Kevin Johnson nor Northcutt ever "started" a game at QB though.
Ken Dorsey should be in the mix though. Not sure his INTs make up for the complete abomination that was Wynn, but it'd be worth discussing.

I'm not saying he wins the job, but Charlie Frye deserves a nomination.

I don't think he gets any of the QB1-3 slots. His career Browns QBrating is 71.2. It's not anywhere near good, but I think it would make him safe from this list (unless we heavily weight things towards # of actual games started).

The Bruce Gradkowski we had was pretty awful. I mean the one that tossed those pumpkins in black and silver to the beat the Steelers was hilarious, but he was trash in brown and orange. Also, if we need just a yard or two on second down, Brady Quinn's my guy.
How about the pre-Joe Thomas at left tackle era? Who's feelin' some LJ Shelton? Or do we go with Eclair/Cousins as the bookends?

I thought he did, but no, he's not listed.
Here's your list, since '99
Tim Couch - 59 Derek Anderson - 34 Colt McCoy - 21 Charlie Frye - 19 (I can't believe Charlie Frye started 19 games) Brandon Weeden - 15 Kelly Holcomb - 12 Brady Quinn - 12 Trent Dilfer - 11 Jeff Garcia - 10 Doug Pederson - 8 Seneca Wallace - 7 Jake Delhomme - 4 Luke McCown - 4 Ken Dorsey - 3 Ty Detmer - 2 Spergon Wynn - 1 Bruce Gradkowski - 1 Thaddeus Lewis - 1
Now excuse me while I go throw up.

You forgot about Verba. He was the 3rd best LT in the league when he played.

Ok, I think Pederson has the starting job locked down based on number of cruddy games started. Wynn has the QB2 slot locked up. And Thaddeus Lewis earns the last spot just because there are still people on this board who think he might turn into something useful.
Sorry Ken Dorsey.

LMAO. It indeed was incredibly pathetic and such a stupid move to give him the starting role.

He wasn't injured (to my knowledge) when his productivity declined big time while in Carolina. IMO, Delhomme should have been paid extra low, and brought in as a mentor role. I'd rather have had Seneca Wallace start before Joke Delhomme...

since this is the Browns since '99, it was enough of a qualification to remove him from consideration IMO

Seneca "The Tallest" Wallace, should have been the starter instead of Jake "Gimmie A Break" when Jake came back from his injury that he suffered against the Bucs.
That drove me nuts. Jake Delhomme showed himself against the Bucs, and we never should have looked back after he got injured the first time. Man did putting Jake "The FlankSteak" back in the lineup . me off.
IMO, that mistake was the writing on the wall for Mangini. I dunno if Delhomme was pushed to start over Seneca (mid-season) over him or not, but it was enough reason for me to agree with his firing

On a somewhat related ... and lighthearted note ... I work in the energy industry and apparently so does Spergon Wynn. I've recently changed roles in my company, and my replacement met Spergon at a conference last week.
So I could have hung out with Spergon Wynn.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

To get things back on track, I think that Boldin for a 6th is the steal of the year. The guy is the definition of a stud clutch receiver. I would have given a 2nd for him.

I don't think the deal itself is a huge thing. The 49'ers were simply jumping the gun. He was going to get released, and instead of having to bid, they just gave up the 6th.
He was leaving Baltimore one way or the other. You wouldn't have needed to give up a 2nd round pick.

Thanks bro!.
You're right. What a freaking steal! I know he is old and won't play long, but that team is obviously a Super Bowl contender and Boldin is a big game, clutch player.
SF gets Boldin. Seattle gets Harvin. We get the Shaft.

Jeez, picking the three worst is almost as hard as picking the three best.
I know we'll eventually have an answer for the QB position, I just hope it's before 2020.

So, you think it would have been wiser to let him get to free agency and then get in a bidding war?

No, it was a nice move. Credit to the people with the 49'ers.
Steal of the year? I totally disagree with that.
Teams are wary of the cap more than ever. I don't think the bidding war would have been some kind of death sentence. Especially for a WR his age.

I don't know, John Shaft is a tall dude. I bet his 40 isn't bad either. And his entrance music is already picked. I'd take him over most of the crap we've had since '99.

It is for them. A team that was just a few yards away from the Lombardi trophy.
I think he will be huge in the locker room, big on 3rd downs, especially with a quarterback that has minimal starts.
But if you think the Browns got the shaft by not getting Boldin, you're out of your mind if you think they were going to trade him to the Browns for anything short of a king's ransom.
We're going to add players, it's just going to take time. Word from national writers is that behind closed doors they have been very agressive.
