Roio World has him visiting Pitt & Clev, can he play Guard?
I wonder with his quick feet & size, can he make the switch to say....R Guard.
Food for thought, Thxs

Interesting. If he could play Guard, we could really make this OL something special.

I think you've misunderstood Eric Winston for Winston Justice.

Free agent T/G Winston Justice is visiting the Steelers on Monday and is scheduled to visit the Browns on Wednesday. The free-agent market is picking up a bit after teams failed to land certain positions in the draft. Justice, 28, can play both right tackle and guard. He'd likely compete with Mike Adams to start at right tackle with the Steelers. Apr 29 - 1:41 PM

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports free agent RT Eric Winston is still holding out for guaranteed money and a "multi-year deal." Winston is still an effective player, but must be unaware that he's going on 30 and been released each of the past two offseasons. It's not exactly a recipe for those kinds of demands in free agency. Teams are going to wait for Winston to cave, which will soon be his only option. Apr 29 - 10:51 AM

For whatever it is worth, this was supposedly a "Banner pick" back in Philly. Not all that shocked he's coming in for a visit. Not sure of the role, beyond depth. Maybe they think he can challenge one of the guards? Does anyone know if he played a significant role as a guard in Indy?

I cannot see them moving Schwartz when he is a young player with big upside, who performed brilliantly as a rookie.

If either one can play OG give it a shot, but don't move Schwartz ... Please

Would be a great move - Justice would definitely be an upside at guard.
Also, while our starting OT situation is good - we are in desperate need of depth, if either Thomas or Schwartz went down, we would be in trouble.

I agree, just tossing out the possibility. I feel that it is a possibility simply based upon Banner being the guy that originally drafted him.
Side note: If we got him at RG.... holy crap, I think that this might be a Dream Team kinda OLine.

Winston Justice would be a nice backup for Thomas and Schwartz. We don't really have a backup that can play both tackle positions.

Did Brandon Weeden get fat, forget to cut his hair, and grow a beard?
(I am assuming this is one of our draft picks that I have never seen a picture of.)

Ok... this just made me pause a second. For all of us that have been around since the old, old boards.... for how long, and on how many threads did we all daydream of the day we would have a solid set of bookend tackles?? Think back through all of the "Orlando Pace just bought a bar in Sandusky" threads, etc... and now we have it.
It's kinda awesome

Justice goes to guard, maybe even as a back-up, nobody should move Schwartz..he's the future of the position for us.

Obviously you have much higher evaluation of our current starting G's than I do. I would see him penciled in as a starting G right off the bat.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Our guards are young, and should still improve over the year - (also, the unit is starting to have a lot of experience together, which is key).
Justice is more talented, I think it would be an interesting camp battle.

At a rate of what... 72 sacks per year for Couch? Quincy Morgan could have almost tripled his number of drops!

I heard the very same thing last year about our G's "being young" and how much they would improve. The only one saw that could run block at all was Lavuo and even at that it was in spurts, nothing consistant.
I just wonder how many seasons you can use the "they're young card" until we see we need to upgrade?
Lavou has four years experience, Pinkston has three years experience. Age wise they are young, but with this much experience I think we pretty much know what we have there.

I see Schwartz as a backup for Thomas. Notice I said BACKUP, not a starting left tackle. But in a pinch, an emergency replacement, we could do a lot worse. Of course, Banner didn't draft Schwartz so maybe they will just flat out sign this guy and dump Schwartz. Who knows what they intend. This is what happens when you switch regimes. They dump players and bring in their own. Time will tell..... If they wanted a guard perhaps they should have drafted one.

Agree. the only way he moves is if he somehow doesn't grasp this new offense.. I just don't see anyone unseating him.

Yes, he's been in the league for three years. Let's say, even though nobody wishes for it to happen, he goes another season with yet another season ending injury.
That would be three years for The Browns to have trouble at the G position. So while you may feel it's unfair, the fact is as it relates to the team, these seasons string together.
Let me pose this to you... How long, or how many seasons, should we stand pat and wait on progress/health to work in our favor to resolve an issue?
Considering Pinkston had a season ending injury, we are yet another year from seeing him progress. How does that address the G issue?
As unfortunate as it may be, you simply can't stand pat and watch as a position becomes a year in and year out problem. And as much as I'm sure we all want it to be so, even if we continue to wait, there's nothing etched in stone as it pertains to Pinkston being an answer at the position.
I think that's the reason we are seeing this visit. We have to have some run blocking and we can't keep standing by waiting for it to happen IMO

While I'm still reserving my judgements on this new FO, one thing I will give them, they have been crazily active. They are either seriously A.D.D., or they have definitely got a plan for what they want to do and how to get there. Time will tell which one it is
