I sit here and laugh at the fools on this site that laughed at me 2 years ago when we drafted Frye, when I said he would not succeed at this level. Now I turn out to be right and the rest of you start changing your tune but refuse to admit you were a Frye boy when I was considered a jerk for not being on the Frye bandwagon.
Fool and jerk..your two new nicknames? It was idiotic if anyone thought Frye was the answer..any knowledgeable person knew WHY PHIL drafted him.. They wanted a QB but were not going to use the first/second round pick on one. Savage had scouted him and rolled the dice, he got excellent value for the pick. No one anticipated the mess that would erupt between Diler/Mo.. So if there's any fool..Corpus..look in that lille pocket mirror in your bag..

Soemthing to remember with the drafting of Frye. Savage wanted Jason Campbell but he went way to early to the skins. Savage then took the next highest qb on his board in the 3rd round. The logic with that pick is simple. You may have a starter one day but a 3rd for a quality backup in this league isnt a bad thing.
I am one of Frye's harshest critics and was before the draft. One of the worst combine performances I ever witnessed. He was horrible at the senior bowl except for the game when he threw up ducks and had the receiver fight it away.
Frye does have one thing that no one can deny and that is work ethic. The guy puts in the time and if continues to do that maybe one day he will improve. He is there working out and learning.
I know a lot around here hate Anderson. Some because he is competition to Frye some just dont believe in him. The progress the kid has made from one camp to the next was amazing. Soon as his shoulder healed enough he was in Berea throwing the ball working on his game.
Now neither may ever be more than they are but they are two of the hardest working players the Browns have had since the mid 80s.

That makes sense.. I was wondering about Nord's comment also and I just didn't know the answer to it...
Thanks Attack

Did I miss something,, where did you get that info... Not questioning it cause it might be the case, but it's the first I heard of it.

Once again, did I miss something,, wasn't Frye the MVP of the Senior Bowl he played in.. If he was so horrible, why would they name in the MVP? I'm a little confused by that comment Mour?

I like Anderson,, not sure he'll ever be more than a backup but still I like him,, He did well until teams got some tape on him and then they gameplaned and killed him.. That's not a good sign, but again, he's young and has a lot to learn, so it's possible he gets a lot better...
Both of the QB's have upside if for no other reason than to be solid number 2's... But in all honesty, I think alot of people are throwing Frye and to and extent, Anderson under the bus for things that could not control last season,,
Dropped passes, porous Oline, poor playcalling etc etc.. these are things neither QB can really control,,
If the Browns correct those issues and neither of them step up, I'll be one of the first to drive the bus over Frye and Anderson..
I just think it's wrong for so many to rush to judgement.. Just think it's too soon.

Opie also said there was a corner he had rated higher than Frye but it was one of those things ..he wanted a QB.. How is Campbell doing ?

I have been waiting on this day!
I find it pathetic when people sit around and basically root against our players so that when they fail they can gloat that they were right. It's kind of disgusting. You couldn't wait for the day that Charlie failed? Great fanship there.
I haven't given up on Frye yet. He may not be the answer but I'll give him a few more starts before I make my final decision. And I won't be elated when/if he does fail because all that means is were back to square one at the QB position. That makes me happy when it happens to the Ravens, or the the Stoolers but CERTAINLY not the Browns.

Good point. I also remember some time after that draft someone started talking about drafting Frye as our franchise QB and Savage stopped them telling them to stop the talk about Frye being drafted as a franchise QB.

Good point.
No, it's not a good point if the premise for it can't be proven,,, and nobody can prove Campbell was really our target or just misinformation leading up to the draft!
Prove that, and even I'll believe!

Quit reaching ...it was known after the draft..just like it was known there were other players Phil has tried to get but the cost was too high.. No one HAS to prove that from 2 years ago..

I don't care if you believe it or not.
Just because you don't remember isn't my problem nor cause for me to go searching the net.

Boy, you and Peen are touchy today aren't you,, Geez..
No, you don't have to prove it and no, you don't have to concern yourself as to whether I believe it or not, but please, do yourselves a favor, don't expect anyone, me included to accept it as a valid arguement without some fact based info..
It's been two years as has been pointed out,, lots of stuff has come down since then,, so it's rather interesting that you both feel it's important that everyone have the same memory as you have..... And to boot, be rude to someone when they ask for proof..
Ok, you don't want to do that, it's fine,, then to me, your point isn't valid...

Wednesday, April 20, 2005 Draft buzz The NFL Draft is three days away and what will happen is still anybody's guess. Here's a look at some of the latest buzz: The Redskins traded for the 25th pick late Tuesday. Washington is reportedly interested in taking a QB with the pick, perhaps Auburn's Jason Campbell. The Browns are also interested in Campbell. (ESPN.com) http://www.cleveland.com/weblogs/dawgblog/index.ssf?/mtlogs/thedawgblog/archives/2005_04.htmlDon't worry, I am not going to make you bend over and sing Manilow.

What did this prove?
The Browns were also interested in Frye and Rogers. All this proves is that in a piece about Campbell they mentioned the Browns. Just like if you get a piece about Frye or Rogers, etc it will mention the Browns too.

I suppose unless we signed the guy there isn't any real proof.
The only point of the link and post is to show the people who said they didn't remember us having any interest that indeed there were reports we did.

Peen,, please don't take this as if I'm questioning your honesty,, I'm not,,, not at all... you remembered discussions from two years ago saying we were interested in Campbell and now that you pointed out that headline, I suppose that's the case..
But was it real, or was it more pre-draft mumblings from the Media?
I don't know which, but I wouldn't ever use pre-draft reports like that as any kinda proof of anything.. It's just to unreliable for my tastes...
But that's just me!
