Yes, I picked this up from Mike & Mike, and I'm sure its been discussed by more taking heads than just those 2. The entire AFC only has TWO teams with winning records. http://www.nfl.com/standings?category=confWorth discussing?

and one of those teams is Baltimore who lost Suggs, Ray Lewis, L.Webb
Ngata will likely be playing hurt as well.
and the other team was Houston who just got destroyed on SNF

Suggs is back to practice this week. But Ngata is playing hurt.
We very well COULD win more than we expect. And definitely at least be more than a handful for most.

the difference for us is, we seem to be a team on the rise, while Baltimore and Pittsburgh seem to be on the decline.

I was getting the same feeling, but Ozzies probably got some wonder stud who he was hiding to replace lewis and I see them winning the division. Pittsburgh maybe in trouble playoff wise but everytime they fall off the hunt they end up with a fix.
Cinci is young they are who we are trying to catch for the next 5 year battle.
Lets hope we stay the course. We are set up to be a major player in the NFL in a couple years.
If you need 3 years to be a winner you got here 2 years to early. Get it done Browns.

Ok here's a long shot.
With the ravens losing Webb and lewis, Pittsburgh definitely not Pittsburgh this year, and the bengals, well they the bengals. Do we have a shot to sneak the division if we can beat steelers twice?
ravens- 5-1 ... has 7 really tuff games left if u count pitt twice. they games have been really close. w/out lewis and webb their fortune may change. but will it be enough?
Pitt- 2-3 I really dont see them making .500
Cincy 3-3
Cle- If we beat the colts, ravens @home, pitt 2, chiefs, raiders, Thats 7 wins. And thats very doable!!!! If we could beat any of the other 3 (broncos, chargers, cowboys) we 8-8.

Before we started the season I said that if we can go 3-3 or even 2-4 the schedule opens up nicely. But we sit at 1-5.
I don't think it's possible to get in the playoffs but I didn't the last time we got to the playoffs either. There's always hope!

Couple of comments.
My optimism for the season has vanished with today's events even though I like Haslam. But today ushered in a dark cloud of uncertainty that I believe will filter down to the players and will have an effect on the field. JoeT, JoeH, Richardson are the only guys who do not have to worry about being here next year.
I just don't know how players are supposed to focus on being the best they can be when their coach, when the GM that believed in them, are 99% gone.
No joking, I thought we could win the next three and go into the bye at 4-5. I just think this cloud of uncertainty is going to be too big too overcome. My excitement level is near zero.

I'm glad that was posted under "RantSports" because that seemed more like a rant from an angry fan than anything written by somebody knowledgeable. Why did you waste your time reading that? Highlights: "This week’s game against the Cleveland Browns is a guaranteed win for the Indianapolis Colts. At least it should be. I can say with 100 percent certainty that the Browns will not win this game." How can you say it SHOULD be a win (uncertain) while saying you are 100% certain?  When you compare each position for each team the Colts come out on top in literally all of them but running back. I'm not going to break down every position, but this is just dumb. Do the Colts have somebody better than Joe Thomas and Joe Haden? Do they have a better kicker than Dawson? Is their return guy rated better than Cribbs either this season or for their career? I don’t expect Weeden to go much over 120 yards through the air Sunday. Please. Ok, I finally realized you were joking when you posted this!!!

I hate to admit it but Im in the same room. Everything I was feeling good about is now clouded by mystery and I as you have said dont see how that wont move down to the players as well.
Darn the media this should have been a Welcome to the NFL Haslam. Instead its OH look the Browns new owner cant even do that right,.

If everything falls into place, and I mean everything (Pittsburgh continues to slide, Cincy continues to be Cincy, we improve each week) then I think the best we do is 2nd in the AFCN but miss the playoffs by a couple of games. I see that as our best case scenario right now. Which is a big improvement.

I think a question worth asking with that is: Do you think the AFC's teams have improved to the point where we could see a lot of teams going 7-8 / 8-8 / 9-7?
Personally, I think it's (finally) a dynasty change. There are a few teams on the decline like: Pittsburgh, New England, Saints, and to an extent the Chargers. There are teams on the incline like:Texans, Atlanta, Redskins, Vikings, Cardnials, or the Sea Chickens. I think this is causing a lot of teams to split games.

for sure for sure.... i believe we are a better team and have been playing better than colts, chiefs, raiders, pitt. And w/out lewis @ home I think we should beat the ravens, they barely beat us on the road.
I said 6-8 wins in the preseason. After game 4 i still thought we could win atleast 6. This team is young and fiesty. They have been in every game this year. 5 more wins is very possible!!!! I think the playoffs and winning the division are a very long shot, dependent on total collapse by the ravens. But it is very doable to beat colts this weekend, chiefs, and raiders. Pitt twice is another "if only" but i do think we can get them twice this year. They are injured and not playing well at all.

If someone put a gun to my head and said to select the AFC playoff teams for this season, I'd say:
AFC East: Patriots
AFC North: Ravens
AFC South: Texans
AFC West: Broncos
Wildcard #1: Chargers
Wildcard #2: Steelers
The Wildcards aren't playing very well right now, but I really can't see another team in the AFC making a run (Oakland, Cincinnati, Tennessee, Buffalo, Miami, and Jets).

I will stick with my 6-8 win prediction.
On the game by game predictions, I had us beating the Bengals once, but I also had us beating the Bills. (which, obviously, we didn't)
I do still think that we can get to 8 wins, but 6 or 7 is far more likely.

Quinn started in the Chiefs' loss at Tampa Bay two weeks ago because Cassel was still feeling the effects of a concussion sustained the previous week against Baltimore.

Crennel said Monday that he hopes changing the quarterback "will get everybody's attention and hopefully that impacts the team."
Cassel had committed 14 turnovers in the first five games of the season. He was completing just 58.5 percent of his passes for 230 yards per game.

I mean, Brady did such a fine job in his start against the Bucs ...... going 22-38 for a whopping 180 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, a massive 4.74 yards/attempt, while leading them to a truly impressive 10 points.
