The new Front Office of the Cleveland Browns have stated that they will conduct a Quarterback Competition to determine who will be the Starting Quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in the 2013 Season. As of this writing there are currently four QBs on the roster, the QBs are as follows:

QB #1- Jason Campbell
QB #2- Brandon Weeden
QB #3- Colt McCoy
QB #4- Thaddeus Lewis

Provided now is the definition of what a competition is:

com·pe·ti·tion

1.process of trying to beat others: the process of trying to win or do better than others
2.contest: an activity in which people try to win something or do better than others
3.opposition: the opposition in a competitive situation, or the level of opposition

Now, please assume that the competition is fair, unbiased and strictly based on the QB's ability to lead the Cleveland Browns Offense effectively.

Which QB will earn the right to lead the Cleveland Browns offense?
single choice

honestly, I think only 2 of those will be on the roster. i think they'll take a stab at QB3 in the draft.

I tend to agree. I think that Lewis has some potential, especially after the way he played against the Steelers ...... but this is a new offense, and a new regime. Maybe he gets traded to the Eagles for a late round pick? He would seem to be a solid fit there. (Depending on how much influence Shurmur has) Then again, maybe the Eagles just hold out knowing that he probably doesn't fit here, and will be cut.

We might even go into the season with just 2 QB, Weeden and Campbell, with a youngster on the practice squad.

Anyone could recruit people to come here and vote for their guy just to try and save face. I hardly believe that 15 people are an accurate representation of a fan base of hundreds of thousands worldwide.

Actually there are probably about 10 posters on any given board that will ambush any person who posts a positive opinion or outlook about Colt McCoy at any given time. We will see what happens over time, once all the rumors fade away and it becomes clear to "parrot bloggers nationwide" that Colt McCoy is not going anywhere but will in fact compete for the starting gig. I think you've about reached your limit of influence to swing this thing in your favor anyways.

This isn't to prove a point or to try and win an argument against you or anything like that. I've just seen an abundance of negativity about Colt and I'd like to see who all still believes in him... that is all.

Oh come on now ..... just admit it ..... you tried your best to try and slant things in your favor as much as you possibly could ...... even including a rather condescending definition of "competition" .. you know, in case someone really had no idea what a competition is.

Also, like it or not, there will never be a "fair" competition, because McCoy has already played himself out of the starting role, Ûnd lacks the traits, talents, and abilities to be a quality starting NFL QB, especially in a vertical passing offense. The competition will be between Weeden and Campbell, and Weeden has the first shot as the current starter.

This statement is an absolute joke. You wanted to try and win, and found that your position is unsupported by most fans. You are right in that many fans who feel strongly about McCoy either way probably voted ..... but most fans just want to win and don't really give a damn one way or the other. As long as we have a quality starting QB, and win games, that is what matters ..... not the name on the jersey.

This is a tough question to answer... in the past the "winner" of the competition hasn't always been the guy that looked the best, yet it's worded as "earn the right to."

Who do I think will be the best QB? Campbell

Who do I think will be the starter? Weeden

Sorry PoeticG. I guess we see where the QBs stack up in the minds of the front office and coaching staff though.

The McCoy supporters now have the chance to say, "I still think he can be good, he just wasn't given a chance."

As far as McCoy goes, I still think he can be good, he just wasn't given a chance.

In reality, I'm not one of his supporters.

But that isn't what happened.

That's roughly 90%.

You just made the argument you're so adamantly against.

Just a bit outside.

I'm glad we got picks for him. And it looks like he landed in a nice spot. Win-win.

The Cream rises to the top. If Weeden continues to be the starter for the entire season, I will be happy, because I know, that that will mean that Weeden has improved.

I think Campbell is the better quarterback, and I really like Weeden, I actually hope Weeden shows so much improvement that he eclipses the better qb Campbell. I think Weeden will be given the first shot to show what he's able to do, I hope he runs with it.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
