Just wondering if anybody heard about the horrible murder in Sandusky? It appears a Black man 7 months out of prison killed a White woman. They found her naked between her matress and a wall. Her three year old daughter was strangled and raped. Her 18 month old son was strangled. He just got out of prison for killing another White girl in 1998. He did 10 years for this and they added on another three years for attacking guards.
I wonder why this isn't National News. Where the hell is Al & Jesse? I'm not saying this should be National news but neither should Travon Martin. I'm probably a Racist for posting this but I don't care . It pisses me off. This clown has been in trouble all his life for abusing women. The Courts didn't protect us, the media hushed it up. Any comments?

There are roughly 15,000 murders a year in the USA. Not all of them become national news. Trayvon became national news largely because of Stand Your Ground in Florida. How does this awful murder have a context in which a national debate can happen when everyone agrees its awful and there is no dispute? Edit to add; in back to back sentences you wonder why it isn't national news and then state you don't think it should be national news.

I don't think either should be National news. I think the media works to make trouble between the races.
From what I've read the Trayvon Martin shooting was text book self defense. The media blew it up and raised so much hell until Zimmerman was arested.

It's Tuesday afternoon.. the bodies were found Saturday, the arrest was yesterday. This story may develop some sort of legs and it may not.. The main reasons for the Martin case getting so much attention were simple and yes, race was a part of it (especially since the media kept calling the shooter a white hispanic.. )... so you couple the race thing with the suspicious nature of it with the 911 call and the stand your ground defense... there were a lot of variables and inuendo and such...
This seems like the case of psychopath who killed a poor girl and her 2 kids.. it seems pretty cut and dried... the fact that he's black and she's white is sort of irrelevant in this case.
And Al and Jesse are media whores who only show up when it benefits them, I'm sure they would be sickened by what this guy did (assuming he did it) but there is little need for them to fly to Sandusky to make a statement. I'm sure everybody is sick over this, whether they are black or white... any decent human being would be.

You forgot that Zimmerman is a white hispanic.  Love that one. The MSM is falling apart. Eventually bankruptcy will reshuffle this deck. And then maybe we can get honest reporting.

How? No one is defending this guy and no one would if he was white, Asian, Hispanic or anything else. Everyone agrees this is an awful crime and hopes the guy is punished. However, unlike the Trayvon story, there are no differing accounts, no legal questions, or anything in dispute and therefore no need to give it national attention since it is clearly a psychopath acting as a psychopath and getting caught.

What sickens me more than any other fact in this story is that he committed murder.....
AND WAS OUT IN TEN YEARS!!!
I'm not going to comment on the racial component in this story, because others have more than adequately made the point for me. But- damn. Ten measly years... and only 7 if he'd kept his nose clean while he was in the Big House?
Is seven years now the value of a human life?

The issue is that a black man killing a white woman and her child is not news.
A white man killing a black woman and her child is news for a month.
That's the bottom line. I wish it wasn't that way.

Is a white man killing a white woman news? At least on a national scale? Hate to say this but unless there is some type of intrigue to it, a man killing a woman is not national news at all, no matter the color.

It all comes down to the media outlet, and their ability to MAKE it national.
Other variables play in as well, such as race of those involved, other news stories in the headlines, major events going on around the same time, size of the reporting media outlet, time and desire for the national media to run the story.
On a slow news day that would probably at least had a blip on national level, but with the campains in high gear and current unrest in the Middle East Embassies, the timing is just off.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

I will tell you the single biggest bias that I see in how crimes or potential crimes are reported and it's Fox News... 2,300 people are reported missing EVERY DAY in this country but unless you are a cute white girl.. you aren't getting mentioned on Fox News.... if you are a cute white girl, they will do half hour segments dedicated to your story.

That Drew Peterson guy did a 2-fer wife murder, killing both Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson.. Glad to see that he was convicted of Savio's murder. A former cop in prison should be really popular.

Black on white crime is much higher than white on black crime. We generally only hear about crimes by whites committed on peoples of color because of protests or media sensationalism. There is a case in Norfolk where two white reporters were attacked by a mob of blacks. The paper they worked for wouldn't cover it, let alone anyone else.
Like someone mentioned earlier, you won't get any press for kidnapped or lost child if it isn't white. Nobody cares about black babies/children. Why should they since it isn't good for ratings.

Just found out that a Blaqck woman came forward stating she was raped by this guy. So far he has killed two White women, two babies and raped a Black woman. Still no National news. More women said to be coming forward. Remember the Duke players? When they found out the girl was lying it died out right away.
Are you telling me if this was White on Black it would'nt be a National story?

This story isn't being ignored by the national media because the guy is black.
The story is being ignored by the national media because it doesn't merit national news coverage.
By the standards of your wild premise, the media would've hushed up the O.J. Simpson case.

I am just saying, the national media picks up on stories that have drama and intrigue. Things that are going to capture peoples interest. Not to minimalize this brutal crime, but its a pretty straight
forward case. There was no missing people,no celebritys, no great who done its, no conspiracies.
I am sure it got local attention, but Dateline not doing a 20 minute piece on it has nothing to do with race, IMO.

DD, First, it is Sandusky Ohio, not a major media hub so the story might take some time to get out. Second, the crazy . was arrested. Not let go and claiming self defense! Now if he did all that crime and was let go, then it would make the majors. So there was no double standard. No media cover-up ( Like the media looked at some story out of Sandusky Ohio and said, " Yup, cover that story up"..Please!!) Now maybe somebody might want to ask why someone apparently crazy as hell was let out of prison in the first place.
