The only OT needed is for backup ... Thomas and Schwartz are as solid as any in the NFL!!!

We are talking about the Dolphins..

Powder blue you must be as good as the chargers @ evaluating OL if you think this team needs to draft an OT early ... just ask Rivers ...

I have a question.

Is it fair that a person checks in forst thing in the morning, sees 4 or 5 teams ahead of him, and assumes that he won't be picking until that evening .... only to find out that other "GMs" have made their picks in rapid fire succession, and he has missed his pick?

Maybe a suggestion for next year. Perhaps give each "GM" 1 hour per pick in the first round, and half an hour in the other rounds. No matter what happens, each poster would know what time they have to make their pick. A "GM" can pick early, and GMs can run off a series of picks if they choose, but that poster who doesn't realize that his team is up would still get to pick within his alloted time.

In other words:

Team 1: 9am - 10am Day 1
Team 2: 10:01am 0 - 11 am Day 1
Team 3: 11:01 am - 12 Noon Day 1
Team 4: 12:01pm - 1 pm Day 1

If teams 1, 2, and 3 all pick within the first 15 minutes of the day, then team 4 still is entitled to wait until 12:01pm - 1pm to make their pick.

You would still make it through the 1st round in less than 3 days. The 2nd round would take less than a day and a half. There would be no confusion as to when someone has to have their pick in, and no one would be (rightly) ticked off if they thought that they would be picking at 8PM, and went to dinner with their family, only to check back in after returning home to find out that their pick had been made for them ... even though they should have been on the clock..

Just a suggestion for future consideration.

Not everyone has that flexibility.

I'll have a better fix for that very soon. almost done with it.

Well, we at least got the position right. bbb let me know he was going tackle, just wasn't able to get on while his pick was up.

Speaking of which, unfortunately Mutt contacted me and let me know he won't be able to participate. Would anyone like to pick up the Chiefs? Particularly, anyone who has been following along but doesn't have a team yet?

I'll take the KC job if no one else wants...

I may be 8 1/2 hours ahead of everyone else, but that just means I'll be faster!

cool, sounds good. You've got one coming up soon, and then two in pretty quick succession at 96 and 99 at the end of the 3rd / beginning of 4th

didn't mention specifically, just that he was going RT at that spot and will make sure to be available to put in his other picks.

Honey badger is off the board.

Patriots would be an ideal landing spot for him and his ball skills would be ideal for their secondary.

With Austin and Matthieu they'd have two of the most dynamic guys in the draft at their respective positions.

Would be fun to watch for sure!

gsa mentioned he probably won't be able to pick for his teams. He was on vacation from his job and I didn't do a good job explaining to the new people how long this usually takes.

Does anyone want to pick up Atlanta or Baltimore?

Also, gsa, if you're back from work and want to make the picks, please feel free.

and midget-sized (for the NFL)

(definitely agree that it'd be fun for them to end up on the same team, especially if it was NE)

Minnesota Vikings are interested in trading pick# 64, on the clock, now.
I will make my pick in about 10-15 minutes, otherwise.
Give me a few minutes, to look at the board.

I took B.W. Webb, corner from William & Mary. There were other corners available, but this guy has all the athleticism and played well, in the Senior Bowl.
I think the Vikings would be ecstatic, with DT Sly Williams, LB Alec Ogletree, WR Terrance Williams and corner B.W. Webb, with four more picks (another 3rd, 4th, and two 5ths).

I don't know if Vikings fans want another athletic Webb who still needs to prove himself

I'm surprised to see one player falling, a player on the "visits with the Browns" thread. And the NFL sight has a newstory entitled, " One GM says, Qb's will drop like logs". Well Apparently they are.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I see a player dropping that is surprising me. Not as much as the spot he has fallen to but the players at his position that are going before him. Unless I missed something.

Titans now have added: Star Lotulelei(DT), Kevin Minter(MLB), and Jordan Poyer(CB)

None of that is going to fix Jake Locker, but at least they should have a good defense.

Yeah, I feel pretty good about Dion Jordan, Kyle Long, and Swearinger for the Cardinals as well.

There is no way Jordan falls to pick seven in the real draft though.

Lost :

Mark Sanchez
Darrelle Revis

Gained :
Josh Freeman
Barkevious Mingo
Zach Ertz
2014 First Round Pick

I think I'm goin' pretty good right now. Even though no_logo just took my guy I was gonna take at #72

I like all 3 of those guys as well. Is Long playing OT in your scenario though? (I have him tabbed as more of switch to OG guy).

I figure the Cardinals need help all along the line so he can play either one.

My original plan was to trade up for Fisher but THROW LONG screwed me on that one.

anarchy thought I would bring this here:

Quote:

That's a nice pick, eotab. Buffalo's QB situation is certainly not settled by any means.

Thanks...I think we will be seeing a QB run now cause there are a lot of good value picks for 3rd round QBs available. I'm thinking the real draft no way half these guys will be available...but you never know???

I agree. I think that teams with QB questions (including the Browns) will probably bypass the first round to pick one up and wait until the 2nd round to begin taking them. None of them look to be worth a top of the first round selection. A team, that isn't in desperate need might take some of them towards the back end of the first though. I could see teams like Houston, Indy or St. Louis using a pick in the latter half of the first round drafting a QB. Of course, even with the Vikings success last year, they could use a better option at the QB spot.

I don't really understand why everyone wants to switch him to guard. He's one of the more athletic offensive linemen in the draft, and really is built more like a tackle than a guard.

there probably are 3 QBs or so that would be taken in the top 50 that are still on the board now in the Middle of the 3rd round... Even those rating sites where usually QBs get taken above their ratings...have several as the absolute BPA now. Very unusual for the QB position

6 more picks n my draft is over...I signed on for a 3 round mock. Unless we all meet a given time...One night for each round n have a 5 minute limit. Not able to make it - Give the commish your board?

I find myself picks away n waiting hours. All the while I should go to the GYM...but I find myself making ANY Excuse to miss my Gym time! Man this Mock draft has been a great Excuse maker....lol So I'm hoping after today...I'm done so I'll get a lot of gym time in! Just trying to look Half as good as I imagine myself as I look into the mirror

my fault for using the word "switch"

he started only 4 games for Oregon. all at LG. he did rotate in some at OT as well earlier in the year. he only played 2 seasons and had extremely limited repetitions. as such, the best use of his athleticism IMO is going to be at guard where the reads and responsibilities are simpler (and he can be selected by a team that pulls OGs more often).

Not too much here but on the other board especially in talks with the Senior Bowl...btw he played OG there I believe which maybe a lot of dawgs associate him as an OG not OT.

But getting back to my pimping of him early was for Him to be there when we picked in the 3rd round. Now that seems to be something that will not happen??? But is that us fans putting him up there higher due to his pedigree???

Same with the Draft nicks???

1. OT his transition will be a lot longer...
2. LG is what I was looking at him for...primarily cause he reminds me SOOO much of Steinbach just naturally bigger. I think he n Joe T can become an even better duo of Joe n Eric.
If team really look at him as an OT prospect...maybe he goes the 2nd round especially if they go FAST n EARLY.

OG...Don't know...Warmack who will set the tone can go top 10 or top 20-30??? Having OGs go earlier or going later than expected. I do think NO TEAMS are looking at Cooper over Warmack??? I think that is all smoke.

But ya never know

JMHO

I would have thought that several more of the QBs could have come off the board, but if it played out like this, I wouldn't mind the Browns grabbing one of them in the 3rd round.

Anyone heard from Powder today, his team was on clock about 3:15 and no pick yet. Just curious what we are going to do.
