Bengals cheerleader arrested, accused of sex with high school student
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 29, 2012, 4:34 PM EDT

Getty ImagesA member of the Bengals’ cheerleading squad who was until recently a Cincinnati-area high school teacher has been arrested and charged with having sex with one of her students.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Sarah Jones, a Ben-Gals cheerleader, was indicted for first-degree sexual abuse and unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited acts. Both are felonies that carry sentences of up to five years in prison.

Bengals.com lists one of the team’s cheerleaders as a woman named Sarah J. who is a high school English teacher in addition to having been a member of the Ben-Gals for the last five years.

Sarah’s mother, Cheryl Jones, who is a principal at a different school in the Cincinnati area, was indicted on a charge of tampering with physical evidence in her daughter’s case. That is also a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. The Joneses released a statement from their attorney declaring their innocence.

“Sarah has maintained her innocence. The indictment of her mother is completely baseless,” the statement noted.

Sarah Jones has previously been in the news for suing TheDirty.com, claiming that the website defamed her by publishing a claim that she had a sexually transmitted disease.

Compared to their cheerleading squad, the Bengals look like a bunch of choir boys.

With the way Palmer is making the NFL rounds, he might be back to the Bengals before too long.

If he robs a store, boosts a car, beats his wife or girlfriend or both, drives drunk, has an accident and runs away, he will most likely be back with the Bengals..

Then he'll fit right in

They sent him off to the Raiders so he could get that stuff done and come back.

You might've been a Bungal if you have a warrant out for your arrest....

The Associated Press

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson in South Florida.

The state attorney's office confirmed Thursday that a Broward circuit judge issued a warrant May 7 against Johnson for failing to report to his probation officer.

Johnson received a year of probation last September after pleading no contest to a domestic violence charge involving his former wife, reality TV star Evelyn Lozada.

The six-time Pro Bowl player was arrested in August after Lozada said he head-butted her during an argument. She quickly filed for divorce, which was finalized days before his conviction. They had only been married since July 4.

Johnson was cut by the Miami Dolphins shortly afterward. He previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots.

Lozada is on the "Basketball Wives" TV show.

Browns owner's company in trouble
Updated: April 19, 2013, 1:24 PM ET
ESPN.com news services

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A Pilot Flying J employee told investigators that CEO Jimmy Haslam, also the owner of the Cleveland Browns, knew about rebate fraud at the truck stop chain his family owns, according to an FBI affidavit unsealed Thursday.

The 120-page document filed in federal court in Knoxville, where Pilot is based, alleges that members of the company's sales force preyed on smaller trucking companies by reducing the amount of rebates they were owed for buying certain amounts of fuel.

Special Agent Robert H. Root alleged a "conspiracy and scheme to defraud executed by various Pilot employees to deceptively withhold diesel fuel price rebates and discounts from Pilot customers ... for the dual purposes of increasing the profitability of Pilot and increasing the diesel sales commissions of the Pilot employees participating in the fraud."

The affidavit was filed to secure the search warrants used in Monday's raid on the Pilot Flying J headquarters.

Those players have stayed out of trouble for several years and the Bengals have made the playoffs three of the past four seasons. Bringing troubled but talented players in on a short leash can pay dividends.

On the other hand you can always stick to the Mangini method of bringing in choir boys and having 4-12 records.

Teams that no longer deserve their bad reputation -- Cincinnati in the AFC; and Washington in the NFC. The Bengals and Redskins, after being laughingstocks on the personnel front for so long, have done a pretty good job with their rosters of late. The Redskins no longer crash and burn after trying to win free agency every year, and the Bengals don't take every character-risk player or off-field baggage case who shows up on their draft board. Kudos to Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown in Cincinnati, and Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen in Washington.

The Bengals obviously pulled off one of the great heists in recent memory in trading Carson Palmer to Oakland, but it was the Raiders in their brief and eventful Hue Jackson era, without Al Davis around to call the shots. Even without that move, Cincinnati has drafted boldly and well recently, and two consecutive playoff trips -- and three in four years -- has raised the bar of expectation for the Bengals.

Mickey you've got to give this one up..Clowns fans are still in some distorted state of mind where they feel like their football team is some sort of a measure of excellence. They will always run to the 50's and 60's and act like the Bengals should've somehow won something despite the fact that there was no team in Cincinnati..They have a million excuses for why, since the NFL merger, they haven't made it to a single Superbowl while 4 or 5 expansion franchises in that same time have been able to do it. They'll tell you that this is the year, but they've been saying that for close to 5 decades now. They'll give you excuse after excuse after excuse while eagerly trying to deny their own teams perennial sucky play..They have to talk about something because they can't even approach the subject of quality football...

Well Curly here's an easy one for you...why haven't the Bengals won any World Championships since 1968? You will give excuse after excuse after excuse while eagerly trying to deny your own teams perennial sucky play.

The Bengals are a dynasty now, don't you know. They finally (2011 and 2012) had their first back to back winning seasons since 1981 and (the strike shortened) 1982.

It only took them 30+ years to do so .....

These are heady times for Bungles.

I know you're right Curly. For a team that has never even been to a super bowl you would think that they believe they are the greatest organization in NFL history. Never mind that that past team now plays in Baltimore. They ignore the fact that they have been one of the laughing stocks of the NFL since becoming an expansion team. Yes the Bengals have made some questionable moves in the past but at least the pundits all agree they are on the right track. I never hear them say that about the Browns. Looks like another 4-12 season for them.
