Alright so I broke down and did the math myself. Overall from 1990-2012, the browns are 40 and 94 with a win percentage of 29.85%.
Year Wins Loss 2012 2 4 2011 0 6 2010 1 5 2009 1 5 2008 1 5 2007 3 3 2006 0 6 2005 1 5 2004 2 4 2003 2 4 2002 3 3 2001 5 5 2000 2 8 1999 1 9 1998 - - 1997 - - 1996 - - 1995 3 5 1994 4 2 1993 3 3 1992 3 3 1991 2 4 1990 1 5 Total 40 94
If you look at it from 1999-2012, we are 24 W and 72 L, with a win percentage of 25%.
From 1990-1995, we are 16 and 22 with 16 W and 22 L for a win percentage of 42.11%.
We have been over .500 once within the division since 1990, that being in 1994.

So the point of this topic is to what? Show that the Browns have not been successful since 1990 because they haven't compete in our division?
Well thanks, I'm so glad that is cleared up. I would have never figured that out with out this topic.

I don't understand why everyone is so butt hurt by facts. The thread was made to show statistically how terrible we have been. It was also meant to facilitate that we've clearly been doing something wrong. It is inexcusable to be this bad for this long. I think a lot of people realize we've been bad, but not as bad as it's actually been.

Because we already know this. It's pretty common knowledge that we have been bad and the reasons why. We don't need a thread to tell us this. So either you are a troll and are on here just to talk about how bad the Browns are to throw it in our face or you are a person that feels the need to break down and talk about why 1 + 1 = 2.

you have posted 4 times on this board. all in this thread. all about how terribly terrible the Browns have been (and decided to go back even further than the standard 1999 reboot).
everyone knows how terrible we have been. we have discussed ad nauseum about how poor division records reflect the uphill climb we will have to make. we have had threads that demonstrate the poor division record coach-by-coach. but, we all also post about other things as well.

wait a minute... You mean we have been bad since 1999? Damn I thought we had been a play off team every year. Time to crawl out from underneath that rock... thanks Kirby it's an epiphany

Hey.......where is Dj, mac, and Pit on this thread? You know, the guys who are crying their eyes out about how worried and concerned they are because we have changed regimes. Yeah, it could get a lot, lot worse. Instead of winning 4 and 5 games like we did under The Big Show and Reach Heckert, we might win 3 or 4 games. The horror! Here is my take: Thank God those guys are gone!!! At least we now have some hope. I don't know if the new regime is any good or not, but goodness, they can't be any worse than the trash we just threw out!

We are here having a firm grasp of the obvious.
We have people in charge that either have a poor resume', Lombardi, or people who nobody can seem to say exactly what their resume' consists of exactly.
No, no reason to have any concern there
Just because people don't go lock step in line with your views doesn't mean that's a bad thing. Accept to you.
For someone who was gone from here for so long, you act as if anyone who disagrees with you are the problem. We're not. We just don't put blind faith where many question marks are so obvious.
Or are you happy with Lombardi's draft record and having no real idea of what Banner does and does not have a good track record at? Does that instill such a great deal of confidence from you?
Hey if you insist on being a blind follower without questioning things, that's your prerogative. But there's no need to point fingers and act like those who do have legit. questions are so far off base.
And in case you missed it, I actually like the signing of Kruger, Nelson and Campbell. But of course I noticed you never seem to say anything about the times I agee with their moves.
You seriously need to get over acting like anyone who disagrees with you is the problem here. We managed to get along just fine without you while you were gone. Maybe if you would actually act like just another poster instead of the all knowing, all seeing Vers, things wouldn't be such a bumpy ride for you.

Yeah Pit, it's me who is worried about people agreeing w/my views. You guys can't handle an opposing opinion. I've already been warned not to challenge Dj. Y'all can make up things and misrepresent the truth, but it's okay, because most people agree w/that line of thinking. Don't dare mess w/the majority opinion.

Just for the record: again Vers "talking football", go figure. Posters here aren't as dumb, they're going to figure out who keeps starting the fire. "Majority opinion"...that's a first for me. Anyway, whatever the % of people agreement has to do with the strength of an argument is beyond me, but the fun part in all of this is that the actual "majority" is deep into Banner and forgot everything they've said about Banner&Lombardi when it was rumored they could be our "talent evaluators". I don't remember anyone wanting that and now they're magically all like "ok" with it. Doesn't get more "homer" and "majority" thinking than that, no? And pretty spineless on top of that, but that's just aesthetics I guess. According to your own made up rule of not messing with majority opinion, I shouldn't even be responding to you as YOU actually represent the majority here, lol Maybe you were warned to challenge me because you have to come up with good arguments once your bully rah-rah has been dismissed....now go cry "contempt" an "blasphemy" off of your soapbox

Speaking strictly for myself, I was neutral on Banner, and hated the Lombardi hiring ....... however, at this point he is the GM, and there is nothing we can do about it. I merely hope that he turns out to be the right guy.
I also happen to like many of the moves that we have made so far this off-season. We cannot sign everyone. I love the Bryant signing. I like the Kruger signing. I almost love the groves signing, because he can be an important backup/situational guy, is experienced in Horton's defense, and he was inexpensive.
I am not crazy about the fact that we didn't make more of a move to shore up the 2nd starting spot in the defensive backfield, but that just tells me that we will probably address it in the draft.
I don't love every move they have made, and I don't love that they passed on some players I would have pursued, (like Huff) however, I haven't agreed with any front office 100% yet, and I don't expect that I will do so anything soon. What I do know is that we have won 4 or 5 games in each of the last 4 seasons ...... and that's unacceptable to me. Hopefully Banner and Lombardi manage to get it right, and we succeed, I want them to build a winner. If not, then they will be gone, and we'll have to start over again ....... which would suck.

Make up what Vers?
Do you know exactly what all Banner had input in while at Philly other than the cap and contract negotiations? Because I sure don't. Do you know how much influence he had in other areas? What exactly he did or did not have final say in while he was there?
No, I don't think you do. I haven't made up anything. There are a lot of unanswered questions here. We can plainly see the draft record of Lombardi's. I didn't make that up.
I like most of the FA moves made so far myself. But I will air on the side of caution here. I'm certainly not giving them a huge vote of confidence. Do you have information as to what it was exactly Banner was in full control of in Philly that maybe I should look at or consider?
And in case you missed it, you point out THREE posters. You might wish to look at how many people post on this board because by pointing the finger at THREE people, that would be the vast minority, not the majority.
I know your math skills are much better than that.
