I don't know that this is the place he should've brought it up, but isn't it worth addressing?

I mean, if you took this exact same scenario and stuck it in, say, 2006, then about 95% of the people who are 'outraged' at this would be rolling their eyes at anyone who said it then. Now all of a sudden everyone wants to talk about corruption and the truth?

I think this whole situation is a manufactured outrage. If you really want to get into it, Obama's use of drones is far more damning of a situation than this, but his detractors can't really tackle that one, because it would fly in the face of what they have been saying for so long. This administration killed an American without a trial and refused to release any detailed explanatory information. Nobody minded that.

But Benghazi happened, and the floodgates opened, because it was election season and they needed to pin the guy for being weak militarily. They'd been crowing about it for four years, but couldn't do much because he pretty much took their doctrine and amplified it. Benghazi was the right opportunity.

I think on this one, most people are outraged because they want to be outraged. I'm not saying there's not a very valid reason to be upset - because there is. But so many who care now never seemed to mind before. In fact, more often than not they were the ones who would be putting up eye rolls and saying that you don't need to know every detail about national security.

what else would you call it when a whole thread gets hijacked into a discussion of the source of the story, instead of the story itself?

Wrong. I am not outraged because it's convenient, or a socialist scumbag is in office. I'm outraged because our government is currently treating us like we're all stupid, and lying to us like we're all stupid.

First of all, both Bush presidents were progressives, Clinton is a progressive, and the current jerk in the WH is a progressive. I would have rather daddy and bady Bush had kept saddam hussein in power and used him against Iran. We could have had a country on either side of the greatest sponsor of terror in the world. Hussein would have been far more valuable to the US as a hammer to our anvil in Afganistan. Instead, we gave the entire muslim world "the great satan", as if they didn't already hate us enough.

Our government left over 50 people to die on sovereign American soil, and the only shots fired in defense were fired by the retired SEALs down the road. They have hidden witnesses, lied to us about the cause, asked condensendingly 'if it really matters', and have thrown the worst movie maker in the world in jail. It's damn near a year later, and we're no closer to any answers. No, matters of national security should not be released to the public, but the white house menu is a national secret to these people. The progressives are slowly taking away our rights and government, and they're doing it by regulating everything.

We need to get all the scumbags out of office, and replace them with regular, flawed, everyday citizens. We need to change the tax laws so everyone pays the same percentage. We need to make our federal government do what it was conceived to do, which was little more than see to the common defense, settling disputes between states, and set the overruling laws of the land. They should not be in the business of education, welfare, healthcare, etc, etc, etc. Most of what our federal government is doing now, is stuff they were never intended to do. Education, welfare, healthcare, roads, environment, and everything else should be left to the states.

I am truely tired of our government treating us like mere children, who are unable to make the correct decisions for themselves. I'm tired of them lying to us over their stupid mistakes like Benghazi. There could have been enough back up there within an hour to scare off any jihadist.

BTW, I might open another thread to discuss why we should change the way we make war.

Erik for President! The thing is, I really do believe that a majority of people, or close to a majority, have these beliefs. It is sad that everything is so left and so right. The US government was never meant to have this type of power.

The scary thing is the power goes to their heads as soon as they are elected and shame is out the window as greed and ego dictate what they think and say.

You are right and why we need to be in support of the 10th amendment. If the constitution means anything at all, this is how we are going to take our country back. If that can't be done, take your state back.

We are a country, but some people like to forget we are a Republic of United States.

Anyone remember this?

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

No wonder we don't recite it anymore. It goes against everything these leftys want.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Not common sense. You or those who think that have nothing in common with the way I think, thank-you.

I'd like to know what in particular goes against common sense. I guess if you are saying there isn't common sense anymore I may tend to agree. But I don't think that is what you are saying.

Edit:
I saw in another thread you like the green party. And you are questioning common sense?!?

That's why I said "you or those" in the event the poster didn't or couldn't make their position clear.

I think it was roosevelt - not sure - but he said basically "pledge allegiance to the country, not the gov't."
