I am thinking about buying a Browns jersey but am not sure who I would want to get. I only have a Kellen WInslow jersey so I'm trying to upgrade. What do you guys think? Who would you get?

I agree, except for the number. The best number is 42.
Yes, a personalized jersey or someone from the far past (Brown, Kosar, Gay, etc.) is probably the best bet.
I won't be buying another Browns jersey until we really have a superstar (probably the QB).

I always say it depends on your body type. If you're a big guy you can't go wrong with Thomas. If not then I'd say Haden or Richardson. My buddy has a Haden and its a sweet looking brown jersey.

Me? I won't own one. My recommendation would be to save your money.

I'd go with a less common "classic" player, personally.
69, Dan Fike.
61 Mike Baab
79 Bob Golic
52 Dick Ambrose
27 Thom Darden
Guys like that. There are tons of others to choose from as well. That's what makes it fun.
No way would I invest in a current player unless it was a proven guy like Joe Thomas ...... but there are a million Thomas jerseys, and there are bound to be a million Mingo jerseys too. Gordon and Little may start to become more popular. along with Haden.

You can never go wrong with a Browns Hall of Famer.

Whatever you do, don't buy a rookie jersey until the 53 man roster is finalized. They often change numbers after the final cut.

I paid the extra money and got a personalized jersey.Makes no sense to me why I should buy a jersey with a players name and number only to have the player be traded or cut a few years down the road.

I am not big in to Jerseys. I have a Courtney Brown I haven't worn in years.
If I was looking to get one, I'd wait until next year and grab a new design. I have a feeling anything you get this year will be a throw-back next year.

I forgot about that Peen a very good point. I would wait until next season for the new uni design. I'm not big on jerseys myself. Outside of wearing them at a game I feel like a dork

Can't go wrong with a #57(and no, I'm not talking about Dwayne Rudd - Feh!). Clay Matthews was one of my fave Browns of all time.

My newest is a Joe Thomas Jersey. I don't think you can go wrong with him and don't see us getting rid of him anytime soon.

His jersey is the only thing close to a sure thing. Joe's as sure as they get. Should be a hall of famer, too.
My luck with Browns jerseys is just laughable. I'm a youngin' at 24, and I've watched an orange alternate Courtney Brown fade to obscurity, got over Edwards as a Wolverine after Pro Bowl year (being a Buckeye) only to watch him turn to a stone-handed diva, and saw a gifted Peyton Hillis jersey get cover-cursed.
It's not on my priorities for a while. For the longest of time I thought, "I'll just get Phil Dawson's #4 jersey and call it good." Still might end up doing it due to personal compatibility.

Within the last six years, I only owned a joe Thomas jersey.
I laughed at all the people who ran out and bought Hillis, Quinn and etc jerseys. Joe Thomas is just a can't-go-wrong, especially since them things are SO expensive!

I have Jamir Miller, Darren Chiavarini, Tim Couch, Courtney Brown and a Peyton Hillis jersey I bought for my son. I only wear my Jamir Miller and Jim Brown jerseys anymore and I'm through buying jerseys. If I had to, I'd get a Joe Thomas.

Only "expensive" jersey I got was a Joe Thomas. I have had a bunch of the cheap wall mart ones family members got me because they were on sale. You know after we traded Brady Quinn. Edwards left Courtney Brown etc. Of course they didn't know that's why they were so cheap.

My jerseys: Kosar Everitt (1 white and 1 brown) Eric Turner Brennan Metcalf Matthews Winslow Spielman (signed) Haden Jurevicius (signed)
I'm with Kingcob; I only wear them to the games or if I am going to a Browns Backer bar to watch the games as I feel like a dork any other time.

My wife bought me a Webster Slaughter jersey about 7 years ago. WebStar was a favorite of mine growing up. I think I've worn it 3 times and only to Browns games. I've got an odd hang-up about grown men wearing jerseys, I liken it to autographs, save it for the kids. Having said that, if you're bound & determined, I'd rock a Minnifield jersey. Go Browns

both my son's have #17 Edwards jerseys. only because they cost $2 at Marc's, but that's always a good way to get cheap jerseys ------------ if I were to pay top dollar for a jersey of a current player, I would probably consider (in no order): Thomas Mack Little Trent Haden Mingo (once I was sure about his number) Ward Rubin Taylor I think I would lean Phil Taylor because he's a really good player and not many people have that jersey. If you go classic, then I'd suggest going with one of your personal favorites from your youth. Good memories everytime you put on the jersey. I'd probably get Byner myself (would have been Ozzie, but I cannot do that now for obvious reasons).

Orange 86 Northcutt White 34 Droughns
Droughns had the first 1k yard season in forever. So I bought it thinking he'd be someone to stick around...
Now I'm just hoping somebody new picks 34. No luck yet.
And yeah. I'm ganna get me a #4 Dawson jersey, and the aforementioned "Red Right" 88 jersey.
I just don't want one of the new ones yet. Not do I want one with that ugly AL patch on it.

I have a K2 jersey, a Jim Brown Mitchell and Ness throwback, and a Jim Brown white long sleeve that I'm pretty sure is a ripoff, I only payed 30 bucks for it.
I'm thinking about getting a Mingo or a DQ jersey. I've held off for years on getting a new one but I feel like we are finally getting guys who will be around longer than 2 or 3 years.
I think a DQ jersey is a great buy, the guy is probably my favorite Brown since the rebirth. Class act, tough player, great leader. You could tell just from some of the Travel Channel stuff when they showed the players that he is unquestionably one of the leaders of that team.

and DQ came back from a pretty brutal injury to be a corps player. have to respect that in a player (and having the name DQ from the LBer spot is just a bonus)

I am not much of a jersey guy unless I can get one that was worn/autographed. Those are the only ones that I own. I have some pretty neat Browns stuff from the 80s through today. But I've never really purchased one to wear.
