sweet. Looks like a good trade for us where I'm sitting.

*edit* That being said, holy cow how many pass rushers is Philly stockpiling?

Trent Cole
Vinny Curry
Connor Barwin
Brandon Graham
Phillip Hunt
Everette Brown

and they trade for Acho? Maybe he'll play inside for them?

Interesting.

I didn't think Acho fit the 34, and Dion is a good change of pace.

Opens up a spot in ILB backup duties to most likely be drafted later in draft; Riddick or Nico Johnson in 4/5/6 range is a possibility.

Must mean we are taking Teo at #6. /purple

Acho showed little last year before getting hurt. As someone said, he's probably a better fit for the 4-3, so it's nice to get something for him.

Lewis has returned kicks. Obviously there was something that Banner likes about him from his Eagles days. Maybe that may have something to do with it?

It wouldn't be a Browns offseason if the new regime didn't make a trade with their old team.

Like clockwork.

I'm waiting for Djangonto chime in on how we're all hypocrites, and that if the FO traded for someone else's backup QB it'd mean they don't believe in Weeden, but Richardson gets a free pass...

Maybe Norv wanted a Sproles-type scat back? I wonder what kind of pick Montario brings back. Not all that much i'd imagine.

Anybody have a need for RB's and too many DB's?

This doesn't mean anything. It's just a depth move and he can play ST.

It also seems to me that Norv has usually kept 5 players between RB and FB.

Wow this is a great deal! I've actually followed his career n wanted him here...he went to HS in Albany NY where my son was going to college n he turned me onto him years ago.

His best game ever in college I remember was in the snow.

A perfect RB to fit our crew. The scat back all were gaga over Percy Harvin or others.

He is the closest thing to Sproles btw...hmmmm who coached n used Sproles to making him a force in the NFL.

Love this trade for Acho...one of several late round/UDFA LBs we have in the hopes of possibly contributing. Probably one of the least experience gained last year??? Was he injured??? I am pretty sure he went on the IR.

I can care less Philly or not. Dion Lewis is that scat back needed for this team.

I know one dawg was complaining - We just signed Ogb...So what we signed him to a league minimum or close to...if we end up cutting him so what.

Also somebody stated that Norv has kept up to 5 RBs on the roster??? remember reading that from a dawg on this board.

A good pick up - again I love this kid, don't know if any remember me pimping him during the draft???

JMHO - something for nothing, can't beat that!

Should be well rested after the 2012 season w Andy Reid's Eagles....

And PFT's blurb says he'll only be 22 when the season starts.

This has to be a bad move since Lombardi and Banner pulled this off...right?

Sounds like a great move to me. Lewis is a great option. Lot's of ZIP to his game.

I think you're correct here. Lewis can play third downs and is excellent out of the backfield (like Sproles).

He's a major upgrade over Ogbannaya.

LOL has there been a regime that didn't do that? Wait,, yes there was,, Butch Davis did that.. Not a trade but a draft pick when maybe the worst GM in all of football fleeced him to move up, what was it, one spot, to grab KW2... LOL

So, no, there hasn't been one regime that didn't bring a player in from their last team..

Very good move..Hardesty will be a FA next year..Acho was not a fit in the 34..
Lewis is a scat back who can be more shifty than our other backs.
Good trade, probably one that Browns come out better ..interesting I'm more surprised we made a trade with Philly,

I thought Banner and Lurie were being immature high schoolers, but maybe they are over this phase...maybe not.

Hats off to Banner (and I'll say it was ALL him knowing Lewis)....this is a GREAT trade imho. Very smart move to take advantage off of the Eagle's log jam at RB with McCoy, B.Brown and Polk

In Acho we "just" lose a ST guy that looks interchangable on our roster as we have many LBs who fit that style (Fort, Carder, Robertson, JMJ)

I'll happily up my confidence level

They're sitting #4 and we are sitting #6. With our glaring CB hole, can't shake the thought of them using Milliner as leverage. Hopefully no one else is that desperate for CB.

This deal? I like it. Wanted a scatback for ages. I don't see Lewis being the backup, he probably can't carry a full load if needed. But gives Chud and Norv a weapon.

Help in the return game?

I agree with this trade. Don't know much about Lewis going to look into him although most on here says this move is an upgrade on Obi.
If is an upgrade on Obi, then I am very happy with this move as thought Obi did good to excellent job as #3 Rb. We gave up Acho who is coming off injury and to me wasn't going to be more than St player. If Lewis has talent to possibly beat out Hardesty, then this is outstanding trade.

Acho looked so slow, no way he makes the team anyway. Now I am wondering if someone isnt interested in Hardesty.

We have now traded two players that weren't going to be on the team (McCoy, Acho) for something useful.

Let them try..the Browns aren't desperate for Milliner.
There are 4-5 starting caliber CB's that should go in the top two rounds.
I actually like two others as much as I do Milliner.
And trust if Banner wanted to he could take Rhodes @ 6..not much difference except for 40 times.
Trufant may be the better cover CB .

If we move draft positions we better be moving backwards....I'm going to be very disapointed if we give something away to move up two spots, we better be getting a 2nd round pick and moving back 8-10 picks.

I'm with you guys were not desperate for Milliner there's others

Hope it continues. Picks for them might help, but just cutting them for nothing is dumb IMO. Wish them luck, but this seems like a good move, Sounds like a decent player from those who know him (thanks!)

Exactly. There's no need in keeping players who simply do not fit in with the new schemes on both O and D.

At least we are getting something out of these players rather than simply cutting them.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I have serious concerns about Mike Lombardi and Joe Banner does at times give the impression of being a passionless, numbers obsessed, power hungry, executive. AND I reserve to right to reassess the two of them at any time.

At this point in the league season, I give them a solid B. Overall, they have made some key additions to the Browns roster and the have used some fiscal restraint in the process. No, they have not addressed every area of need. Certainly that will continue through the draft and beyond. So far, so good.
