Amendola and Gibson are FAs this offseason. So are a starting OG and OT for them and Steven Jackson, and as we all know, you can only fill so many holes at once. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/01/01/free-agents-st-louis-rams/They only have 1.8M in cap space, too, so resigning any of those guys is going to be a challenge without major cuts.

There is a reason why I said what I said.
You just listed a bunch of no namers. I will give you Amedola.

Oh thank you, so kind of you.
Quick was the 33rd overall pick last draft and was known to be somewhat a project (their version of Gordon) and Givens was the 1st pick of day 3 (4th round) for them and caught 42 balls for 698yds
In your venture to unnerve me you must have missed my point. I never said they have a great WR group. Those "no names" were rooks last season and fairly high investments and they won't give up on them just yet...otoh, on the OL they have even les talent AND no production. Get the difference now? Ask any Rams fan what they need more: OL or WR...go ahead and do it and then come back to me

If that's the top 5 that means Geno Smith did not get drafted. If that happens, we can either happily draft Smith or get a boatload of picks from someone like the Cardinals or the Jets who would be happy to draft him. Weeden is 7 years older than Smith and with the new draft cap, he makes about $350,000. The current regime has no ties to Weeden and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Browns draft Smith with the 6th pick. However, I think there's no way Smith goes any lower than 3rd so it's a bit of a moot point.

Yeah, if he doesn't get chosen by one of those top 3 teams, he's getting drafted out of one of those spots. It just seems like teams are ready to grossly overpay for anyone that looks like they can be good.
I like Geno a lot. I think he has some very good qualities, but I think he's somewhat of a project, and I wouldn't waste a first rounder on him.

Weeden is due to make $1,836,936 million in 2013. Still not that much, a lot more than $350k. Link
