I hate to say it but I learned something from this Bama game as it relates to Cleveland. Winning teams win for a reason. When they get down, they maintain their composure and confidence. They know they can make plays to win a game.
A team like Cleveland always has a deer in the headlights look and they try not to lose. They get tentative and become afraid of making plays.
Bad teams make excuses and great teams make plays.

Yup, gotta be able to take a punch. Look at the Philly game and look at last week. Vick drives em down at the end but we still had 2+ minutes i believe only needing a FG for a win. Last week we had 4+ minutes after Flacco did the same.
We panicked. We didn't know what to do. Some of that comes with experience, but it also has to do with coaching.
McCarron has to make a better throw there, plain and simple. It is clearly not Bama's day, but man Saban still had them in position. They're still a hell of a football team.

Well .... Georgia is ranked 5th in the nation at 8-1 ..... and Auburn is 2-7, with their only 2 wins coming against La-Monroe and New Mexico State ... so of course it's a surprise that they are up on Auburn big. lol

I would love to see Notre Dame in there. they're almost a carbon copy of that 2002 Ohio State team. That defense is probably the best in the country, I would love to see what they could do against Oregon. I do see Kansas State choking. throw logic out the window here. Kansas State will be feeling serious heat the next 2 weeks. Just like west virgina 5 years ago.. Kansas State doesn't play in championship games. THey choked in 98, I see the same thing happening here. It will be Oregon Vs Notre Dame.

I don't think that it was right to put 2 SEC teams in the title game last year. LSU beat Alabama in Alabama and won the conference. They earned the right to be in. Then the BCS has an SEC bias that says their #2 team is better than the best team in any other conference. To me that is a load of crap. You shouldn't be in the national championship game if you aren't the best team in your conference. And don't give me any well Alabama won argument. If both teams in the title game are from the SEC, of course an SEC team will win it.

The goal of the BCS is not to be fair. The goal is to determine who is the best football team. Last year Alabama and LSU were the two best so they played a game to determine who was better. Alabama won.

Oklahoma State had a very good argument last year that they were just as good and their schedule backed it up (they were better in SOS due to Bama missing the best teams in the other SEC division).
And, it was incredibly unfair to LSU as well. When two evenly matched teams play twice in the same season, the team that lost the first matchup have had the advantage.
It was every bit the mistake that giving Michigan the #2 slot would have been in 2007.

They were the 2 best teams? Because "they" subjectively said so? Because of an SEC bias. Oklahoma State should have been in that game. They lost only one game, in overtime, 3 days after a plan crash took the life of one of the schools coaches.
And I agree it isn't about being fair. It is about determining who the best team is. LSU showed that they were the best SEC team last season. But how to we know that they were better than Ok St?
As for Alabama, they lost to LSU then they beat LSU. Why is that 2nd game more important than the 1st? How does that determine the National Champion? Who was really the better team, LSU or Alabama? And how do we know that either was better than OK St?We don't so it failed miserably.
The solution is an 8 team playoff. The champion of the 6 BCS conferences and 2 at-large bids. 4 games on New Year's Day. What a great college football day that becomes again. Right now all those games are meaningless and most are crappy match-ups. Then 2 games the next full week later then the National Championship game. Only extends the season 1 week at most from where it is now.
