So, all day at work today people were discussing this video on the internet of a Cleveland area RTA Driver being harassed by a female rider, then assaulted which leads to his punching the woman...

It was absolutely insane and it makes me happy that I have my license back and no longer have to go downtown to see a PO....cuz I had been having to make a long bus ride from Solon to Cleveland twice a month for quite awhile; and I had seen my share of verbal abuse coming from some seriously ungrateful and idiotic passengers...I had thought that their would be a fight several times as passengers would shout obscenities and threats at the driver for the duration of our trip.

At work, people were saying that this bus driver hasn't been fired, but only suspended for the moment. And this is really crazy...after watching the video for myself I would have thought that the dude would be in jail by now,,,

Has anyone seen or heard about this?

Did it appear she shoved him while he was driving? Yeah, it does look like she did. Did she deserve the ridiculous uppercut she got? IMO, no. I would've stopped the bus and told her to get off my bus.

I'm probably in the minority with my opinion and that's fine. I'm just of the thought that physical violence doesn't justify the means to its end. Do you send a message and fear? Yeah, but I'm sure there's a much better, including safer, way to get the point across.

He should have rotated his hips a bit to get more force on the punch.

Just a bit more on the story, she didnt push the driver, she punched him and sliced his eyelid. Also, when the CPD arrived the female had to be tased in order to be restrained.

She put the whole bus in jeopardy by attacking the driver of a moving bus in a crowded urban area. He did what he had to do to remove her from the bus.

Would people feel differently if it was a male that got punched? What about if it was a female driver?

Uppercut was a little much. I'd support them being able to use some sort of non-lethal force though like a taser. The rider was clearly in the wrong for using the language, spitting and hitting the driver. Couple that with the danger of doing that while the bus was moving and she's endangering other riders and other cars and pedestrians.

Hope she goes to the pokey for a few days and he gets unpaid suspension and training but not fired.

I know Mike has had financial problems, and he has Cleveland ties, but I didnt know Tyson took a job with RTA

My first thought...BOOM! KTFO! and then I laughed hysterically that this guy just did what everyone wants to do when ANYONE acts like a complete jerk right to someones face.

And 9 times out of 10 when a girl is acting that way its because theres no physical ramifications for acting like that much of a jerk to someone...Not anymore for her.

Its not okay..butman, dont act that way and that wont happen period...guy, girl...whatever

I wouldn't mind buses having security buttons that call the cops and track a GPS to them.

The lady harassing the bus driver is crazy. And the bus driver is crazy. I never really understood yelling back at someone. He seems incapable of handling the situation diplomatically and escorting her off the bus. He was really lucky she didn't have a knife or gun. The guy in the orange safety vest could have helped out more.

I don't think ive ever seen an uppercut from so low and so unexpectedly. That kind of cracked me up.

I think he threw the uppercut from too far away, he needs to work on his technique a bit.

Granted, he probably shouldn't have uppercut her. Maybe just physically throw her off.

The worst part of this is the fact that this woman probably thinks she did nothing wrong, and will play victim.

that uppercut was brutal.. it caught me off guard the way he did it.. i can't help but laugh though..
