OSU scheduled with Oregon for 2020 and 2021 IIRC


I believe Ohio State tries harder than any D1 school to beef up there schedule year in and year out. Even in doing so the national media does nothing by ridicule and hate on Ohio State football. Sure they play the MAC every year, but the SEC plays the Sun Belt.

A home and home with Georgia had to be cancled with the new Pac-12/Big-10 annual game.

they need to play a MAC school each year. it's good for the state.
they need to play a premier outside the Big10 game. it's the only way to compete for a nat'l title.

i just wish that 3rd game OOC (as I believe the Big10 is moving to a 9 game conference schedule at some point, right?) was another lower level BCS conference school.

right now, playing 1 premier, 1 MAC, and 2 fluff doesn't do much for the old SOS when the Big10 is sucking on rocks.

The Bucks do beef up their schedule as much or more than most schools.

I don't know that the media zaps the Bucks as much as they are hitting on the Big 10 and why the Bucks try to get a Texas or someone else on there....who knows....in 10 years the Big 10 might be strong as heck and they won't need or want to beef up the schedule as much.

As for the small schools, all the big boys need to play one at least once a year. It's good for college football to have vibrant programs across all levels of football, and the way to do that is to give those smaller schools a near program paying game a year.

The SEC plays many Southern Conference schools, and they should. The SEC spun out of the Southern Conference many years ago, so there are historical ties between the two.

The Gators don't go out of conference against a name opponent all that much because they don't really need to do so, but we do have a standing date against Florida State each year who are usually at least pretty darn good to being one of the best in the country.

I suspect if we didn't have that game on an annual basis, we would seek out a brand name team to round out the schedule.

You don't need to worry. If the Bucks do what they can do, you have a brand name team, and a brand name coach. The Bucks will have as much chance to play for championships as anyone. Especially when we go to a 4 team playoff format..I think that starts in another year.

At least college football doesn't rob the fans of money by making you pay for 2 fake games before your season starts.

I know when Ohio State plays UAB or Miami of Ohio or some other non-BCS conference school that it's a 99% chance OSU wins, but those bullets are still real. You still have to make your plays. It's still watchable football.

The NFL preseason becomes less and less watchable every year. If it wasn't for the dryspell between February and August, nobody would watch. It's crap.

It's going to be interesting to see how Bama does against good teams the next two weeks. They've proven they can dominate teams they should dominate.

Somehow, I think they'll be okay lol.

I worry about Bama being able to come from behind a few scores especially if that team is bottling their run game...

Problem is I don't see anyone who could do both. I think Oregon could possibly jump ahead but no way are they stopping bama's run attack. Too damn big on the OL. Too deep at RB.

A classic Big Ten team could give them a run. The big ten is abysmal now.

If they don't win it all its their own fault.

Stanford's D is what you need to bottle them up.
Oregon's O is what you need to score enough points.

But, I don't think any team has both unless Kansas State really is as good as they have played the last couple of weeks.

Oregon's defense is underrated this year.

Don't worry, guys ... It's getting to be about time for Oregon to have their annual letdown game.

USC beats them.

I guess they could, but do you trust Barkley vs. Oregon's defense?

I feel like this is typical Oregon.

Every year, "Their defense is better than advertised!!!!!"

Someone will carve that defense up soon enough, might as well be Barkley.

they are designed to stop the pass and spread runs. it is not a great defense, but it doesn't have to be against most teams (Bama obviously is not most teams).

they should shut down USC. USC has the talent, but Barkley couldn't carve up Washington, Stanford (one good one), or Cal. I don't see him doing it to Oregon.

I could see Stanford use their power game to throw Oregon's D off. Oregon State has a pretty balanced attack they might be able to hang some points. Both more than USC this year unless they "woke up" against Colorado (i'll go with the Buff are just that bad)

The only team I think can beat Oregon is Oregon State. The Beavers have good defensive players.

now that's a game I would watch!

You know we just drafted a guy under pretty similar circumstances and he's working out pretty well for us so far.

I dont know enough about how Mr. Honey Badger fits into our scheme. But if he can play FS or CB2 and can be had late-ish in the draft, that would be quite a steal.

Janoris Jenkins was drafted in the 2nd round.

Burfict had a very bad Pro-day that likely tanked his chances of being drafted. From what I recall he also had lousy interviews.

Janoris Jenkins, Mike Adams, and our own Josh Gordon all had positive tests for pot and were second rounders this season.

Drug problems aren't usually that detrimental to draft slot.

Being very slow and having a crazy personality can make you go undrafted.

Lattimores football career might be done after that nasty knee injury.
