My wife had one of those very unproductive "team building" things today with her work group. One of the strange questions that was posed to the employees was "If you were to run for president, who among your peers at this company would be your running mate, and why?" The reasons why were supposed to exemplify what it meant to be a good team member at the company.
So that got me thinking about applying that line of thought to DawgTalk since the responses would probably be very interesting.
If I could choose another board member to be my running mate, I think it would have to be PDR. This isn't because we agree on everything. There are several things we disagree on, but I feel like he is honest and tries to formulate his beliefs based upon the facts, which i think is important. I also feel like he would keep me honest and help keep my biases in check. In addition, I think he would do a good job of ticking off the opposing VP candidate during debates, which would be funny to watch.
If not, PDR, I would have to go with DCDAWGFAN, for mostly the same reasons. The problem is I think he and I are too similar, based only on what I've seen in our posts.
Of course this is all just based off what we know of the internet version of each other, but who would you all pick?

Thank you for that vote of confidence. It's an interesting question and a lot of people on here that I think I could get along quite well with... but if I had to pick one to be my running mate... hmmmmmmm... it would be Jules. She shares many of my fiscally conservative points of view, she is more socially liberal than I am but in a way that I think we could work together on most issues.. Then there are the other things: 1. She could deliver Ohio for us. 2. The White House would always be stocked with good beer. 3. The Browns would win a super bowl in our 3rd year in office, we would make that happen. 4. She's been to Alaska so she knows what Russia looks like. 5. I've always wanted to see the VP wear moccasins to meet the Queen of England or the Pope.

Interesting team building exercise. Hmm...
I think it would be between Ballpeen and Purp for me.
Interesting...

You can't get a poster than me, so I'd choose myself.
But, in reality, I'd go with Impact Playa. Just keep reinventing yourself until you stick around!
But, in actual seriousness, I'd probably go with either DC, 'Peen or YTown. They represent pretty divergent views from me, and it's good to have some balance. Also, I could keep them in check but putting roofies in their cocktails.

First off, I'm not stupid enough to run for President.. I wouldn't want that job under these circumstances with the problems we as a nation are facing,, UNLESS, I get to clean house and start over..
In which case I'd spend more time building my cabinet then worrying about a running mate.
I'd take Peen, GM, DC, Vers, PDR, Clem and about 10 more of you guys.. Not because I agree with everything you say, but because I don't. unconventional problems need unconventional solutions.. the more opinions we have to funnel into the mix, the better.. But we all have to agree up front, we will get the job done, NO MATTER our individual personal preferences or needs. We'd have to agree to do whats right for the majority of Americans..
Otherwise, I would not want the job..

I would want to be king for about a decade, and I could get this country back on track.
I would have no desire to be President.

To play this in a political vein ... DC. He's more or less an opposing viewpoint, but not to a point I can't relate, and he's pragmatic. We would detract hard-liners, but only to a point, and we'd more than make up for it with the independent base that is caught up in the 'maverick' thinking. Then once we're elected, we can take care of the people who funded our election, cut sweetheart deals with the people who can set us up with board chair gigs and speaking tours after our term, and count the money while people moan about us being Marxist or greedy evil people who don't care about the poor.

Yeah that is too long.
Here is the new slogan. "Different, not Stupid. Vote PDR."

The DawgTalk PAC of course!
Of course, there are a few minor strings attached to the money, which include the placing of Stadium Mustard into interstate commerce, the illegalization of any Super Bowl trophies not awarded to the Cleveland Browns, all professional sports teams based in or around Baltimore must have operations moved to Mogadishu, and mandatory beer prices at stadiums moved to 75 cents.
These are just to name a few......

I know he doesn't post often, neither do I, my running mate would be Lyuokdea. From our conversations we agree on a lot of things and we both place a strong emphasis on science and its developments.
Ballpeen would be next, he's more conservative than I am but I think we share the same respect and admiration for the U.S. Constitution
Go Browns!!

I'd select Michelle.
She has broadend my views on many issues....seriously....and she like telescopes. She is the only chick (sorry if that is viewed as a insult....chicks are chicks in my era....and I am not going to change just to be elected.....that should bring some votes IMO) that likes telescopes.
I like her. I think it best if you run with someone you like....and she is probably a conservative democrat and I am a liberal conservative....her on fiscal issues, me on the social issues.....it would work....a conservative dem and a liberal rep....
We would balance.
