I expect Banner and company to pluck at least one of those names and get them here... You may have missed Derek Anderson's name in there, LMAO!

Im not sure any big name free agents will commer here no matter how much money we have. Take kruger for instance, i see him going to the colts. How can we compete with a team who not only has his former coach as their head coach but ANDREW LUCK as one of their main seeling points???

You'd be surprised, we got Eric Steinbach in FA. We got LeCharles Bentley in FA (woulda been great until he got the staph infection)
They were top-notch pick ups. Of all those guards signed that year to those 7 year 49 million deals or whatever it was, Steinbach was easily the best

Heckert would grab Toler or Cason and Groves.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I have no doubt we're going to get some SOLID additions. Not band-aids, but good players that stick around a while.
I could care less if we miss out on overpaying on big names that get the ESPN folks all in a tizzy....

IMO, if we get an OLB and a CB in freeagency, we did very well. That's if they are out of the names mentioned.

Ellerbe and the Ravens looking to get things done by Tuesday early evening. Looks like we won't get him as ILB. Shouldn't be too shocking seeing after Flacco, that was Baltimore's next priority. But, if they DON'T get something done by tomorrow, looks like we have a chance to plug him in alongside DQ: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000...alking-contractQuote:
Ellerbe drew interest from teams employing both 3-4 and 4-3 fronts during the negotiating period over the weekend. If the Ravens and Ellerbe can't work out a deal by Tuesday at 4 p.m. EDT, he'll be free to sign with one of them.

What do you guys think of bringing in Stephens-Howling as a change of pace 3rd down back? I think hw would be a great compliment to Richardson.

That's what I'm thinking. He can handle our returns and can be a change of pace back. Pretty good backup RB too. Bring "The Hyphen" to the Browns

Some good names Lic. I like Jones if we miss out on Ellerbe. I know Quin and Bennett have been mentioned. I like both of them alot. I would rather have Bennett than Cook if the numbers associated with Cook are true.
I think Bennett TB will end up in Atlanta if they dont sign Freeney. I also wouldnt be shocked to see him in Seattle or Minnesota. Not sure if he can play OLB.
What are some thoughts of bringing back Eric Wright if hes cut by TB and we miss out on our CB targets? I really liked him when he was here the first time around.

Yes, I'm afraid Wright is done.
Here's a solid nickel CB, I forgot about. Although, I am hoping Skrine can hold down that position once we get a bonafide starter across from Haden.
Lions CB - Jacob Lacey, Age 26

Glover Quin could be an interesting name at Safety.

Quin would be an awesome pickup, he had a breakout year last year for the Texans and would be a huge upgrade over Hagg or Young. I would love it if we were able to sign him!

If we could find a way to come up with Cliff Avril, Jared Cook, and a decent CB this will be an outstanding Free Agency. I'm going to be very concerned though if they go in the direction of Paul Kruger. I really think that guy will go back to being very mediocre... as he has shown to be when Terrell Suggs isn't on the field with him...

I love Greg Jennings, but I really think he should stay put. Great situation for him. I know money is money, but I think his play could drop if he leaves that offense.

Seems like a good fit. He was cut despite only making around 1.5mil, so that's a red flag, but probably the new Cards coaching staff wanted to start anew and Wells wasn't a good fit for that with 1year left on his contract.
He still is only 24yo, is a hometown guy, played behind the worst OL in the NFL and is still a pretty good runner when healthy, that's a big ?? with him though....worth a look imho especially if he costs 1.5mil or less
Wells or R.Brown for backup RB is the way to go imho

FYI, the NFL network is having a free agency special airing right now and they have a few on-site reporters at various team HQs- Miami, NY Jets, Baltimore, and yes, Cleveland!
Should be an interesting show to watch as the day continues if we are to sign anyone. Or conversely, if the people allegedly targeted to some and we get zero.
Anyways, I thought some would be interested following this today, as they've already mentioned Cleveland a few times in the 20 or so minutes they've been on the air. The abundance of cap space must be one of the reasons they have someone out there in Berea. Makes sense that where some of big names may fall
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Beanie hasn't been healthy, in like what, 5 years? To much risk and a waste money.
No thank you.

Not sure what's with all the RB talk this morning. Should be the least of our worries. We have Trent... and Montario Hardesty finally showed something on a consistent basis last year. This is not a position we need to address in free agency AT ALL. If we want to pickup a back in the later rounds as a project... I'm on board with that!

We could use a 3rd down back, simple as that. No argument we can pick up a guy later in the draft, but if we can also pick up a known quantity in FA at a reasonable cost, why not? We have to spend between 37 and 47m...

Totally agree. The market also dictates that you can kind of put a stranglehold on FA RB's. Don't have to give them big guaranteed money/years.
I don't think you should keep a player like Brandon Jackson unless you actually plan on using/dressing him. Gotta have 3 guys if you ask me. Especially when 1 and 2 have a history of getting banged up, despite the fact that both are young.

I'd rather see Justin Forsett personally.
I'd take Forsett. He at least has shown very good ability in his opportunities. No thanks on LSH. There are so many good RBs that never really get a shot. LSH, because of the Cards' awful RB situation, has been given opportunity after opportunity and never made himself a player of consequence. I'd rather go for a UDFA RB, because there are good ones available every year if you pick the right one. I already know who LSH is, and that's nobody special in the league.
