould have, my RBs are weak, which is annually my strength. I did take Brown, like planned, but way back at my 4th WR. Pretty much set there...

I run a 10 teamer....I've been wanting to go 12, but everyone likes the 10 team league.

Here's what I got:

Brees
Flacco

Murray
McGahee
D Brown
Blount
Hightower

Jennings
Nicks
V Jackson
A Brown
L Moore
G Little

F Davis
Cook

Henery

Steelers
Falcons

Ouch, yeah I like Murray but I really don't like the rest of your RB's.

I would be looking to trade a WR for one if I were you.

I know, very atypical of my usual drafting. I picked 8. Took Brees. Then after getting Murray, all the solid RBs disappeared, so I jumped on the WRs, thinking the RBs available aren't worth it here, I can get them next round and get more value. But they ALL went. I was flustered as all hell.

But as you can see, the WRs ended up looking pretty darn good.

Put it this way, last year I had Foster, Turner, Murray, and Bradshaw.

Yeah I just went through that hell, i made reach after reach at RB. Although I was stuck picking #14, yeah the end of the draft.. Long story short I ended up with..

Round 3 -(42) Frank Gore
5. (70) Beanie Wells
8. (99) Ben Tate
9. (126) Ryan Williams
11. (154) Jahvid Best
12. (155) Toby Gerhart
14. (183) Kendall Hunter

This is one of the worst groups I have ever ended up with, I was "flustered" the entire draft so I know how you felt lol.

I hope you lose week 1

Or Vick throws three TD's to Brent Celek but the Browns win 28-21.

I don't understand how Doug Martin, Cutler, and Roethlisberger are lasting that long.

I liked Martin but I took Tate for insurance on Foster and he didn't make it to my next pick. Cutler and Roethlisberger have mid tier Fantasy Point Projections. I know I took a gamble on Vick but the FP projections were to high for the end of the 6th to pass on him.

Certainly wasn't a criticism towards you, just surprised that's happening. Cutler I think has a chance to put up a ton of points this year.

The one that had me scratching my head was #10 Andre Johnson #11 Fitzgerald only because Johnson is always hurt and who is throwing the ball to Fitz??? That's a lot of risk for your first two picks in the draft IMO.

But this is my first year so I could be completely wrong.

Very well done. Nice team.

Things of note for me:

1. What is Team 8 doing drafting Cam Newton and Tom Brady???
2. I would have taken Jimmy Graham instead of AJ Green there.
3. What is Demarco Murray doing in Round 3? Is he hurt? Gotta check that.
4. DeAngelo Williams is a Top 10 RB talent that is stuck in a horrible RBBC+ situation including Cam Newton. But he's well worth a pick before Round 12! And Jonathan Stewart got hurt last week. That's the best value pick by far in your league.

Teams 3 and 9 are going to be really good. Very strong first handful of rounds.

LOL, I didn't notice that until someone told me at the end of the day. He is trying to work out a trade where he sends Brady and Sproles for Romo and McCoy, but I know a few of us will vote to not let that trade happen because it's pretty much Sproles for McCoy and that's too lopsided, plus he will have Newton and McCoy and that's pretty much two top ten picks in most drafts and then he has Cruz and Steve Smith, if he is able to get that trade through his team is going to be good.

I don't know how many votes it takes to block a trade but there is at least five of us that said they will vote no.

If I were in your league I wouldn't vote to block it.

It seems like a fair trade for both parties. In my view McCoy and Brady are about equal in value. And the team supposedly getting worked over has now in their first five picks:

QB Tom Brady
RB Matt Forte
RB DeMarco Murray
WR Hakeem Nicks
WR Jeremy Maclin

That's pretty awesome.

The only fubar thing about it is that Tom Brady went 13th overall when he should be going Top 5.

It's a fair trade IMO.

I don't block trades unless there is something fishy going on, or completely lopsided. If it benefits both parties, then it's fair trade. You're looking at it to block him from getting better- he has 2 good QBs, and is unloading 1 since he doesn't need both. But the actual players involved in whole are pretty equal, and would benefit both parties in some way. I would have to over rule as the commish if people are trying to block that.

JMHO

It just seems lopsided to me, I understand what you are saying. If the trade went through I think it would work in my favor for week one. I'm going against Team 5 in week one and right now projected points he has me by 3 points. (Obviously anything can happen) Brady is project to get 18 points week one Romo 16, that's a two point pick up, however Sproles is projected 8 points and McCoy projected 15, that's a seven point loss.

IDK, Team 8 weakness is that he didn't get really any RB's, he is stacked almost everywhere else and if he makes this trade I think he will be one of the top teams and a tough match up. I'll think about it, thanks for the input.

I ran it through KFFL's trade analyzer and it said to not to make the trade Team 5 was giving up too much, however I swapped McCoy for Forte and it said Team 5 was coming out ahead but it didn't say to not make the trade.
