They should be "Government Leaders" not Republicans and Democrats, and until they decide to do away with the parties, and just run on issues, our system will continue to be corrupt and divided.

You don't find just the least bit of humor and irony in the fact that the party who promotes and runs on "family values" has a front runner that's on his third mairrage and his second wife had to get a restraining order to keep his "then girlfriend,current third wife" out of the Mayors Mansion?

That's what I was refering to. What party "he" belongs to. I don't belong to a party either. I sometimes vote Libertarian,someimes GOP and sometimes Democrat. I vote for the man,not the party. I just find Rudy being their front runner funny as hell! That's all.

I'd vote for Rudy or Romney over ANY democratic candidate I've seen. Even though I'd prefer Romney because of Rudy's stance on guns.So on a personal level,it has no bearing on my vote. So myself,I look at the person,not the party.

But from a GOP perspective?

He sounds more like a Democrat! I do find that VERY funny that their front runner is so opposite their platform on so many different levels. It's funny as HELL!

Why don't you come back and talk about front runners when it matters? We are so far away from the election most people don't have a clue about these guys except for name recognition. When things get down and dirty, Rudy will drop like a rock.

I think the things I mentioned will make Rudi drop like a rock also. And I think Romney,as of now,has the best chance of getting the nomination. And I would be VERY pleased about that.

It's ok, I get confused too from time to time.. . what SHOULD happen is the person should be who the person is and the party should either endorse them or not... the person should not make wholesale changes to their belief system just to get a party endorsement.

I agree with you about what "should happen".


But you see,each party has their own "contengencies" within their party's.

You have the NRA. Which will have a problem with Rudy's stance on gun control.

You have the evangelical contingency that will question Rudy's "morals".

You have the anti abortion contingency that will have major problems with his pro choice stance.

I like not having what I call "cookie cutter candidates". Being a moderate,extremism in either direction isn't my cup of tea. But when realisticly looking at who controls many of the GOP votes,I find it hard to believe that a person with Rudy's background and beliefs could ever garner the endorsement of the Republican Party.
