He was an All-Pro caliber OLB. He no longer is but he's still quite good.

Clearly in decline, and he's got many screws loose...

But man it'll be good with him gone.

ESPN doesn't think he's too much in decline. He instantly made the top spot on their FA tracker. Seems a bit high to me but it is the ray ray network.

Harrison's rep said Harrison (from Akron) "would love" to play for the Browns.

Man, I love fueling speculation.

I wish we had had a James Harrison on our team when James Harrison knocked out three of our players. I'm pretty sure he would have done something about it. God knows, our players didn't do jack.

James Harrison, IMO, is the reason why MoMass is extra scared, especially when he's working the middle...

Honestly, I don't want either of them on the Brown's. Harrison is a thug and cheap shot guru, and MoMass is a fragile piece of glass that isn't accountable or credible for much of anything. I doubt any team would show interest in him either. Harrison will draw interest though.

Where's Hack?

I'd like to get his honest thoughts right now.

For the most part..I was not to concerned early on.

Wallace we knew was gone.

Mendenhall was gone

Lewis I was willing to let walk just because we only had one year of real production...and it would cost to much to find out if it was a fluke or if the light came on.....That is the Steelers fault...for keeping Will Gay ahead of him for so long.....who is now back....BLAH!

Colon....if he only cost the Steelers what the Jets are paying him..he would still be a Steeler.....Foster resigns.....and has played more than Colon in recent years.

I like the Burress and Spaeth signings...as I actually predicted both.

the two that really bother me.

I really thought Harrison and the Steelers would get a deal done to get his cap number in line.....If he can stay healthy...he would have still been the best OLB on the roster.....They look to replace him with Worilds...who has shown little since being drafted...he rushes the passer...but thats about it.

The Manny Sanders to Pats possibility is going to sting....he was looking at the #2 or #3 spot....if that happens...its going sting as bad as anything that happened this offseason...he was really starting to come into his own last season with more playing time....He was behind Ward, Wallace, and Brown for most of his first contract.

On the overall state of the Steelers....this could be a tough year....but if they can keep Sanders...get a solid draft....and create a few more turnovers...they should be in the playoff hunt.....but we will see.

Pretty rational summation IMO. I'll believe in your teams demise when I actually see it.

Don't be so over serious. He was on the other forum too and we respect him just fine.

Still I don't think its realistic to think the Steelers will make the playoffs this season. Of course our entire division pretty much went into a decline except for the Bengals and well they are the bungles for a reason 8) Still if the Bengals don't dominate the division this season I would be a bit surprised.

A LOT on how the ravens and the steelers will do this season depends on how quickly our players get into the new system. Next season IF our QB situation is stable or at least doing ok then I think we will be pushing for it hard ourselves.

I don't know anything about the other board beyond '06. You guys may be best of friends and throw jabs at each other daily.

What I do know is there are a lot of you whom I don't know that came here recently. So you're the new guys.

Hack I know. And over here he is vastly outnumbered.

Just informing a "new guy" that being rude to one of our long time members is uncool.

In the same manner that you just defended the Pastor when I said something.

I'm sorry if you think I was rude, I was just being a Browns fan wondering why a fan of our most hated rival is so reveared? Nothing against him as a man, but he is a Steeler fan

You weren't rude at all. You just laughed because you disagree with Hack. It's ok to talk down to all the "new" posters though. I have heard more than once now that the rules are the same here as in the old forums and you didn't break any.

Nothing wrong with using the emoticons provided to express an opinion. He didn't personally attack him or call him names even. Just laughed at the thought of the Steelers making the playoffs next season.

No offense Hack I've seen you around a long time but I feel the same way. Both the Steelers and the Ravens are now in a rebuilding process and have lost several key players that were important to the identity of how the team plays. I am certainly not saying it's impossible I just don't think it's likely. This next season is the season for the Brown's to show some nice improvement and its up for the grabs to the Bengals to lose. I feel the Bengals have the best shot to win the division this season unless Weeden surprises me. I would like it VERY much if Weeden surprise me 8)

Thank you all for your kind words.....and to those that want to "SMACK" me go back and look....I was only politely answering a question which I was directly asked.....and it was not a kool aid type response...I said it could be tough..but with a few players and turnovers they could push for the playoffs.

And, IMO, if the Steelers can keep Big Ben on the field they have a chance. The guy is superhuman.

I did originally sign up over at the official board when the previous incarnation of this one died....but I don't think I have been back there since this one went up.....this is home.

and FYI..... I have sat Dawg Pound adjacent many times...wearing my colors...and have only ever had a few problems with alcohol imbibed fans......My uncle gets his companies season tickets....and when you walk into the stadium....if you go down to the left...its the pound...or if you go up a few steps to the right....our seats.

and one final little stat...Before the Browns moved....My mentor, comedian Mike Veneman (RIP) was the official comedian of the Cleveland Browns.....I helped write skits for the Bill Belichick show and was actually in the Browns offices downtown on multiple occasions....

Hack has always brought a respected and insightful view to this board. It matters little who he is a fan of,

I've noticed you seem to have a problem getting past your own bias and beliefs to even listen to an other point of view or opinion.

I pity you and that way of thinking.

Just want to add that Hack isn't a Steelers fan who comes in here and talk smack. He's knowledgeable about the draft, and never sugar coats his own team's issues.

He's been around this board for a long time, and has always been respectful of everyone. He deserves respect in return.

He's a good guy.

Eh Big Ben is getting old and battleworn and he just lost some serious targets. Will be interesting if the steelers draft some o-lineman to keep him from getting so beat up. If they do that then Ole ben might be able to pull off a few things for a while longer yet. If they dont i see him retiring in a few years while he can still walk.

I think you popped on a year or two ago. Not many Steeler posters so its why i remember you. Either way I have nothing against you personally. I have never needed to hang out in the smack shack either so we will get along fine 8) That being said eh I am not gonna talk nice about the steelers or the ravens for that matter regardless of who is talking about them but I can promise that while I might attack the team I wont be doing it as a means of hurting you personally or any of thier fans for that matter. I also promise I wont take it personally the other way around either. If ever you feel I am personally attacking you as a person they just message me and most likely I will explain and apologize. I am not out to get anyone I promise.

I want them strong when we beat them.
I want the Ravens strong when we beat them.
I want the Bengals strong when we beat them.

I want the AFCN to be the fiercest division in the NFL... always....

Dawg... it isn't so much that HACK is "revered," as much as it is this:

He's earned our respect.

He's a knowledgeable football guy, comes to talk Pure Football, and shows respect to each and every one of us while he's here. When he assesses the Browns, it's never with an attitude of "smack," and when he assess the Steelers, it's never with a hint on "homerism."

We like him here... because he's earned his place at the table... and sometimes, it's good to hear a well-reasoned POV from "the other side," if you know what I mean.

Love your fandom, Dawg... but HACK's "one of the Good Guys."

Stick aound awhile, and you'll see why dig him....

Oh, I forgot this: welcome to the boards.
