Our small ball lineup of DT, Sam, Lenzelle, Scott and Craft has really opened our offense and we get 4/5 of our best defenders on the court. It's not something we should do a lot, but it's a nice wrinkle. Kind of wish we saved it for the tourney to catch teams off guard. Indiana had zero clue what to do against it.

I mean it really is the most brilliant thing Matta has done. Get your best defenders on the court and help your offense at the same time. You can throw in different looks with Ross at PF. Buckeyes beat every B1G team, in position to share the crown, with 1 true scorer and no post play.

Matta has done a marvelous coaching job this season. His recruiting has been subpar the last couple of years, but the man has shown that he can coach.

Our old buddy Zac Jackson earlier tonight tweeted, " Urban Meyer is probably texting Bo Pelini, reminding him that Nebraska is a night game and that it might be 63-38, again."
Zac used to work for the Browns and occasionally posted on this board when it was on the main site.

He has some of the worst hands I have ever seen on a bball court.
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

Really surprising outcome (at least to me) and then you have Georgetown going down to Cuse (though I'm not as surprised with this one)

I hate how much love Duke got for Kelly being back. We took those POS down to the wire at their place WITH Kelly.

Nix should have at least 3 fouls if not 4 ... look out this half the refs will lean Izzo's way like last night against Iowa ... JMHO

I hate and love this team.
On our win streak we've held teams under 60 points. This team is HOT right now.

#2 RPI and SOS in the nation with the most wins in the country against top 50 teams. Won the #1 RPI rated conference by 2 games, and the MWC tournament. Only 1 loss to a team NOT playing in NCAA tournament next week. I'd say they would do just fine. But thats cool, keep thinking along that East Coast bias. The question is how would any of the Big 10 teams do in the MW this year?

Every media outlet and basketball expert in America(Except In The MWC) will tell you the BIG 10 is the BEST Conference in America and it isn't close ... Now who is narrow minded ?

The numbers would prove otherwise, and you would have seen that stat brought up in multiple sources, that the MW IS the 1# rated RPI conference in the country. But that would require KNOWING something about the MW which you don't seem to have in the least.
I'm not taking a swipe at all at the Big 10. Its a tough conference for sure, but they are not the only conference of relevance, and to simply laugh off something you don't have a concept of, is NOT an argument.

If you send 1 team to the Final four then I will owe you an apology ... the old saying is "Stats are for losers" sorry but they usually are

The argument is about THIS year, and I won't offer an apology for something perceived in previous years....but if you insist...
UNLV won a national Championship, and former member Utah did reach the title game. Without looking I can't tell you the years.
Again, what that has to do with this year, I have no clue

And UNM only lost by 3 to Louisville and were the only ones to give them a game till they lost to Kentucky in the finals.
Again though, forget past history. I'm talking this year for comparison

I understand where that stat comes from because there are games the Lobos can't shoot the ball worth a damn. However, they won 9 games shooting below 40%. All the stats we can throw back and fourth mean nodda when it comes to playing the game itself. Thats the true comparrison.
The NCAA has always had a sick sense of humor, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Lobos end up in the same bracket as Indiana just to have that Steve Alford vs Indiana intrigue. I'd love to see that game. The Lobos CAN play with anyone. They beat Cincy on the road and UCONN on a neutral floor. Granted those wins looked a lot better in December than they do now....but to only have 3 loses in the toughest RPI confrence speaks volumes. Anyone who sleeps on the 5 MWC teams in the tourney will get bounced. Bank on it

Your talking about style points and a name. I could care less about either. This is more the "White Men Can't Jump'" argument- would you rather lose pretty, or win ugly in college basketball? I'll take my OT win over Indiana St. on the road over Ohio St. 40 pt win at home over Savannah St. And thats NOT a slag against Ohio St,
My whole point has been look past your own front yard for something viable. 29-5, #2 RPI and SOS. Do some research, watch a UNM game more than the Sportscenter highlights- oh wait. Strangely ESPN doesn't show the MWC since they don't have a tv deal with them. That means we don't matter huh? Its excrement.

I know that their conference is the highest RPI conference. I don't understand how that is possible.
