Ravenna-Field, 15-14 win, ATL falcons logo

I saw the Ravenna-Field football game in which Ravenna won on a last-second TD. Upon further review, I saw that the TV crew had used the current Atlanta Falcons logo for Field HS (at the bottom of your screen). Is this legally allowed?

For reference, the Field HS logo looks different.

I have a question. Why do you care?

because in today's society, copyright violations are big news and if someone is found violating them it's a big punishment. I always thought the NFL was very careful about who or what could re-use its logos, esp. for HS sports and on a FSO broadcast.

Otherwise, I would not care.

"From an NFL standpoint, hundreds of high school and youth programs use NFL nicknames or team logos and we think that's great," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said. "We support football wherever it's played. We do vigorously protect the trademarks of our teams, but when it comes to a youth team or a high school using a name or logo of a particular NFL team, that's not an issue with us."

My hometown HS used a helmet that is identical to Green Bay's beside some color changes

The NFL does, a lot of colleges don't. A number of high schools in this area recently changed their mascots/logos because they were very similar (ie. exactly like) major college logos.
