Anyone hearing rumors? I've heard rumblings of Saints giving up a draft pick for one of our D-tackles....
can't say I have..didn't the saints loose picks over the scandal? If a trade was to happen hopefully its not for late round picks

Far as FBs..not sure who's out there Greg Jones I know but he was in the 04 draft class..so he's maybe a little too old for our likes...I like Tommy Bohanan from Wake..prolly go undrafted but versatile...anyone remember that back Arkansas had when Knile Davis got hurt...Ronnie Johnson I think is his name...played great when Knile was injured then Knile got his job back...Ronnie was moved to TE and FB..high effort player and when he played RB for Arkansas he ran a 4.20! Someone to keep an eye on late in the draft
You talking about Ronnie Wingo Jr. or Dennis Johnson lol. Maybe you can meld them into one mega player.
I think we did the right thing staying out of the OG bidding battle. Especially now that we have depth at 5T and OLB, we can pick up a pretty good OG in the draft.

There's still guards to get for cheap after day 1...
I like Kevin Boothe of the Giants. Solid at age 30 & can also play center.

lmao I wanted to weld Colts legs onto Weedens body last year...so what's stopping me this year? I think it was Ronnie..I remember them talking of all his talent and speed and him moving over to help the team...hopefully we can land a good guard in the draft as you stated

Dennis Johnson shined while filling in for Kniles. Wingo has all the talent in the world he just never put it together. He played great catching out of the backfield, but was indecisive and did not hit holes quick enough. Dennis Johnson was not as physically gifted, but he played with heart and grit. He was fun to watch, he is a back that looks to hit a cb really hard before he is forced out of bounds.

good post..good info...perhaps if Wingo goes UDFA...he'd be something to keep an eye on..is Dennis Johnson in this draft class too? I know Knile and Wingo are

Johnson is in the draft class. I don't really see either getting drafted, but might not be too bad as an UDFA. I don't know that Johnson has the elite ability, but he can pick up the blitz and lay some wood when he does.

Reggie Bush to the LionsBush, Lions have a deal Posted by Mike Florio on March 13, 2013, 1:21 PM EDT The first-ever Reggie Bush free-agency tour was a short one. Per a league source, the Lions and Bush have agreed to terms on a new contract. Bush reportedly was offered the starting job in Detroit, something that other interested teams may not have been willing (Cardinals) or able (Redskins) to do. For Bush, playing time is far more important than money, given that he has made a whole lot of it in seven NFL seasons, entering the league as the second overall pick in the draft and striking plenty of lucrative endorsement deals. He proved during two years in Miami that he can be a durable, every-down back. But as running backs go he’s getting long in the tooth. It’s unclear how many years he has left. Given that the Lions possess one of the best passing attacks in the league, there should be plenty of running lanes for Bush, along with opportunities for swing passes in zones cleared out by Calvin Johnson. Terms of the deal aren’t yet known. Regardless, the Lions got a little better today Memdenhall to the Cardinals

Jake Long to the Rams This, I couldn't care less...
OK, apparently Long/Rams isn't official
you should care about Jake Long to the Rams. Miami is pushing it's chips to the middle of the table and would desperately need an OT. there is a good chance (with AZ and at least 1 team ahead of us picking an OT) that they are the prime trade-down candidate for us as there are only 3 elite OT prospects in this draft.
because of our position 1 slot ahead of Arizona, here are the situations:
(1) no OTs gone, no pressure for Miami to take our slot. Not likely to happen.
(2) 1 OT gone, Miami knows AZ is taking 1 of them, they trade up to get their preferred guy of the 2 remaining. Most likely to happen.
(3) 2 OTs gone, Miami knows AZ wants the last one, bidding war and we get a bounty. Best scenario for us, but I don't think it'll come to pass.
(4) 3 OTs gone, Miami doesn't want to trade up, but we don't want to trade down because it also means that there will be alot more of the talent we want falling to us. Also, not very likely.

looking like prime Xavier Rhodes/Desmond Trufant territory.
Bills could also be trade partners... all-in for Geno.

agreed on both counts though the Bills will likely shop for the best deal among several trade-up partners if they feel they need to move up.

Welker to the BroncosPosted by Michael David Smith on March 13, 2013, 4:58 PM EDT After six seasons with the New England Patriots, Wes Welker is leaving for the Denver Broncos. Welker and the Broncos agreed to terms on a two-year contract today, Broncos front office boss John Elway announced. In his six seasons in New England, Welker was consistently one of the NFL’s best wide receivers, catching more than 110 passes in five different seasons. He was also a fan favorite and a favorite of his teammates, and there was a great deal of talk in New England that one way or another, he and the team would find a way to get a deal done. But it didn’t happen. Welker and the Patriots disagreed on what kind of contract he was worth, and when Welker was still available 24 hours into free agency, the Broncos swooped in and made him the deal he was working for. Now Welker leaves one AFC title contender for another, and leaves Tom Brady for Peyton Manning.

The Manning/Welker combo is deadly. Manning is one of the best at finding guys on those short, underneath patterns. Welker is one of the best at running those short, underneath patterns. The only better fit for Welker would have been to stay with the Patriots.
Amendola and Edelman should be signed quickly now that Welker has signed.

Depth, fodder, still expect us to look for another body here, either FA or draft. I like Ogbonnaya's effort on special teams, and has decent hands to spell the regulars.
Chris Ogbonnaya - RB - Browns
Browns re-signed RB Chris Ogbonnaya to a two-year contract. Ogbonnaya, 27 in May, earned just eight carries in Cleveland last season despite injuries to Trent Richardson. The former seventh-round pick out of Texas is more of a pass blocker-only as a running back, and a special teamer. The Browns may still try to upgrade on Montario Hardesty as Richardson's backup. linker
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

That is a great move, Ogbonnaya is exactly what I want out of my third running back. I was hoping we would re-sign him.
Who is the author of that little blurb? Hardesty was great as a backup last year, backup running back has to be near the bottom of the list for us.

I agree. Ogbonnaya does everything pretty well. He's a good blocker. He's a very good receiver, and he is a very capable runner.
I'm glad to have him back.

I agree. We don't need a RB in FA &, unless its EASILY the best value pick, we can forget about it in the draft as well...

Maybe some sort of steal in the draft that we cannot believe is still there. Other than that I really don't see us investing in RB...upgrade on back up Hardesty The things Bozo's say...lol
Any knowledge on our new TE besides young n been with Chud for 2 years??? I guess a thread will or is started on him
DE/OLB/Depth OLB/TE...so far so good all we need is a CB I think n we'll be done?? Need to spend around 15mil more to get close to that 89% we would want to be at regarding Cap Room.

Josh Cribbs - WR - Cardinals
Cardinals agreed to terms with KR/WR Josh Cribbs, formerly of the Browns. Cribbs was reportedly picking between the Cardinals and Patriots on Tuesday. He chose the team with a stud punt returner in Patrick Peterson and an already-set trio of starting receivers. Arizona could pull Peterson off of returns and let him focus on cornerback. Cribbs averaged 27.4 yard per return on kickoffs and 12.0 yards on punt returns in 2012.
Good for Cribbs. Good Luck and thanks for the thrills, wished you had kept your mouth shut a few times, but best special team player in the league, just wasn't worth what he was asking... though the amount of this deal hasn't been disclosed yet.

Good for Cribbs.. I hope it was for a lot more money than the Pats were offering, otherwise I don't understand it... Go to a team without a reliable QB, an established WR group, a good punt returner, and a slim chance of getting to the playoffs.. or going to play with Tom Brady, where Welker just left, almost certainly going to get into the playoffs..

hey, if he wants to start on offense, then he probably could on their OL glad he found a safe landing spot and AZ just made their KR's potentially dangerous. who do you kick to between those guys?

Kaluka Maiava - LB - Raiders
Raiders signed OLB Kaluka Maiava, formerly of the Browns, to a three-year, $6 million contract.
Always liked Maiava and his hustle, he wasn't a 'playmaker' but you could see him trying at least, and I appreciate that kind of attitude. Best of luck to him, except against us. linker

Congrats for Josh.
He'll almost certainly be their return guy now, and we'll see if Arians can figure out a way to use him on offense. Who knows?
He is slowing down though ..... so I hope he got a healthy guarantee.
