FYI, I was in the Europe fan club. The problem was that it was based in Sweden, and whenever I'd send something to them, I had to pay out the nose in postage.
Quote: I took a PTO day for Friday. Don't want to be short on my paycheck for the week. Contrary to what people say....I'm determined to take it with me.
I took Friday off because my company has a "use it or lose it" vacation policy. Just wanted to make sure I got it all in.

Im off next week, since I don't think the world will implode but rather a zombie invasion will take over, so I figure I'll be busy going on a zombie rampage.

If anybody is not going to need their savings or their retirement money or any particularly nice cars after Friday, I'll be more than glad to hold onto it all for you.

That's pretty good.
It does make me think about the nutjobs that wanted to have family pets euthanized in preparation for the impending rapture a little while back though
I took the day off to go skiing on Mt Hood, a dormant but 'active' volcano. If the world is going to end by natural cataclysmic events maybe I'll be at ground zero for an awesome volcanic show. Or I'll just have an awesome day on the slopes. We're supposed to get around 30" of fresh snow this week.

That's not possible, climate change has eliminated snow hasn't it?

Well I'll say this. I've lived in Portland for 11 years. The first few years I lived here the 3 local resorts were open by Thanksgiving day. Over the past few years that opening date has gotten later and later. Last year I don't believe SkiBowl (a lower elevation resort) ever got enough snow to open. As a hiker I also can see with my own eyes how much smaller the glaciers have gotten each summer. So yes at 6,500+ft above sea level there is plenty of resort snow this year. Hopefully more is on the way so that I can get into the back country to ski a little.
I start my vacation tomorrow (hey I didn't want to waste any of those vacation days.) But what the heck I lived through the ice age and I am sure I will survive this as well.
I suspended paying all bills about the middle of November knowing this day was eminent, but I have to go now. I just noticed I don't have any water pressure here at the house since stepping out for a few hours and have to go figure out what the problem might be.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Well, Al Gore has kept it from snowing here in central New York. We haven't even accumulated an inch of the white stuff (in fact, my yard could almost use a mowing) and our first snow of any kind could come...on Friday, in time with the Winter Solstice.

They dropped the feather and bone head-dresses, crossed the border into Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California and are working on farms storing up food for the big day when they will retreat into hiding into their temples with huge hidden undergraound lairs.
