Not a typo. Posting it because of how ludicrous the circumstances are surrounding the details... Domestic battery caused by...soy sauce and stolen underwear?!?! Ex-NFL player Kwame Harris accused of beating ex-boyfriend NFL, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers | Comments Decrease font Enlarge font An ex-NFL player is facing felony domestic violence charges for allegedly beating an ex-boyfriend in the parking lot of a restaurant after an argument about soy sauce, reports the Oakland Tribune. Former San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Kwame Harris was charged with felony domestic violence and assault causing great bodily injury and faces nine years in prison. Harris, 30, pleaded not guilty and is out of jail after posting a $75,000 bail. Harris’ attorney says it is a case of self-defense. The trouble started August 21 when Harris and ex-boyfriend Dimitri Geier were sharing dinner at Su Hong restaurant in Menlo Park. Harris was to drive Geier to San Francisco International Airport for a flight following the meal. But the men began to argue after Geier poured soy sauce on some rice, which upset Harris, according to a civil lawsuit Geier filed in San Mateo County. The arguing continued and escalated, until finally Harris revoked his offer to drop Geier off at the airport. Geier agreed to take a cab instead, but as they went to retrieve has bags from Harris’ car the dispute turned violent. Harris allegedly tried to pull down Geier’s pants and accused the ex of stealing his underwear, according to the suit. Harris was drafted by the 49ers with the 26th overall pick in the 2003 NFL draft and was released by the Raiders in 2009.

I actually wanted us to draft him way back when ... no comment now.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I always knew Kwame had the ability to make the gap in front of him much wider.

lol @ wikipedia's accounting of the incident: Quote:
According to the suit, Harris became upset and the two men argued after Geier poured soy sauce on a plate of rice at a restaurant in Menlo Park, California. The situation escalated as the two exchanged blows.

Who doesn't put soy sauce on rice? I think it's just assumed, you can't blame him for putting soy sauce on the guy's rice.

If I had a nickel every time soy sauce started a fight between my wife I.....I could....well, I wouldn't have a single nickel. And what's with trying to take the dudes underwear? Sure, if it was yours you'd be upset, but I wouldn't demand it back there....or even try ripping it off.
Note to Kwame's future boyfriend, let the man pour a little soy on the rice to avoid a spat.

apparently, Chris Culliver didn't know either and he wouldn't be happy about it if he was still on the team.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1273272/chris-culliver
Quote:
The NFL has never had an openly gay active player, but if there was one, 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver said he wouldn't want that player on his team.
"I don't do the gay guys man," Culliver said to shock jock Artie Lange on Tuesday, according to Yahoo Sports. "I don't do that."
Later in the interview, Lange asked Culliver if there are any gay players on the 49ers roster, "No, we don't got no gay people on the team, they got to get up out of here if they do," Culliver said. "Can't be with that sweet stuff. Nah ... can't be ... in the locker room man. Nah."
Culliver later suggested that it would be OK for homosexual players to come out 10 years after they retire.
Culliver's comments come on the heels of the recent allegations against former San Francisco offensive tackle Kwame Harris. Harris is alleged to have assaulted a former boyfriend in August. Harris was never outed as gay during his six-year career with the 49ers (2003-07) and Raiders (2008).
The 49ers probably won't be too thrilled with Culliver's comments. Six months ago, San Francisco became the NFL's first team to join "It Gets Better," an anti-bullying campaign targeted at teenagers who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.
Safety Donte Whitner was one of four players who made a video for the campaign, according to the San Jose Mercury News. "The 49ers are proud to join ItGetsBetter.org to let all LGBT teens know that it gets better," Whitner said according to the Mercury News. "On behalf of the entire 49ers organization, we are on your side, and we promise, it gets better."
Culliver, the 49ers' No. 3 cornerback, had 48 tackles this season and tied for second on the team with two interceptions.
The 49ers released this statement on Wednesday regarding Culliver's remarks, "The San Francisco 49ers reject the comments that were made [Tuesday], and have addressed the matter with Chris. There is no place for discrimination within our organization at any level. We have and always will proudly support the LGBT community."

What a terribly ignorant person. I can't believe people my age still think that. Thankfully people like Culliver are the ever-shrinking minority.

It sure seems we've been having a controversial Super Bowl week:
- Moss claims he's the best WR of all time. Jerry Rice insists he is. - Ex-NFL'er Kwame Harris accused of beating ex-boyfriend - The President announces he wouldn't let his son, if he had one, play football - Culliver insults the entire gay and lesbian community - Ray Lewis is accused of doping.
Somehow I don't think the league office wanted their showcase to go like this.
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”

How did you leave Tim Brown accusing Callahan of throwing a Superbowl off that list?

Oh ya....that was big too.
The best part of that whole situation was how Brown backtracked.
"I have never said that he sabotaged the game. All I was saying after the game was, you know, the question was asked about this situation, but no one ever said -- and I said on the radio show last Saturday night -- that's something that could never be proven. We can't go inside the mind of Bill Callahan and say, 'Oh, yeah, we knew exactly what he was thinking, what he was trying to do.' All I'm saying is, the question was asked. But of course the media hears 'sabotage' and 'Bill Callahan' and 'throwing the football game,' now they're saying 'throwing the football game' and that terminology was never used. But that wasn't the intent."
This was his original statement:
"We all called it sabotage ... because Callahan and Gruden were good friends," Brown said. "And Callahan had a big problem with the Raiders, you know, hated the Raiders. You know, only came because Gruden made him come."
Uhhh...you did call is sabotage Tim.

and with everything else, Marshall Faulk picked a poor time to try to resurrect Spygate Quote:
“I understand Bill (Belichick) is a great coach,” Faulk told Curran. “But No. 13 (Kurt Warner) will tell you. Mike Martz will tell you. We had some plays in the red zone that we hadn’t ran. I think we got to fourth down — we ran three plays that we hadn’t ran, that Mike drew up for that game – Bill’s a helluva coach . . . we hadn’t ran them the whole year (and the Patriots were ready for them)…
“I know, in that game, in the red zone, the plays we ran, most of them we hadn’t ran most of those plays that year. And a couple of plays on third down that we walked through also . . . Any time that I was offset, I was always stationary. And we had creating motioning in the backfield at the same depth on the other side of the field. And they created a check for it. It’s just little things like that. It’s either the best coaching in the world when you come up with situations that you had never seen before. Or you’d seen it and knew what to do.” http://tracking.si.com/2013/01/30/marshall-faulk-patriots-cheated-rams-super-bowl/?sct=obnetwork
