Unless its clear that someone has ahold of two teams and is trying to stack one of them. Who are you guys to say who can trade what?
If you're ganna penalize a guy for trying to make his team better then what's the point?
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Because I think it's a lopsided trade, I have some questions on whether or not Team 8 is in control of Team 5. Team 5 was the last team to sign up, he didn't want to at first, he didn't show up to the draft so his team is Auto drafted and him and Team 8 work in the same department.

Who cares what you think? You arent making the trade, your team is not involved. whether you THINK its lopsided should have no effect on whether the trade goes through.
The fact is, no one knows how these trades will work out in the end, nor do we know how the draft will work out. Its all speculation. Only way trades should be blocked is if there is collusion involved or thought to be involved.

you'd be surprised how many "lopsided" trades end up being better for the team on the "short" end when it plays out. that said, if you think there is shadiness going on, then call it out.
otherwise, it seems to favor the McCoy/Romo side, but not by a ton IMO.

I guess I was under the impression that the point of the "Vote" on trades is to make sure trades are fair. The other guys in the league came to me at the end of the work day telling me about the trade and said it was a bad trade but Team 8 had talked Team 5 into it. This is my first time so I don't know proper etiquette, I was just going by what they said. If you guys say it's not right to block the trade then I trust the advice and won't block it.

if that is the case, then blocking the trade is fine. and really, it's your guys league, so you can play it however you want.
but, just realize that if you do block trades just based on perception of fairness (when both parties making the trade really believe it makes their teams better), then it's the quickest way to make sure you don't have the league the next season. if someone is being sneaky or a bully and trying to pull a fast one, then that is where you put the foot down.

I play in a large fantasy football and baseball Dynasty league (football has been going on for over 15 years, baseball is in its 6th season.
In football we allow all trades, no questions asked, however we all know eachother and have been friends for years and collusion is not an issue.
In our baseball league however we have some people that we have pulled from different owners friends and not everyone knows eachother. So in that league we do have a "vote" for trades. However votes are only allowed to be used if you believe collusion is going on. And if you do vote against a trade because you believe collusion is going on, you have to submit your reasoning on why, not just hide behind the computer and reject. (and as no_logo pointed out, more often then not, the team who is perceived to get the better end of the deal, doesn't in the end)
We have gone 6 years with this in place with only 1 trade getting votes against for suspicion of collusion (in year 1 and the owners [they are brothers] admitted to the collusion).
Simply allowing people to veto trades because they don't feel its fair is ridiculous and I would never play in a league that allows that.
PS...I am just thinking out loud mostly on this topic because it fires me up, not directing it at you FreeAgent, I know you are new to the Fantasy world.

and baseball dynasty leagues add a whole new factor into the discussion. the last place team may very well "sell off" his older good players in order to set his team up for the next season (even trading for someone currently on IR that will be back).

Yeah, it does, its makes trades very very interesting at times. Definitely need to keep an eye on the minors. Its funny some owners in our league just refuse to adapt and pay for prospects, but you can see how there teams have diminished each year not putting any effort into acquiring draft picks or prospects. It's a lot of fun.
It's head 2 head though, so there is still that element of luck that keeps some of the less talented teams in it. 12 team league, we keep everyone year to year, and typically there only 2 or 3 teams that are completely out of the playoff picture come the end of the season.
