I think Weeden will improve purely based on comfort alone. More shotgun and more practice from under center. I think part of the problem last year was that he had to think too much instead of just playing. The offense was completely new to him, he had to think about what everyone on offense was going to do, pay extra attention to his drops, adjust to NFL speed and on top of that learn to read NFL defenses which was hindered by getting to the line so late that he had to make a snap read. I think just getting the O to the line at a reasonable time to allow him to peruse the D will help a lot.

Add the fact that even Steve Young says it takes 3 years to run that WCO effectively.

There are things that need to fall into place. And we don't need ALL of them to. But if MOST do, I'm feelin' this team may just be that "Surprise" team and we'll be challenging for the Division with how decimated Pitt and Baltimore are.

Baltimore may have gotten Dummy, Huff and Canty. But the list of what they lost constitutes a MAJOR BLOW-UP. One of mind blowing proportions. And Pitt ain't far behind in what they lost and AGE.

It's all about Division records. Always has been. Always will be.

That is why I LOVE the OVER on the 5.5 wins in Vegas.

If I were to bet, I would take the over. This team could have been a 7 win team in each of the past 2 seasons, if not for a stupid fluke play here or there, or the suspension of Haden last year.

Sooner or later we have to get a little luck heading in our way.

I also think that we will have a much, much, much better offensive plan this year, and better execution from players in their 2nd years instead of being a bunch of rookies.

The same logic applies in the opposite direction.

We could've been a one or two win team in each of the last two seasons, if not for a stupid fluke play here or there.

In the last two years, we've had two games which could be considered a bonafide blowout or clear win.

Looking that up was depressing.

Josh Gordon: Cleveland Browns' air show will shock NFL By Marc Sessler Around the League Writer
Published: May 25, 2013 at 02:15 p.m. Updated: May 25, 2013 at 06:34 p.m.

The Cleveland Browns were a slow-motion car wreck on offense last season, but new coach Rob Chudzinski has promised to flip the script with a wide-open passing game.

Second-year receiver Josh Gordon has already seen a difference.

"Defenses will be shocked to say the least with how much we're running downfield," Gordon said, per the Akron Beacon Journal. "I've never ran this much as a wide receiver ever in my life, and that's a good thing. And not just me, everyone from the slot guys to running backs, everyone's got passing plays in the system."

We mentioned the Browns this week as one of five teams set for wholesale changes on offense. Coordinator Norv Turner prefers an aggressive passing attack that challenges defenses with deep strikes downfield, which certainly sounds unlike anything we've seen out of Cleveland in recent days.

The pressing question comes at quarterback, where second-year starter Brandon Weeden struggled to make a difference last season. Weeden obviously is a better fit for a shotgun-oriented attack than last year's precision-based West Coast outfit. Still, without better decision-making, it won't matter what Weeden's receivers are doing.

Gordon's promising rookie season is a source of optimism. So is one of the NFL's better offensive lines. And it doesn't hurt that Cleveland has committed to replacing a predictable, sleep-inducing scheme with an attack-style offense, but until we see production from under center, it's all talk.

I saw and read that article yday... I dig it. If these younger guys will buy into the system, their drain every ounce of energy and effort to fulfill the play calls!

Who knows, maybe we'll score some TD's instead of always kicking FGs!
