Preseason opponents announced
Zac Jackson, Staff Writer
04.02.2007
The Browns will open the 2007 preseason with home games against Kansas City and Detroit, then play their final two preseason contests at Denver and 2006 NFC Champion Chicago.

Exact dates and times will be announced at a later date. The Chiefs will visit on the first weekend of the preseason (Aug. 9-13) and the annual Great Lakes Classic game with the Lions will be played the following weekend, between Aug. 16-20.

The third preseason game -- traditionally the one that gives the regular starters the most action -- will take place in Denver on the weekend of Aug. 23-27, with the preseason finale coming at Chicago on either Thurs. Aug. 30 or Fri. Sept. 1.

The Bears return the core of their Super Bowl team and have one of the league's best defenses. The Broncos have high hopes for quarterback Jay Cutler's second season and return Pro Bowl defensive backs Champ Bailey and John Lynch to anchor a veteran defense.

The Chiefs' last visit to Cleveland Browns Stadium was a wild one -- the Browns won a 31-28 overtime decision last December. Barring any trades, the Browns-Lions game will feature the second and third overall picks in the 2007 NFL Draft.

2007 will mark the fourth straight year the Browns have closed the preseason against the Bears and the fifth straight season the Browns and Lions have played in the preseason. The Browns have won two of three from the Bears and three straight against the Lions.

The Browns haven't played Denver in the preseason since 1983. This year's preseason game will mark the Browns' second visit to the Broncos' new stadium, Invesco Field. The Broncos won a 23-20 overtime game in the Browns' first visit in December 2003.

2007 Cleveland Browns season tickets are on sale now. Call (440) 824-3434, or toll free (888) 891-1999 to purchase seats today or buy online at ClevelandBrowns.com.Single game tickets for 2007 Cleveland Browns home games will go on sale in July (date TBD). Home Page

Interesting list, Denver and KC.

No surprise with Detroit and ChiTown. They're always on the list.

No Buffalo? Interesting.

Playing Browncos in Denver the third week. Should give us a good indication as to what lies ahead.
We kick their butts, then we may very well be on our way.
AND BEFORE YOU SAY IT, yes it does matter in preseason in regards to the third game. It's like a dress rehearsal.

Be interesting to see who's starting at QB that first half.

Or left tackle
Or corner
Or right guard
Or runningback
Or defensive line
Or slot receiver
Or (according to last year) center

I really love having to pay for preseason tickets.

To make matters worse, the Browns never play at home in the 3rd preseason game, which is the best of the 4 games.

I still do not understand why we don't play the great lakes classic for the third preseason game.

That's not what I said. I said....having to pay for preseason tickets sucks!

But....your lack of reading comprehension got me thinking about it. The tickets are very expensive. I had to pay for a PSL. Parking and concessions are outrageous. The team sucks. Most times, they are outclassed athletically. Many times, the other team puts forth more effort. The fans spend more times in the aisle ways [I have aisle seats] than watching the game. The ushers, or whatever the hell you call them, don't want you standing up or making too much noise. There are commercials on the big screens.

And then, every offseason I gotta watch the Brown's "braintrust" fire more coaches and make more promises, while asking for my patience. So yeah...I really don't feel the return on my dollar is very good. Not good at all.

I totally understood you, and i totally don't feel bad for you. Enjoy your tickets and quit bitching about it. A lot of people would love to have season tickets including the preseason ones. A lot of people end up paying way over face value for regular season tickets that you get at face value.

I think I will be selling at least a few of the games. PM later if you are interested.

Having to buy preseason games does suck. But at the same time I enjoy going down to the stadium in the summer and enjoying a nice summer evening watching the Browns with the antisipation of the upcoming season, vs freezing my ass off in December when all is usually lost. They really should show good faith and reduce the concession prices a little this season. After all we sell the joint out to watch BS and the Browns still make a nice profit regardless.

I wonder when they will start charging season ticket holders an extra 5 bucks a ticket for the family fun night practice since it is held at the stadium.
