Cool. Not a lot of talking in it, and what little there was wasn't all that informative.
Looks like he got the jump from around, or just under 129,000 feet, from the video they showed his speed max out at 729mph, and freefall time of 4:16. Not sure about the speed record, but he did get the height record, and missed out on the freefall time record (according to what they showed on the video (4:29 ~ I think it was)).
Glad he is safe.
Side note: Did anyone else notice the two ladies smooching at the end of the video (almost made watching it all worth it)
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

I loved the huge control room ..... what the hell are they going to do if something goes wrong?

Too bad he couldn't of held on to the free fall for another 30 sec's. When he was standing on the edge of the capsule, I was totally in aw. I use to sky dive.but that was just crazy

Have you been to Johnson Space Center? I have, and I saw the 'Control Room' for the moon landings. It's incredibly tiny!

I think one article said he had 3 cameras on him, but they will probably release that later as the views may need to be editted so your not stuck watching a flapping cloth the whole time and stuff

I haven't seen the available video on this yet. Was there a sonic boom when he broke the sound barrier? I wonder what that felt like when it happened? Pretty impressive.

He said in an interview he couldnt tell when or if it happened. He wasnt even sure until they reviewed the data.
I assume it was because the atmosphere is so thin up there.

If it did happen it probably would have been more like a sonic burp.

Not sure what that sounds like. Does it sound like a thud followed by a groan?

And weeping. Don't forget the weeping.

Blasphemy!
What kid doesn't jump off the roof using only a bed sheet as a parachute? That's cool. I mean, the thought that you jump from that height, with only, basically, a bed sheet between you are the big splay ..........? That's like the ultimate return to childhood. (or human paste ...... if the chute doesn't open)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/15/msnbc-felix-baumgartner-speed-of-light_n_1967878.html MSNBC Says Felix Baumgartner Fell 'Faster Than Speed Of Light' Posted: 10/15/2012 2:53 pm EDT The world was watching Felix Baumgartner on Sunday when he completed the highest jump ever and leapt out of a balloon twenty-four miles above the earth's surface. Baumgartner, a daredevil skydiver, was the first person to break the speed of sound without being in a jet or spacecraft. The experience, he said, was "hard to describe because you don't feel it." This MSNBC chyron, however, overestimated his speed on Monday:

He'd understand.
It is MSNBC, after all.

Almost as fast as Obama's spin machine on Libya.
