In Microsoft's latest press release, they included some exciting information about Halo 3. Starting December 4th, you can go here and register for an opportunity to play the game. The public beta is only scheduled to start some time in the Spring of 2007, but now is the time to get in on it.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 4, by visiting http://www.halo3.com, gamers in North America will be able to register for the opportunity to be one of the select members to join the unprecedented ?Halo 3? public beta program, scheduled to kick off in spring 2007. Today?s announcement confirms the first path of entry for gamers to participate in the beta program and be among the first to experience the most anticipated game of 2007.



One of the major gripes over at the Halo Forums is that the beta is only available to north american gamers. But the everyone from around the world can catch the next bit of Halo 3 media, but Americans with ESPN can still see it first. Tune in to ESPN between 5:50 and 6:20 PST on on December 4th, to catch a 60 second Halo 3 trailer. Then starting at 8pm the trailer will be available at Xbox.com

This beta should be in time for my upgraded 360 that comes out in Q1 of 2007.

I sooooo hope it comes out for Mac & PC at the same time.

I wonder if Halo 3 will be out before Nov 07 like speculated? If they are getting ready to release a working Beta it seems to me that it must be pretty far along. I was a Beta tester for Xbox Live when it came out; the Beta testing for that was three months prior to startup.... <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Now that would be great! The earlier the better. I don't want to wait until November. Then again, don't rush the game and make sure the modders can't ruin the game online.

I can't see buying the whole platform for just a single game.

$400 for platform + $50-60 for the game = Too freaking much for one game that would be better on the PC anyway <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

That's how I feel. I couldn't imagine playing a first person shooter with a controller anyway, I'm much too used to the keyboard and mouse.

ditto.... if I even did buy the console and the game, then I'd have to break down and buy the add-on keyboard & mouse or whatever just to play the thing "normally".

I remember waiting for Halo2 to come out and they kepted delaying it, and delaying it.

The other day I had 45 kills and 3 deaths in a 100 kill matchmade game.

It's a teaser trailer. It's supposed to be short.

Although, it could have done without the dumb kids at the beginning and given more action.

I think it's just part of the buildup. Bungie is great at telling a story........they explained everything in a trailer has a purpose. Obviously, the kids talking about alien life was foreshadowing that master chief would be responsible for protecting earth from an inevitable covenant takeover.

Bungie has always been secretive.......and in all honesty, I would rather see shorter trailers with less game action. It's hard enough waiting for this game without seeing exactly what the gameplay will be like. <img src="/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif" alt="" />
