Yeah, a metallic, deep burnt orange would be sweet.

There are some fan designed uniforms here. I really like aspecys of some of them. I really like the dark gray pants on the last one on the page. There are aspects of the 2nd to last one that I like. I really like the 3rd design, but the numbers need a bolder white outline. I actually like the idea of having the stripes on the uniform from underside of the shoulder down to meet up with an identical stripe on the pants. As I said before, I like the orange socks with orange and brown shoes. Anyway, there are a total of 5 different designs at the link. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2013/01/browns_new_uniforms_what_do_yo.html#incart_2box

I don't like when teams that never had gray or black as a part of their original 2-3 color scheme suddenly start using it. I'd hate to see the Browns go that route. Give us our colors. We haven't seen colored pants regularly since the 80's. Just bring those back. No need to add a color we've never used. Use the ones we have.

YTown, from that link, I like this one: I don't think you can force all the players to wear the sleeves, but it would rock. And yes, I wouldn't mind a Brown or White helmet every so often. I think a flat White helmet would look great with the above combo.

Punch, that may be the one, although I would like the orange to not look so lame like they did when we wore the orange jerseys 10 years ago (give or take).
I dunno why people didn't like the brown pants when we tried them in '08. I thought they looked good. They looked really sharp for the road set with white jerseys.

The sleeves and the socks are a little bit much. The sleeves with solid socks would look better I think.

Because they associated those Brown pants with Brady Quinn. That would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth.
And yes, the bright Orange jersey's from a while back were kinda awful. They need to find a "mean, dirty, dark Orange".
I really like the Orange/Brown jersey/pants combo (even flipped too). The all White's or White/Brown are a bit stale to me (still a classic look, but I want something new).
I hope Haslam has fun with this....push the edge. I want a reason to buy a new jersey.

Anything is better than the old reason for getting a new jersey -- the players who's name is on the back is no longer on the team.

I vowed to never buy another player jersey until we won a Super Bowl or a player of ours is going to the HOF.
I have a White and Brown....with my last name. I enjoy wearing them while on my motorcycle...throw it over a hoodie and be on my way.
I suppose I also have an Orange jersey too, but "EDWARDS" is taped over to say "J.INGLESIAS" (#17 WR for the Bears - so I can wear it to Chicago home games).
As for the new jerseys, they'll obviously be made by Nike. I tried on a Bears jersey a while back, it fit like crap. When I raised my arms the whole jersey raised up, as if the sleeves were too tightly connected to the pits. Maybe I'll have to try again.

My wife has been advocating for a return to the ugly orange pants of the Sipe era.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

I just wonder if it would make the whole thing look weird, if they went with an orange that was dif than the helmet. Maybe a darker orange would look good with a metallic helmet, where they would have some wiggle room to mess around.
If you mess with the color, on a normal helmet, people will go nuts. If you make a special helmet, reserved for a few games a year, you can kind tinker with the color.

I would also love to see a white uniform jersey with a medium gray pants

I had a similar idea... wasn't sure exactly how to implement it but I was imagining some kind of low diagonal gradient on the jersey

Not really crazy about gradients on a football uniform. Don't take this the wrong way, but, unfortunately, to me it almost looks like the jersey and pants were washed together in hot water.
Now a white jersey with orange and brown shoulder stripes, maybe with orange numbers with a brown drop shadow, and medium gray pants would rock.

Haslam agreed not to touch the helmet when he purchased the team. it was a condition of the sale. It must remain as it is.

There are some sharp alternatives in there too.
I honestly believe that the uniform can be updated in a sharp manner, without it becoming gaudy like some have. There are a lot of nice starting points on a lot of the posts on this thread.

If they could make it look even more old school like the leather helmets back in the day I'd be on board too.

Wow these are amazing. I would be very happy with essentially all of them but 4 and 7 are really a class above.

Ya, one or two nights a year.
Something to roll out against the Steelers or Bengals (since they have throwback uni's too).

Put a orange helmet on that and I could go with that.

I don't like this look at all. A white helmet for special games? Maybe. A brown helmet? Eh...We don't want to look like the Steelers with their awful bumblebee uniforms.
I'm hoping the new uniforms incorporate a darker orange, even on the helmet (just keep the scheme and stripe the same, no logos). It seems that the Browns' orange keeps getting lighter and lighter (almost to the point of being neon). It's time to reverse that trend. I'd like to see either a darker orange jersey or pants with a orange helmet to match. I think we all remember how awful the orange jerseys were with the non-matching orange helmet.

Secondly, the uniform. Northwestern has a concept I absolutely love. They dropped their shoulder stripes and have a sweet horizontal stripe on the middle of the jersey.
http://www.sippinonpurple.com/2012/7/26/...re-here-stripey
I think their away unis are damn near perfect. I would envision keeping the white pants and using a brown stripe on the whites and a white stripe on the browns.
Like I said, it would freshen up the look, but wouldn't be overly radical or tacky like an Oregon or Seattle uniform.
Ha, I remember watching Northwestern this season, and seeing that uniform (white) for the first time.
Thought they were HORRIBLE. Just saying, I hate those uniforms, but to each his own.

I actually like that helmet quite a bit. Maybe a gray or white stripe down the middle instead of the dark brown ....... but if they came up with something like that, I wouldn't complain.

Nike has a uniform creator type gimmick, this is my Oregon State edition of the Cleveland Browns. I'd make the Brown a more darker richer color, plus the "BROWNS" on the front would be smaller, but it wouldn't let me shrink it...
