The Broncos. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2806123When Mike Shannahan has needs on his defensive line he usually looks to Cleveland, and, believe it or not, he did it again. On Tuesday, the Broncos reached a four-year agreement in principle with Browns defensive lineman Alvin McKinley. McKinley becomes the eighth former Browns defensive lineman to join the Broncos in the past three offseasons. The timing of this signing, though, comes in interesting time for the Broncos. They are starting to unload some of the former Browns. On Monday, they released former Browns defensive end Courtney Brown because of knee problems. McKinley's re-signing probably ends the two-year stay of former Browns defensive tackle Michael Myers, who is an unrestricted free agent. The McKinley signing also comes at a time the Broncos are trying to finalize a Dan Wilkinson trade. Wilkinson has until around the draft to pass a physcal in order for the trade not to be voided. For several weeks, the Broncos couldn't find Wilkinson. He has been in contact with him, but there are some thoughts he might need a procedure done on a knee. The Broncos had been talking with Bears defensive tackle Ian Scott, but opted to sign McKinley instead.

I wouldn't have believed the signing without reading it with my own two eyes.....AND I still don't believe it. What a maroon!

I always thought that Shanahan was pretty smart,,, what the heck is he doing,, First he picks up pretty much the entire Dline from Cleveland, then he drafts Mo Clarett, granted it was in the fourth round,,but still...
What's wrong with him?

I wouldn't mind picking him up again. He played well in Denver after being a throw in player in the Droughns deal. In hinesight we should of given Denver the 6th rd. pick instead of Myers.

j/c: You guys have some stones on you. You keep making fun of Shannahan and the Broncos, but they continually have a better team than the Browns. While you are talking trash......they could be saying....."scoreboard." Trash talking when you are drafting third overall.

Give it a break. There is humor in this. Instead, you want to simply keep complaining about the team. I'm not happy with the team, have no mistake, but there can be humor in football... Plus, why would I care what a Bronco fan would be saying about what I'm typing on a message board? Your either taking your opinion or the message board's importance way too seriously...

The reason there is humor in it is b/c they sucked when they were here so why would the Browncos assume a change of location would do them any good? Especially when we could have resigned them and offered them a minimal contract.

You are right Vers...but they are not better because of our DLinemen
they let go of Myers, C.Brown and regret the long term contract given to BigMoney (actually re-strucured it...otherwise they would have cut him too)....and now they sign McKinley....it´s just too funny
I know some Bronco fans....FWIW, they say their DL is their biggest problem....

Id say not scoring was their biggest problem, but I guess its easier to chuck our old lineman under the bus.

As a rotational end, McKinley has plenty of value, especially in the 4-3.
Having said that, the irony in this is unbelievable.
All our former Browns did nothing for that team. Did the Donks know something we didn't?
Apparently not
Big Money turned into Fat Penny, Brown got hurt, and the others became situational/rotational players who did about the same for them as they did for us. Water will always find it's own level, and those players will always only be what they are. We were right to let'em go and the Donks are laughed at because of the move. It takes stones to sign another one of our former players, but that doesn't make the move a good one.
The irony in this is just comical.

Great Cartoon.
I do think McKinley will have some worth as a rotational 4-3 DE. But he's knowhere what the Bronco's need. He is pretty poor in the run game and disciplined gap responsibility is not what he's known for.
Their strength is in their LBs and DBs if their D has any notoriety its from the quality of those players and they got even stronger with the addition of Bly.
The Brownco thing is hilarious.
They actually could have the best D in the NFL if they had better DLmen.
It really is a shame...but then better for us. One less sure thing Super Bowl Team. Their Achilles heal is still exposed

I wonder why Nick Eason is still a free agent.

Toad, that's what baffled me about all these former Browns Dline signings in Denver... Just didn't understand it.. and for it to continue baffles me even more..
Here is the truly ironic thing however.. the only one of the bunch that had a decent impact was Myers.. and we just threw him to sweeten the deal..LOL
That's what's truly funny!

You've got to be kidding...... Well, they cut Courtney Brown after he failed his physical, so I guess they needed another Cleveland Brown to replace him. That is just odd that they're signing that many of them.
