Knowing what we know now, I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that he misspelled it because his mind was preoccupied with planning his staged assassination attempt.

Obama is a terrible president. Alarmingly bad. If he gets a second term, he will almost certainly surpass W. as the worst president ever.

Obviously you don't remember a guy named Jimmy Carter, do you? He was one of the worst presidents we ever had and now mr. obama easily takes that spot hands down. Somewhere in Georgia Mr. Jimmy is breathing a huge sigh of relief.

I remember Carter. Bush was a worse president than Carter.

And Obama certainly has a chance to surpass Bush in ineptitude - he's pretty much running Bush's third term on steroids. If he gets to run the fourth - which is likely - I'd say he'll go down as the worst.

I certainly can't see a guy named "Mitt" winning.

Seriously, where the heck are our standards????

Actually I like the name, there's possibilities for it. Barack just never worked.

When it comes to reducing the deficit he'll be forMITTable while MITTagating the situation.

If your name was Willard Mitt Romney, would you go by Willard?

You must not pay attention to PDR much. Obama could become the most liberal politician ever and he would still think he is the same as Bush. PDR has much different standards than everyone else on here.

Both parties wont correct the massive overspending problem.

So from the viewpoint of most libertarian types it doesn't particularly matter what you get.. If you think of America like a household...The country has 15,965,684,482,172.99 in debt. Each citizen's share of this debt is $50,947.55. What would you do with that amount of debt?

Both parties are financially a mess because spending less money means losing votes and firing a lot of people: it is basically impossible until there is some sort of major financial disaster.

I don't particularly care about politics now a days as I don't see the parties as that distinctly different. I dont see the libertarian party as a viable political option, and I dont see pointing out the debt and corruption as a fun way to spend my time.

Except now. And whenever else I comment..

I'd go by Will... until I could get a legal name change.

A "Mitt" is something used to catch and hold balls. I would not go by that name, ever. Besides that, it sounds like some hyper-pretentious, pathetically 80's, silver-spoon nickname.... I have flashbacks to bad 80's ski movies just hearing it.

Actually Milton "Mitt" Romney is his uncle and he was a standout QB at the U of Chicago and later played QB for the Chicago Bears.

what a reach... so sick of the RIGHT lean on this board... I love the board and most of the guys here, but we will never see eye to eye on politics.

The Republicans bankrupted the country, Obama inherited this. The republicans refused to work with him in anyway... I'd like to see a clean sweep of all politicians, but with the fringe ready to pounce on both sides, that's scary too.

How do you know that the picture wasn't reversed horizontally?

it's probably the first time he did it... why would he have done it before? From his POV it's left to right. Obviously he screwed up the photo op, but I highly doubt he doesn't actually know how to spell Ohio.

I mean, seriously? Do people really think he doesn't know how to spell Ohio?

Maybe you should ask the 'corpse man'.

I agree... it is. (Man... I can almost hear Mitt's voice saying it, too... with that chopped, stilted cadence of his.... )

I've seen some petty funny ones that feature Obama, too. Same look/same satirical flavor...

I love them all.

In some ways, it's the best vehicle for:

1. blowing off steam in a non-combative, angst-filled way.
2. getting a subtle message out... without being an outright turd about it.

There are some very clever, funny people out there in 'networld.' One or two of them might actually be found here, from time to time....

This is pretty funny:

If my house is threatened by a hurricane, the beachfront has moved about 200 miles.

Reminds me of a time when my brother was asked if one of the hurricanes that hit the Texas gulf coast had any impact on him because he lived in Texas. He said something like, "I hope not, I'm 800 miles inland."

He was living in Amarillo at the time.
