Thanks Mike. Recovery is on schedule. I had a couple issue immediately after the surgery, but all is going smooth now. Will be placed in my next cast on April 10th.

This board is lame & bores me. I would happily leave & stay gone but there is not enough other Smackers out there laying it on you lowly Cleveland Clown fans. I feel it is my duty to remind you of your lowly stature & squash your "delusions of grandeur". It's a tough job but somebodies got to do it!

P.S. - Don't worry the Bengals & Steelers will return in September to resume their "Beatdowns" of the Sad Sack Cleveland Browns".

Most Browns fans I know ehre were well aware coming into this year that we'd suck. We said we'd suck. We therefore turned our attentions to you talking about the Super Bowl in caps with far too many exclamation points and laughing icons.

We knew we'd suck, you were talking about the Super Bowl. Delusions of grandeur?

If you feel it's your 'duty' then you need to use some wit and come up with more creative, intelligent, original and funny posts. You sound like an 8 year old kid in a playground that insists on getting in the last insult.

Oh wait, you are.

By all means, stick around because your mere existence on this board knocks down Bengal fans credibility a few notches.

Jones, Henry, union leaders all meet with NFL chief

By DAVE GOLDBERG, AP Football Writer
April 3, 2007

NEW YORK (AP) -- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and league officials met with Adam "Pacman" Jones Tuesday as the Tennessee Titans' cornerback attempted to avoid a long suspension following a series of arrests.

Goodell and his staff also met with Cincinnati wide receiver Chris Henry and members of the NFL Players Association executive board as he prepared a tougher policy on NFL players who violate the law.

Goodell has said he will announce his decision on suspensions or other disciplinary action before the draft on April 28 and perhaps in the next 10 days.

The NFL had no comment and lawyers for the players had no immediate response. The meeting with the players was held away from the NFL offices where six television cameras stationed themselves with no one to interview.

The Titans couldn't add much either Tuesday night.

"We have not heard anything from the NFL office," Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt said.

Goodell also met with Gene Upshaw, executive director of the NFLPA and other union officials as he tried to get a consensus for his policy. Upshaw also has been critical of player misbehavior.

Henry is one of nine Bengals who were arrested last season, leading to calls for a crackdown on player behavior. But Jones has become the focus for Goodell, who took over as commissioner in September and has been preoccupied by the issue almost from the start of his tenure.

"It went pretty good, to have the chance to meet the commissioner face to face," Henry told The Cincinnati Enquirer. "I just wanted to explain my situation to the commissioner and move on. I told him I was learning from my mistakes and how to handle myself in a better manner."

Since being drafted in April 2005, Jones has been arrested five times and questioned by police in 10 episodes. Last week, Las Vegas police recommended he be charged with a felony and two misdemeanors for his role in a Feb. 19 strip club fight that led to a triple shooting.

His lawyer, Manny Arora, did not return calls or e-mails from The Associated Press. However, he told the Nashville Tennessean on Monday: "I fully expect him to be part of that team when the season kicks off in September.

However, Jones' former agent, Gary Wichard, told the AP that he thinks Goodell could be hard on Jones. "In the commissioner's mind, he's trying to make a statement because the league needs this," Wichard said.

That seems to be the general consensus around the NFL -- that the problems have gone too far. Henry, Jones' teammate at West Virginia, was suspended by Goodell for two games last season and could face more discipline after serving two days in a Kentucky jail for letting minors drink in a hotel room he had rented.

I just loved what he had to say on NFL Access this morning.

He was asked what he would say to the fans who saw all of his arrests and were left shaking their head.

In his response he stated that they weren't true fans. What a self-conceited idiot Henry is.

Not that I'm sayng Bengal fans are true fans anyway...

What Clownland fans would like to hear:

"I, Chris Henry should be suspended for the 2 regular season games against Cleveland..Not against anyone else in the division, only Cleveland". This would increase their already dismal chances of beating the Bengals and despite the fact that they virtually have no chance to start with, I should still be removed. I know I have violated many of the beliefs they cling to like, I'm not better than their saviour, overpaid, loudmouthed, could'nt catch a cold receiver Braylon Edwards and taking part in 2 slaughters of the Clowns last year which were clearly flukes in their opinions..I fully agree with many Clown fans who say I should be kicked off the team..Of course I realize that I would probably be immediately claimed by them which would force me to immediately retire from the NFL and go play for more competitive teams in the CFL. After all, I am a professional football player, and the Clowns don't currently resemble any professional team that I can think of ....With my sincerest apologies to the long suffering and bamboozled fans of Cleveland"..Chris Henry

Bengals | Henry feels meeting went well
Tue, 3 Apr 2007 15:39:45 -0700

Dave Goldberg, of the Associated Press, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry feels that his meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell went well. "I just wanted to explain my situation to the commissioner and move on. I told him I was learning from my mistakes and how to handle myself in a better manner," Henry told the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Just now learning how to handle himself, He should have done that after the first arrest. What a dumbarse!

I'm gonna chime in here. Chris Henry's run in's with the law is well documented. He's not the 1st,and he won't be the last professional athelete to do so.
I believe the suspension and the $200,000 dollars Henry will forfeit will make him mature. Now with that said......
I love how people bring up character when it becomes a convience to their argument. Such as this thread.
In fact, character is a variable that rarely plays into the expectations of a person.....I'l give you a example.....
Lets say you want to have your oil changed at one of the 15 minute special places.......
you pull in,you expect Joe the Oil Guy,to put in 5 new quarts,a new filter and make sure he did'n't forget to screw in the drain plug....
thats all you need to know about Joe.....you could care less about what he does outside his job.....heck he could be a womanizer, constant drunk, inconsiderate to nice old ladies..just a real jerk......now I will translate to a NFL player...
you get up on Sunday morning..put on your Kosar, Edwards or Winslow jersey. You get to the game or local bar. You are cranked up to 10......one thing in mind...."WIN BROWNIES,WIN"......thats all you ask for.
For 4 quarters, you expect Charlie Frye, Leigh Bodden,Braylon Edwards and others to show up and play the best football they can........
You want the Browns to provide a service for you.....to make you feel gratified as a fan as you walk away from the game....
Just like Joe the Oil Changer, you demand something from the Browns players......you pay good money to see that materialized.
and during that game, guess all you care about is, "is (insert player) playing the best football he can"........
you could care less what kind of character that player has.......
see when we watch football......you aren't shelling out $75.00 a ticket for a players character outside of football..........
you are putting out that money to see him produce on the football field. Nothing more nothing less.
Its like this, the football inside that player comes before his character on game day.
When I watch Chris Henry play,I could care less about his "character"
No one supports a pro sports team, cause they have 53 Boy Scouts....

now on another note, there isn't a WR on the Browns today who is better than Chris Henry. You guys can say what you will about his off the field issues, but his talent is something the Browns offense could use and lacks.
Chris Henry could be a #1 for several NFL teams.....including the Browns.....
if I was a Browns fan,I wish Henry could have missed both Browns games, cause he usually has his way with the Browns secondary. He's a matchup problem for the Browns.....
maybe Braylon will reach #15 production on the football field one day.....

Those would have to be some really terrible teams.

As terrible as we are...he wouldn't be our #1.

You've really got an overinflated opinion of Chris Henry...I watch the Bengals a lot...and he's lucky he fell in with the Bengals...if he played in San Fran...he would've been cut without much ESPN fanfare.

He's good...but not that good.

Phil,he averages a TD every 4.6 catches for his career. When he started for a injuried Houshmandazeh last year,he stepped up.
For a 3 RD WR he scored 9 TDS and missed 5 games.......
Last year when he didn't play, the Bengals offense wasn't the same....
He's better than Antonio Bryant,Arnez Battle or any other 49ers WR for that matter....

You're wrong, there. My kid looks up to athletes. He cheers them on and gets excited to watch them work. He wants to be an athlete. I shouldn't have to explain why one of those athletes bought a motel room and booze for underage girls, why he illegally carries a gun, why he does drugs, etc. They SHOULD be held to a higher standard.

Anyhow, if the oil change guy did those things, I'd take my business elsewhere.

But the thing is,when you take your car in to get that oil change, you aren't really concerned about Joe the Oil Guy's character. Its irrelevant to you.All you desire at that point is,change my oil and do your job...thats it...
and chances are, you'd never know if he did those things or not.....
I coach youth football and basketball and my son plays for me.
And I always tell him your role models is the local police, firemen.
I demand character and resilance from my players. You have to stress those quailities with the young ones......too many kids buy into the ESPN highlight reels and taunts.
BTW he's in a leadership program at his martial arts school......
but anyhow, there are very few pro atheletes I would want him to look up to.
Pro sports is a bottom line business....its wins, losses, revenue and somewhere character after that....
All I'm saying is when it comes to gameday...all that matters is a player-teams performance...we don't watch the NFL to try to get a perspective on their character. We could care less what a player does outside of the world of football just as long as you show up and give %100 on Sunday.

Wow, you have taken the Curly school of rationalization, Impact, and I have to say I'm disappointed. Joe Blow down the street provides a service. You don't feel a part of Jiffy Lube or whatever. You don't feel they are representing your community. You don't have hundreds of thousands watching him perform and feel a part of his job. Regardless of what you and others say, athletes are and always will be role models.

As for the bottom line being performance, you still miss the big picture. These off the field issues have an advers affect on the team. I said it last year and was proven right by Palmer and others coming out and saying that it was. So, even if you were right in your erroneous rationalization, you are still wrong because the off the field issues affect the on the field performance....and that's from your own players' mouths.

You can't really attempt to force your hypothetical world view on everyone. Let me pose a furtherance to you saying what we do/ would do.

If I FOUND OUT my oil changer was doing the same stuff as Chris Henry, you bet your rear I would take my services elsewhere.

Every kid idolizes sports athletes. They make money, millions of people watch them. You always want to be them when you're playing with your friends.

When I was young I would always want to be Bernie Kosar and my friends wanted to be Webster Slaughter or someone else along those lines. It's what kids do. I sure as hell wouldn't want my kids to run outside and say "Hey, I want to be Chris Henry....."

There's no scooting around the impact that Professional sports players have on society's children, and no scooting around the fact that people are deterred from entering into any type of relationship (social, fiduciary, or professional) upon evidence that that person is a repeat criminal offender.

Coach your right....you want the players to represent your franchise in a immaculate way on and off the field.Off the field issues are distractions to the team.I agree. Unfortunatley, what Chris Henry has done takes away from the positives that the Bengals players have done..visiting hospitals, camps etc etc.
All Iam saying is,come Sunday 1 PM, performance rises above character.

Unfortuanetly character inhibits performance on Sunday. That's what I've been sayin all along and it was confirmed by Palmer and other Benals. The character issues hindered the Bengals team performance this year.

Exactly. And I happen to think good character makeup enabled the Patriots to make it over the top and win all the superbowls that they did.
