The Dirty ... is my favorite of the Founder's batch, with the Breakfast Stout a very close second. The weekend they release their Kentucky Breakfast Stout is insane. The whole street is closed off for that day.
Oh cool. We were in Grand Rapids for two days back in Aug. We stayed at a hotel that has the 84th Street Pub attached to it (Baymont Inn I think). You know where that is? On 131 just south of 6.
GR was a nice little town.
With all this talk of Founders beer, I'll be heading to the store to pick up a 6 soon.

Working on a 12 of Sam Adams Octoberfest right now. Decent.
My all time favorite is Duvel.
Yum! I love me some of Sam's Octoberfest!
Recently, I've been on an Amber Bock kick.
My staples are:
Miller Lite Guinness (draft)

some of my go to beers (although Im far from an expert or beer snob)
Honey Brown Lager Oberon (brewed in Michigan) Newcastle Brown Ale Budweiser Bud Light Lime Summer Shandy (dont remember who makes it)
LOVE, love, love me some Honey Brown. Not too many people drink it. Shandy (Leinenkugel) is also my favorite seasonal.
I pretty much drink anything and everything. I was in L.A. last week, and spent 7 1/2 hours at a bar and grill that had 170 beers on tap, and got to try about 15 new ones.
Those 2 up there top my list, but there are so many others out there that I enjoy. I will say that my least favorite seasonals are the fall pumpkin ones. Not a fan. The light summer beers are my favs- they are usually light, crisp and refreshing on those hot summer days.

Natty Light - it's Bud Light minus the price tag.
Let me edit that for you:
Natty Light - it's Bud Light minus the beer.
Stuff tastes like water, thought only broke college kids drank it. If that's the only thing to drink, I'll drink it, but pretty much never intentionally have ever done it.

Sure do, been there a time or three. We don't normally stray much farther south then M-6 though.

Yeah, I had to stop in a fill up the ol' growler yesterday after talking about it.

Flap,
Forgive me if you've already mentioned it, but how often do you visit Hop Cat? That place rules! Definitely on my top 10 list in terms of beer bars (i.e. not breweries/brewpubs). They always have some great stuff on draft and a lot of Short's as well, which I can't find here in Ohio.
And yes, the KBS release is crazy, similar to Dark Lord Day at Three Floyds!

Hopcat is a GREAT place. We tend to get there quite regularly when we are hopping around downtown. It was actually listed as the #3 beer bar in the country last spring I believe. I used to know one of the brewers down there too (they do brew their own stuff also), but he's since become the head brewer at Pike 51 down the road in Husonville. Sadly, that also means that my 'on the house' beers are gone with him. The owner of that place has really made a mark on downtown GR the past few years. He's got a number of different places that have become strongholds for entertainment and nightlife. Nice enough guy too, fwiw.
