Just for giggles, New Mexico should be bantered about as a #1 seed IF they win out. Record would be 30-4, at least a 2 game coverage of the MWC, the #1 rated RPI conference. Couple that with the overall #2 RPI as a team, the most wins in the country over top 100 teams (16), NO loses outside of that same top 100, the #3 Strength of Schedule, #5 SOS out of Conference.

Thats a #1 Seed resume

Cincinnati has played themselves out of the tournament last month, and I don't expect a different result against Connecticut this time around from the last.

They are a prime top 4 seed candidate to get bounced early. They simply don't shoot well enough (251st nationally @ 41.7%). Honestly, I don't know how they are 24-4. They don't do anything all that well.

Can't argue the field goal %, however the rest.....

Quite simply, thßy find a way to win. Any of 8 guys could score 20 a night. They have two solid post players who can pass and shoot from the perimeter and experienced guard play. And they play exceptional defense. They just win, on the road and at home. Thats all that matters.

Yes I'm quite biased of course
but bounced early as a 4th seed- I think not!

Question: Lebron James has said he is an OSU fan and would have gone to OSU if the 1 and done rule was in effect. Would he have won a national championship? I remember UCONN won in 2004 with Ben Gordon and Emeka Okafor. It's just something I've wondered. I think he could have but I might be biased. We could have because Terrance Dials was a beast and LBJ would have been nasty with him. The reason why I say no is because we didn't have Matta.

Ok, then it becomes..

Emeka or LeBron? (Assuming UConn wins still)

(Due to Dwight having to One and Done also)

And do we still tank hardcore (as we did) in 03 if Ohio native LeBron is eligible to be drafted?

Lebron also couldn't have played at TOSU because he never would have been eligible , academically, or improper benefits wise.

I thought Lebron said it would have been UNC as much as it could have been OSU.

Either way his team would have been really good. I don't think OSU had the bodies to get far back then.

Could Gonzaga and New Mexico be #1 seeds? Wouldnt that be something...

If any year that this would/could happen, this is the one...but wow. No Kentucky in the field, and Gonzaga and New Mexico as top seeds

I'm actually even more excited about MM this year, I got 2 squares in a pool. You can win money on every game in the tournament. Plus there aren't crappy numbers in basketball, like there are in football.

I actually have decent luck with gambling, but whenever I do football squares, I'm always that guy that ends up with a 2 and 8.

I'll give OSU credit. These guys are not intimidated by the big stage. It helps playing at Kansas, Duke and Sparty in years past. Also playing on the final 4 stage.

Kentucky is not any good, so don't think I'm trying to say that, because I'm just not.

But...

This whole "Kentucky is out" talk is ridiculous. Now if we lose to Georgia on Thursday, then we'll need to sweat a little more. But if we beat Georgia (which we should) I think we're in.

Kentucky's resume :

20-9
11-5 conference record
RPI : 51
SOS : 56
vs. Top 50 : 1-4
vs. RPI 51-100 : 5-5
vs. RPI 101 and greater : 14-0

Quality wins : Missouri
Worst losses : Baylor (RPI 69) , Texas A&M (84)

Boise State :

18-8
8-6 conference record
RPI : 44
SOS : 67
vs. RPI top 50 : 3-5
vs. RPI 51-100 : 3-1
vs. RPI 100 or greater : 10-2

Quality wins : Creighton, UNLV, Colorado State
Worst losses : Nevada (RPI 166), Utah (RPI 187)

Boise is in and Kentucky is out? Sorry, I don't buy it.

Missouri is a better win than any of Boise State's wins, and the losses aren't even close.

Are they really saying Boise is in because they beat Creighton, UNLV, and Colorado State, while ignoring the losses to Utah and Nevada.

No way.

I'm proud of these kids. Played elite championship caliber defense. Reminds me of the game @ Sparty last year.
