A friend of mine who just had a child was born with an extra digit on each hand. It was a pinky finger growing out of his pinky finger. (his "real" pinky finger is real thick as well, like there is double everything in it). Well anyway, they did have the extra digit removed and the child was just days old.

This was about 6 weeks ago.

Jamey- our son had a surgery when he was 1. He had something called hypo-spadius, which in plain terms means his pee hole, was a slit instead of a circle. there are varying degrees of the problem, but his was barely a problem. The Urethra just splits open at the end instead of staying tubular. He couldnt be circumsized when born either. So we went to a specialist, who was alright, kinda strange if you ask me, but sometimes the ones with the worst bedside manner are really talented. What I was getting at is, Mason at 1 year old was put under, they had to open the length of his penis up to make sure the urethra was intact and re-form the end of it and circumsize him. I was terrified, as was his father. After the surgery it was AWFUL looking, and it bled and it made me want to pass out. I actually made my mom (nurse) stay at our house the first 2 nights because he had a catheter and everything for 2 weeks....... I mean, I can't tell you how awful it looked and how bad we felt for him.......... he was clueless. Its like he didnt even know anything was done to him. They gave him tylenol with Codeine and some antibiotics. Anyway, the kids usually do better than the parents! After he was all healed, he looks perfectly normal, you would never know he had a surgery like he did. Its funny you talk about insurance and network and so on........ the NFL is supposed to have great insurance and it really does, but none of the specialists that were referred to us took the insurance. So we had to go with the Dr we went with. Your son will be fine! Good luck!

Most men react that way. Hank didn't change a diaper for a long long time........ it was not pretty. I guess its pretty common.

Hank says he has a weight limit when changing diapers. He didnt want to do it til Mason was over 12lbs or something. This was his macho way of saying he thought he was going to break him.......

Thats fine with me though, as they get bigger, so does the mess! heheheh

Thanks for the info. It was tough to read though (not for the reasons mentioned by other posters so much as knowing how tough it is to see your little guy having to deal with anything like that).
