That was one hell of a game. Unfortunately, I had to miss part f it because I had to go lay down for a while. After the 1st quarter, I was sure that we were going to get completely blown out. I am very happy to have been proved wrong.

I will be honest, i dont really like Urban Meyer all that much, he just strikes me as a douche. But as a coach, i love his style. I am really impressed with what he has done with a very young offense. Keep Btaxton healthy and this team can be scary good next year.

While I loved the outcome of the game, however, I thought it was unnecessary for the Buckeyes to score that final TD with under a minute to play. Just take a knee, the game was over.

Hyde made the right decision. That plays was designed to run up the middle. However Nebraska completely sold out on it. Why risk the chance of getting hurt when you can have a easy TD?

When its a ranking system, every point counts. Score as much as you can, especially against decent opponents.
It's kind of odd to me how the Buckeyes defense looked so good, yet still gave up 38 points. But by and large they came to play. They forced what, 4 takeaways?

Point differential has been removed from the rankings formula and we are ineligible to be ranked in Coaches poll and BCS anyways, so it really doesnt matter. All that matters is that we win.

As the number of unbeaten teams gets smaller, its fun to think about OSU running the table and ending up in the top 2 or 3 of the AP Poll. Even if we can't participate, we could at least be a turd in the punchbowl at the BCS/NCAA party, not to mention the Big Ten tournament. If I'm a Buckeye thats what I'd be shooting for.
6 down, 6 to go ... @ Wisconsin for what will probably be a night game looks like the biggest challenge.

Wisconsin will be tough... UM is always tough... at PSU could be a tough game, they have looked MUCH better than I thought they would be this year...
So I can see three for sure games that could trip us up... and there's always a chance that someone else could beat us... long way to go, but I would think it'd be hilarious if we go undefeated.

I've got no problems running up the score on Nebraska, Michigan, or anyone else in the Big 10. Just don't get anyone hurt doing it.

Jadeveon Clowney is an animal. From the first game I watched of him I was blown away. He's going to be the first non quarterback taken when he declares guaranteed, and probably the first overall player regardless.

I think OSU is a pretty good team but I just don't see them going undefeated.
There's going to be a game, at some point, when their offense stagnates and I just don't see their defense being good enough to beat a better offensive team.
Maybe they scrape by in such a game again (they did against MSU but Sparty's offense is just terrible) but I would guess someone gets them.
I suspect they win the next 2 (8-0) and then lose at least 1 of @PSU, @Wiscy, Michigan. Still a great season (if it plays out that way).
The only thing I would worry about as an OSU fan is the defensive regression since Tressel left.
Part of it is a function of a higher tempo offense but they just have not been the same type of team on that side of the ball. I'm not sure why that is but something is amiss there? Especially when you look at how much experience they have (5 seniors, 3 juniors). They just don't play with the same type of physicality and agression.

Braxton is just playing unbelievable right now. With another two years in Meyer's system and two more years of recruiting athletes around him ... we could be scary in 2014.
As for this year .. Wisconsin and PSU will be very tough road tests (especially for our defense)

actually...I feel like everyone here on this board is looking at the name not the team.
Wisconsin and PSU just arent what theyve been. Penn State is palying decent...but, not as good as OSU, and Wisconsin? please...theyre bad this year. Michigan is the toughest test left for the Buckeyes...but away from the Big House...na.

i had no problem w the running play up the middle ...
but Nebraska's defense was not ready for that.

I'll say something that will be talked about.
Chip Kelly + Geno Smith
Chip's friends came out and said during the whole Tampa thing that he wouldn't coach the same offense in the NFL that he does at Oregon. He will adapt. However he will still coach at a fast pace.
Also I think his practice style is the new thing for the future. He practices full contact in the morning at a high fast pace. Not only that, but most coaches just have one corp set up at once. Chip has one in front of him and one behind him running plays full time. First team goes and while they get read he turns around to call the play for the second team and repeat. Double the practice snaps like that alone. Chip is all about maximizing everything. He will squeeze potential out of people. He runs a Zone blocking scheme which absolutely has proven to work in the NFL and he runs a no huddle.
My ONLY problem is that he rotates a TON of guys on defense because they get tired.

umm, why not Dana Holgorsen then?
his offense already is balanced and is more adaptable to the NFL directly than what Chip runs. and, we can keep Weeden in there to run it (if Dana views him as worthy).
i'm not advocating this (yet), but if we are talking about college HCs who deserve a NFL HC job, Dana is at the top of the list IMO.

why? both coaches have had success everywhere they went. Holgorsen in more places at a higher level of competition.
the main difference is that Holgorsen has a more traditional style offense (relatively at least) that relies on the RB running and the QB throwing. I think that will be more successful at the NFL level than Chip Kelly's style.
and, it certainly doesn't hurt that Holgorsen has a bit of a relationship with our present QB.
