Lots of fun games today... Was most enthralled with mizzou and a&m's respective sec debuts. Tough days at psu and in Lincoln .... But all around this was one of those days you long for all summer. Blue skies and football!

UCLA is looking pretty good. They have always had talent, but Neuheisel was a horrible coach with a horrible staff.
There will be growing pains with Jim Mora, but beating Nebraska was a pretty big deal here in L.A.

After week 1 I was ready to give him back with his late game come from behind 1 point win over William and Mary... looked a lot better this week though they let Temple get back into the game in the 2nd half.

I think they're still in the corner in the timeout chair. 
And saying the Big Ten is "down" is being nice.
Through 2 weeks of OC the league is (16-8).
Their record against BCS conferences is (2-6), with the 2 wins coming from Northwestern (Syracuse, Vandy).
SEC: 1-1
PAC-12: 0-2
Big-12: 0-2
ACC: 0-1
Big East: 1-0
I guess I should point out Ohio State hasn't contributed to that crappy record though. They're too busy playing nobody.

That's fine and dandy. We took our lumps. Vacated or not we kicked Arkansas' ass in that game, As well as shredding UM the game before. We took our abuse for losing to SEC teams.
Michigan didn't belong on the same field as Alabama.

If Michigan put up that performance after 6-7 years under Hoke, I'd be a little more concerned. I know you're trying to fight the good fight but Ohio State fans need to give it a rest.....2006 and 2007 weren't that long ago and I'm sure you remember those games. Tressell was getting his doors blown off by the SEC after sustained success and carting out 100% of his own roster. Now it somehow reflects poorly on UM because Hoke, in year 2 of a rebuild, got beat just as badly?
No one claimed Michigan was on 'Bama's level but they at least sacked up and scheduled them. The reality is that it's unlikely a Big Ten team gets MNC game consideration without a marquee win out of conference. The league, as a whole, is rather average and has been for the last 5-6 years. They haven't put a team in the BCS championship for 5 seasons and in back to back years, OSU got torched by SEC teams.
So if you're advocating for not playing them, by making comments of Michigan not belonging, then no one should be whining when the voters view the conference as inferior to other leagues (when it comes time to pick 4 teams for the playoff)….or when it deems them as the lowest seed and gives them the #1 SEC school in the semi. Or better yet, when they just don't select a Big Ten school for the MNC playoff.
The timing was poor on Michigan's part (they're still flushing out the roster from the RR era…which was painfully evident on the DL/OL) but I am absolutely in favor of playing SEC teams each season. The only way the Big Ten is going to garner more national respect is to play these games and (obviously) win them.
Instead, the rest of the league ducks opponents and loads up on MAC, SWAC, MVC and CSU schools. Then a lot of people look around and wonder why, as a whole, teams are completely unprepared come post season. It shouldn't be a surprise that the toughest league (SEC) has the easiest time in bowl match ups.

well, and Pac12 schools. but, those games aren't going so well either.
and UCF is sort of in the Big East, right
(just kidding with you, I hate the general OOC scheduling including the Bucks. Always thought it should be 1 marquee, 1 lower level BCS-conference team, and 1 'other'. And, 9 conference games)

2013 they play @ Cal
2014 they play Navy (In Baltimore) and VaTech
2015 they play North Carolina and @ VaTech
2016 they play @Oklahoma
2017 they play @North Carolina and Oklahoma
I know they were supposed to play a Home-Away against Tenn in 2018/2019 but it looks that due to the 9 game conference schedule that series has been canceled.

Things could certainly change by then but scheduling the ACC isn't typically the best way to build your SOS...

Nobody can bag OSU for scheduling in recent memory. Home and home with Texas and USC. They scheduled that Miami home and home when they were still respectable...
As far as taking shots at OSU for '06 and '07...
I'll give you 2006. That team wasn't ready to play that game and read too much of their own press.
But 2007? They hung around with LSU despite them only being in that game because 3 or 4 other teams couldn't handle business.

No one would have done much better outside maybe USC in that game... give saban an entire off-season to prepare for a game that big and it was going to be ugly.
It's WAY too early to be talking OSU 'winning' the big ten (especially because we can't this year)
UM is still a very dangerous team and I expect them to be in contention for their division... same with Wisconsin in our division... I think OSU will win more games than last year, but there will still be some tough games to get through.

Just what Chip Kelly needs.... another weapon. Oregon commit Thomas Tyner ran for 643 Yards, 10 TDs in his HS game last night.
He was needed too because his defense gave up 63 points.

The things you can't teach, he excels at. He is a great kid, has an exceptional arm and is a phenomenal athlete. His throwing motion is okay. However his footwork and accuracy needs improvement. Give him 2 more years of college and hopefully 3-5 years of learning in the NFL he can fix those things.

Miller will make some really great throws, like that throw over the top, but he's really far away from being even remotely a polished QB. The nice (?) thing is that this year is a "practice" year for next year since the Bucks can't play in any bowl games this year.
