Sweet 16 has been a tough mental hurdle for us. If we beat Arizona I think we make it to the title game. I'm just worried because the Wildcats are an incredibly talented team that is finally clicking. It's gonna take a full team effort. We're gonna have to win ugly.

I disagree, this team is tournament hardened after last years final four run, we may have to win ugly but this team is mentaly ready for those type of games, just look at our last game, many teams would have folded up after blowing a late13 point lead, not the Buckeyes ... JMHO

I dunno man.
I think they are capable of winning it all, but on the other hand, if you've watched this team all year, you know it could get bad at any moment.
I think they're mentally tough, but I think offensively, there may come a moment where they just don't have enough.
I love Craft, but part of the reason that game was almost lost was because he was the only guy touching the ball for a span of about 4-5 minutes. He clearly didn't have it, yet he was the guy who blew FT opportunities in back to back possessions and turned the ball over. There are 4 other guys on the floor, and nobody wants to step it up and make a play when the PG clearly is struggling?
If they have another lapse like they did against Iowa State, they're done.

I have watched every game the Buckeyes have played this year, and I understand your concern, but I also know how Craft will be even more focused than usual after his late game stumble, I doubt you will see that again ... JMHO

I hate that one of our worst offensive players (Craft) is the guy who takes all the last minute shots.

yeah, that's where I disagree. He has a shaky jump shot, he doesn't have great vision when driving, and he's not the best finisher at the rim. He's fearless and the shot against Iowa State was fantastic, but too many other games like the Michigan game are still with me too (where he decided he could take on Burke and GRIII and was easily blocked).

he took on 2 guys going to the rim and was bumped. at the end of games, that is going to be a no-call at least 50% of the time. it was Craft's fault for not finding someone to pass to and his teammates for noone cutting behind him (he is not good at finishing at the rim). and, this was just after he lost the ball out of bounds 2 earlier possesions in that game doing the same thing (driving to the rim while being doubled).

Thomas should be the guy handling the ball in crunch time. A lot of people kind of deflect that into "they're not getting him the ball", and that's partly true.
I thought Tom Withers (AP reporter for Cleveland) said it best after the Michigan game. Thomas does not work hard enough to create opportunities for himself. If you remember, he didn't even touch the ball in OT.
That guy is going to need to man up if this team has any shot at the title.

I agree, and he didn't hardly get it at the end of the Iowa State game, but I can't agree Craft can't finish at the rim, did you hear Iowa States coach, he said he got that 3 because Craft was killing them inside and they weren't going to allow him to get to the rim ...

Craft is great at driving into the lane. He has a very good first step. His issue is finishing against athletic shot-blockers. Hoiberg was talking about the fact that his PF got matched up with Craft and that Craft is a fantastic FT shooter (so he didn't want him getting into the paint there, which he would do with ease against that guy).
Look, Craft is good at alot of things. He's a joy to watch on defense, he's great at driving to the rim, but his finish needs some work. When against athletic weakside blockers, he is going to have issues and he doesn't know when to pass the ball (it's all drive and go). There's a reason he's shooting 43% this year (despite focusing more on his drive).

If Amir Williams wasn't a puss we'd have a solution at the end of games. His length and athleticism should just allow him to bully any center and dunk the crap out of the ball. Deshaun should make his life easy in theory.

This. Amir has the athleticism and length to dominate in the paint but is such a damn pansy. It is irritating to say the least. With Craft, Thompson, and Thomas so good at driving and posting up in the lane, Amir should have a freaking field day!
Arizona scares the crap out of me by the way. We have not seen athletes like they have yet and that could cause problems. That is a much better team than most realize.

I agree with everything you said, except the athletes part. Kansas and Indiana had some phenomenal athletes. I doubt Arizona has a Victor Oladipo on there team

He drives me nuts. If he had half of the heart of Ravenel he would be pretty good.

Maybe he meant just in the tournament?
Can't deny OSU's regular season schedule, they played great teams all year.

yeah, he must have. Arizona is sneaky-good and athletic, but they are no more athletic than Kansas, Michigan, Indiana, or Illinois (no, Illini weren't great this year, but they were athletic).
Heck, Minnesota was pretty dang athletic this season. They are going to miss Tubby getting them those recruits.

First play of the game:
Craft gives Amir the ball, he takes the ball AND SLAMS IT DOWN THERE THROAT FOR THE AND 1
Then I woke up.

There we go! Finally AZ stopped shooting out of their minds and we got some nice shots + good D. Oh, and Amir Williams is still pretty bad. Ugh. Ok, I'll take that back why isn't he that aggressive all of the time?
