Practice squad eligibility is tied somehow to time in the league. Massa has been active far too many games to be put on a practice squad.

Oh wow...

So did some homework and found this:

// Can not have spent the previous two seasons on the practice squad (there are allowances for a third season, provided the team he's employed with maintains a full 53-man roster throughout the entire season, or time he's with the team);

// Players without an accrued season of NFL experience;

// Free agent players who were on the active list fewer than nine games on their only accrued season(s)."

Learn something new everyday! With that said, I love this comment then!:

Massaquoi is almost certainly not coming back. He has been fragile, and a player who can't play isn't much help t the team.

Hope - Bus out of town???

No Hope involved. We let him hit the FA Market without offering him a contract.

So he is already at the Station...just waiting to see what ticket to buy for his final destination. He might get a minimum contract after the draft???

JMHO - shame but he became damaged good by Harrison's hit. Still gets me mad the Refs love for Steelers as Harrison didn't get a penalty for the hit

He def hasn't been the same, or crossed the middle the same, after that hit. Which truthfully renders MoMass ineffective, then you throw in all the injuries and concussions, which renders MoMass worthless...

I really would be shocked if another team picks him up, even as a #3.

why not? They have nothing after Blackmon and Shorts, and Massaquoi would be cheap. They have to use their draft picks on defense and RT.

Oh yeah, and QB.

Are you kidding me? I'm gonna try and pick for them in the mock draft. The Jaguars have cut ALL of their cornerbacks except people who have never started. They have a Center who is 35 and going to retire. Their own GM couldnt name Any right tackle in a recent press conference. They Need a Slot WR. They had the Worst pass rush and Sacks in the league, They need a Whole, all new defensive linemen.
The best 3 players still on their team, (besides Blackmon wr, drafted last year) are Nwarni, and ?, and Oh Maurice Jones Drew. But Nwarmi, I'm not spelling it right, is either an Ot, they have one, or a Dt/De, they have one, and whichever, he would have to challenge to be a backup on The Browns right now.

Their hopes, if they played a game today, for 2nd Wideout are in Cecil Shorts, who has concussion problems, OR, Some guy the Bengals cut last year.
They've kept that former Jet, then Brown d-lineman, who couldn't last, on their roster for 2 years. Their sorry Lb's can't even be adressed right now, becasue at least they'll still suit up. The same with their sorry safeties. NOBODY is happy with their QB, as Blaine got benched halfway through last season for Chad Henne.
Going by my philosophy that anyone drafted after 164, isn't to be counted on, but a benefit if they workout,
The Jaguars have 7 picks in this draft, two of them are after 164,
There is NO WAY to fix the Jags, or make them competitive with 5 players, they need anyone they can get.

On Massaquoi, he is not worthless, he is dependable, competitive, and The Browns should try to bring him back, unless they address WR somewhere else.

LMAO MoMass and the word "dependable". What are you smoking dude? Dependable at bring injured, and dependable at crossing the middle like a little girl focused on the hit rather than the ball being thrown to him.

I'm sorry, but MoMass is and has become worthless. He played what, a handful of games last season?

Momass has a lot of potential but at this point in his career I don't think dependable is the best description - dude has to stay on the field to be dependable

He's dependable. You can count on him to get injured at least once every 8 receptions.

"The Cleveland Browns also were "very interested" in his services, according to La Canfora. Hixon reportedly turned down an offer from the Detroit Lions at the start of free agency."

" Hixon Signs with Panthers. "

Carolina, unlike Detroit, or Cleveland, is generally warmer and has an "Ocean" beach.

I think people put too much stock in weather conditions as an indicator of why a player chooses a certain spot to play. I would be thinking about two a day practices in August in Miami more than South Beach in the winter time. Lso some folks actually prefer the cold weather.

Weather conditions and quality of life have a lot to do with it. I'd put it up there with money, job security and winning.

If I'm in my mid-to-late twenties, and I get two identical offers, one from Miami, and one from Cleveland. I'm probably taking Miami, unless I think Cleveland has a good shot to get to the Super Bowl.

Heck yes!
Unless Cleveland has something significant to offer above life in Miami, I'm definitely going to Miami because it isn't just where I'm going to play. It is where I'm spending my off time, my evenings, my early mornings, and the weather I'm driving to work in.

I can freeze my butt off and stare at parkas and snow plows, or I can live someplace where I can look out my window at a beach and bikinis.

Give me the four seasons. I would rather make 1 million and live in Ohio than make two million and live in Florida.

Screw that. For one, no income tax in Florida - which is something else that FLA has on us.
For two - no driving in snow.
Three - bikinis!

GM, I love you man but that's one of those things thats easy to say for a person who isn't making a million and has never been offered two million to move.

I personally have never been enamored with Florida, but I do prefer warmer to colder.. maybe it's also because I'm 46 years old and don't really have a desire to live the Miami nightlife either... Give me a few million a year and I'll gladly live where it's warm most of the year and then go skiing in Colorado or Switzerland for a couple weeks each winter and that will be enough snow for me.

Most of Florida is a lot better than Miami, imo. Miami is a whole different world.

I love the Gulf Coast, quiet with pockets of open space and lazy beach life. I hate the Ohio Winters, but I think I'd honestly move back to Cleveland before Miami. But a young millionaire, with no roots in Ohio? whole different ballgame.

Not me. Florida has no income tax and Ohio does. I'd live in Florida Nov.- April, and visit in Ohio from May-Oct..

You'd get plenty of the 4 seasons.

My wife's from Florida and I'm from Ohio. We live in Ohio. You just can't find the same amount of nice neighbors and people willing to look out for each other as often in Florida as you do in Ohio. Just my wife's an my humble opinion.

I can buy that. Florida has many more transplants, so there can be a little less sense of community.

It's a good chunk of the reason I moved from Ohio to Oregon. I maybe scraped my windows of frost 6-8 times this winter. Yet skied in deep powder multiple times by driving 50 miles. I visit winter but don't have to live with it.

I can do the same thing here.....maybe a bit more of a drive. I can be in Gatlinburg in a hour and a half. There is plenty of snow in the Smokies most every winter.

I only need snow 2-3-4 days a year. After that, the wonder wears off and it is simply a pain in the butt.

Visit it. Don't live it. The only thing I liked about the cold and snow growing up in the Cleveland area was playing hockey and sledding. I don't do either of those anymore even if i lived there, but i would still be buying deicer by the gallon for my windshield wipers, snow tires for the car, paying someone or shoveling snow from my drive, buying maybe 50 lbs of rock salt for the walks, replacing gutters much more often because frozen water or snow pulled sections down, getting a alignment or two a year from running in to 10 inch deep pot holes....what else am I forgetting????

At least cars don't rust out for you guys the way they once did. LOL....for you older folks....remember how you would see entire exhaust systems littering the road?? Talk about a road hazard.....geesh

We didn't have any snow this year to speak of......one Saturday morning it snowed and got about 1/4 of a inch as measuered on the deck rail.....it melted by 11:30 am.

It did spit some snow in a cold snap a week or two ago...upper air cold....the last blizzard the north had.....what came down as snow melted on contact.

I've lived here I guess 37 years....we've had maybe 10-12 real snow events of a few inches or more. Only the storm of 93 was a real serious event....that was a perfect storm. it was like a winter hurricane. Gulf mositure a hitting super cold cell.....thunder and lightening in a snowstorm. That was a first for me....pretty strange. I measured close to 16 inches of snow here at the house pretty much over night.

Seriously...winds must have been hitting 40-50 MPH. Power was out 5 days here at the house.

It has never snowed where I live. You can drive an hour and a half and get to plenty of snow.

It's easy to say and easy to do. I enjoy all for seasons and I would rather enjoy a nice snowy day than bake in 90 degree heat. I hate the heat.
